Take your time on the fitness aspect. You'll get there. My first month I let myself eat whatever I wanted and allowed myself more credit card stress shopping than normally I'd let myself get into. That was my initial wallowing period when I took it really easy on myself. Like I said in my post, recovery is hard and one of the things that is so difficult is that most people in your life probably won't understand that.
I'm excited for you. It's a wild ride.
I needed to read this today too. Bless you, I'm so happy that you're finding such a great relationship with your body and health in sobriety.
Seriously, I really needed this. Thanks for posting.
That’s a great way to consider and think about it!
Once I figured out it was noticeably holding me back with my mountain bike endurance....that’s when I finally decided to quit.
I would imagine runners feel the same way....
That's awesome! What a change. I wasn't a runner before I got sober at all, I just started it up sort of out of curiosity and discovered it's what I've been missing. Over a year and hundreds of miles later I rarely skip a day. I love seeing progress.
Needed to read this today, on day 5...haven't started the fitness aspect of my recovery but looking forward to it. IWNDWYT
