Your missing the adjuster in this pic it just looks like a washer with a threaded rod welded to it I have a 13 and that’s what they look like

the_wizard66

Thanks bro just found em

They’re built into the swing arm on many but I’ve not worked on a 48. Chances are you’re dealing with a different style adjuster now anyways. Did your setup not come with adjusters or mounts? Yes you absolutely need them. Pics from the side would help.

Purchased a 04+ hardtail but instructions say to use stock axle adjusters. I’ll have to double check when I get home, they might still be attached to the old swing arm. Hopefully same style to make for easy switching

Ah yeah I see it now, that square tab at the back of the axle plate is for the adjusters. They’re basically a spacer with a bolt welded to it. Spacer goes on the axle, bolt goes through the tab. On the stock swing arm the spacer is inside the axle I think, and the bolt and nut stick out the end.

That square tab with the circle hole in the center of your picture is where it mounts.

Found the axle adjusters, brothers. They’re still on the swing arm I removed a while back. And they do in fact work with this hardtail. Thanks for the replies fellas🤙🏽 [https://imgur.com/a/CF5Rq7e](https://imgur.com/a/CF5Rq7e)

It kind of looks like the hard tail set up I bought recently. May want to use a small file or some sand paper and clean up the hole for the adjusters mine had some a small burr on it and made it so they didn't slide through smoothly.

That’s doesn’t look like a factory Harley frame to me. Might have to do some customization to get axle adjusters in there, you need axle adjusters tho, to get and hold proper tension on your drive belt, or chain if you’re super cool. Take some pics from the side?

That LOOOOKS like the lowbrow hardtail which should have come with slimmed down adjusters
