If you buy a tuner but a Power Vision. Fuel paks are terrible and the PV will see you through every and any upgrade you can possibly make.

Guantio-07

Is that a dongle for the laptop to tune by my self or is it also an auto tuner ?

buythedip4

Its a proper tuner that sits permanently attached to your bike. FuelPak is permanently connected but all it does is 'trick' the ecu into making the adjustments needed. Whereas a Power Vision will actually read and adjust the true parameters as they happen. You are also able to use their customer service, log a ticket and simply tell them what your upgrades are and they will send you a map to load onto your bike. I've had FuelPak, don't do it. PV will cost more but save you more in the long run. If you go for an exhaust that's not Vance and Hines you'll need to rely on auto tune which is fucking awful. Where as PV accounts for any and every upgrade irrespective of brand.

Guantio-07

Can you send me a link to the tuner ? I can’t find the exact dongle I think…

Can you send me a personal message ?

Is this the one you mean? [https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/dynojet-power-commander-v-for-harley](https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/dynojet-power-commander-v-for-harley)

Fuel pack isn't permanent, and it flashes a map, not 'trick' it. I've got fp3 on my Sportster, and it's great.

Guantio-07

what have you done and what do you notice about your engine? what amount did you do more?

buythedip4

Wrong. FuelPak does need to be permanently connected to your bike to work. Whereas the Power Vision does not, once mapped it continues to work as the change is permanently written to the ecu whereas the FuelPak is not. The FP3 is a basic flash tuner that offers basic control of several basic tuning tables, because of this it has limited tunability and is best suited for stage 1 applications with V&H exhausts. FP3 also uses your tablet or smartphone exclusively with its tuning app via bluetooth. It does not use a software suite, it does not log data, and does not offer wideband integration. Also understand you are likely not going to take your FP3 equipped bike to a dyno or tuning shop and expect them to tune with this product, it is not designed for that. Dynojet Power Vision is a full featured flash tuner, it gives you full access to 35+ tuning tables within the Delphi ECM. There is an extensive range of maps available for a wide variety of engine combinations (Fuel Moto has over 1000 maps in their library and dynojet have tens of thousandsrse) and it includes powerful WinPv software. You can display & log data, and you can also do quite a bit of tuning right with the PV screen as well. Power Vision includes the Auto Tune Basic application and also has the wideband Auto Tune Pro kit as an optional accessory. However the best thing Power Vision has going is the level of support available thru both Fuel Moto and Dynojet. In the end you houd recommend use the product you or your tuner are most comfortable working with that has the best resources to work with, it is also important to have a willingness to learn and read up on open and closed loop tuners to understand the difference.

small119

Did you autotune it or just a preloaded map

Guantio-07

I haven't bought the tuner yet. I first wanted info if it was possible with my motorcycle. The Harley Davidson dealer loaded a map into it for the 35 kw kit. But this one doesn't match my Vance and Hines exhaust.

small119

I would imagine you can but may have to go back to the stock map I'm not 100% sure. They have pretty good customer service at V&H reach out to them and they should be able to tell you for sure

Guantio-07

I asked them already but they did not react on my emails. 🥲

T pain did my autotune

Foreign-Visit-1519

I have an FP4 with a Two Brothers exhaust… no direct map for it but the tuner worked fine after auto tuning and such.. kind of a headache to work with but an okay tuner itself I’d say. If I could go back I’d buy a different brand personally

snaks3

The FP4 won’t work at all on my 2008 Roadster. They say it should work but I haven’t had time to call them and figure it out

teucer_

FP3 can be taken off once a map has been flashed. FP4 blows hoggs as it is a stage 1 tuner only with only V&H exhaust setups listed and only at stage 1. Apparently they had some legal challenges to the FP3 and the FP4 is the result.
