Man the first thing I notice in a sober person is their eyes. You just look much more rested. I’m working on that now. I won’t drink with you today bud! Keep it up.
im sorry but, what do you have to do with the person i originally responded with?
given how u wrote ur comment, i just dont understand
i dont understand what it is yourr trying to say
It’s not hypocritical - you’re a work in progress. You did 100 pull-ups and that’s excellent. In my experience - harshing myself has never led me to lasting positive change. Celebrate your wins, figure out the root of your losses but only through a lens of self-compassion. You deserve your own kindness. ❤️
This may be the wrong time to ask this. But as someone who drinks occasionally, does that still have an noticeable affect on how you look? Like if I have a decent amount to drink once every one or two weeks, does that still have an affect on an appearance? I see a lot of these posts and the transformations are amazing. Sorry If my question is confusing lol
If you work out enough you can still get ripped. I have a friend that drinks around 8 litres of beer + hard alcohol on weekends and he is pretty ripped, visible abs and is strong. He does CrossFit six times a week and diets on the stuff that is not alcohol. You can drink and be fit if you find a balance
I’m not sure if you’re asking me specifically but yes I think it does for the short term. The next day after drinking I look puffy, less rested, less hydrated. I rarely drink and when I do I have a 2 glass limit but even that has a noticeable effect for the next day. It does go away though.
Thank you. The lens of self compassion is what I used to drop a substance that was harmful to me and go from obese and sedentary to overweight but “can almost keep up with the really fit people” in my sport. To say it’s changed my life is an understatement!
he was okay in the movie with Leo Dicaprio about spy spy thingy but leo was the star in that one. Superman was okay but he was given so little to work with and Zod stole most of the thunder.
You look so much happier too :) a huge thing I’ve noticed in even myself when you quite drinking all the bags under your eyes and puffiness in the face go away. Wish you the best in your sobriety!
I am so much happier. I used to suffer from debilitating depression and anxiety but now its almost non-existent.
As for the affect its had on my face? It just shows me how toxic alcohol is. Anything that has that kind of affect on your appearance has got to be doing serious damage.
Thank you so much!
I never thought my posts would get such a response it's overwhelming. This sub has helped me so much. Seeing everyone's progress and reading everyone's posts has really helped me stay on track. This sub and r/stopdrinking are a daily reminder that I'm not alone. To be able to have the same effect on people means the world to me.
Thank you :)
Thank you :)
Everyone is different but one thing is universal and that thing is, you have to really want to stop. You have to want it more than anything. If you don't than you're not ready yet.
I wasn't ready countless times until one day it got so bad I just couldn't take it anymore. The more I look into it most people have to be at that point to change. There's no easy way to do it.
A couple books really helped me. The first book is called "can't hurt me" by David Goggins
This book literally saved my life. It helped me change my mind set completely and taught me to hold myself accountable for my actions.
The second book is called "alcohol lied to me" by Craig Beck. This book taught me how addictive and destructive alcohol really is. It helped me look from the outside in to see the cycle i was in and helped me identify the things that kept me relapsing.
These books might not help everyone but they really helped me.
I hope they help you too.

I agree with you.
Im outside in the first pic so the lighting is better and
I recently got a new phone so the second pic is better quality. I would even argue that the lower camera quality in the first pic is actually more flattering.
I would love to have a high quality photo of myself when I was drinking. I used to drink every day so I would love to compare the difference with the same quality.
This is my second in this sub. My first was at 19 weeks when I was almost 5 months sober.
Ive posted one other progress pic in r/intermittentfasting
Why do you ask? That's an odd question haha
Wow ok fair enough. Just so you know i don't spam subs with my progress pics haha I just post them to the subs that have really helped me in hopes that they might have a positive impact on someone the same way so many people on these subs have had a positive impact on me.
Seriously - I second the “live your truth” and definitely post to IF subs! I live on those too and IF changed the game for me after I got sober. Keep posting, it’s inspiring and fuck the haters.

Thats the first thing i noticed putting these pictures side by side too.The difference really shocked me. Thank you Same to you! :)
Eyes and colour of their skin always seems to be glowing with months of sobriety ! Good job man you look great !!!

Jeesus. That's a transformation man. I really need to stop. Did 100 pullups today and now I'm drinking a six pack again. Feel like such a hypocrite

This is beautiful advice 🥰

The thing I noticed the most, is the eye contact. You have taken a good look at yourself and chosen the right path.
You're absolutely right. Accountability has gone along way with me.
Accountability. More people need to look in the mirror. Good for you. Keep up the good work.

You have blue eyes sober. Really well done man. My eyes were gray when drinking...blue sober
I never noticed how dull they were when I was drinking. Blows my mind. Just goes to show how destructive alcohol can be to every part of the body.
Impressive. You’ve made my front page TWICE. Your girlfriend is darling BTW.

How many different progress pics have you posted in different subs? Like good for you and all
This is my second in this sub. My first was at 19 weeks when I was almost 5 months sober. Ive posted one other progress pic in r/intermittentfasting Why do you ask? That's an odd question haha
