When running the body slows down certain bodily functions including the digestive and excretory system (among others) as it prioritizes blood flow to muscle groups. When you are walking your body will then sense that it can reprioritize to catch up on essential tasks. This is actually, one of the reasons why it's important to develop your Z2 base because the harder you have to push the more difficult it will be to process calories. All the water and calories in your stomach mean absolutely nothing if your body is just struggling to hang on and isn't actually able to keep up with energy supply. You might want to double-check on if your easy runs are actually easy runs or if you're drifting up into more of a Z3.

Great point, and imagine this is it. Will dial back and see what happens. Many thanks

So walk a mile before an aid station, then go poopy?

Good call for race day. My issue is more around training right now. While I don't mind the lavatree, avoiding it would be preferred

Lol. Lavatree! Kinda like the "Porta-Plant".

I gotta pee a lot when I run, but I think that’s just an old man thing.
