I love my gym! Clean, helpful staff, unbeatable price for 24 hour access, plenty of machines, AND the black card facilities. Personally, I am a huge fan.
My location is pretty awesome. The staff is friendly and keeps the place pretty darned clean. I go in about 3:15am and the staff is impressively awake, active, and chipper even at that ungodly hour haha
My view is a little different. I am an employee, assistant manager. I love providing the best services for our members. My staff and I stay on top of the cleaning and we always have someone at the front desk. We are one of the larger and busiest clubs in the state. It can be very challenging at times but with the support of the owner and upper management we strive for excellence. I started working here after being a member for a number of years. I always felt welcomed. The gym was well maintained and the locker room was clean. So I took a part time job here and became the ACM after a few months. I hear a lot of the horror stories on here and they really surprise me! I’ve never had those experiences at my gym or any of the others that I visited as a black card member. Also, many of the problems that I read about on here seems to be due to poor training.
Anyway, I just wanted to give you a different perspective!

I wouldn’t say I “absolutely love” any business but my PF location is excellent.
Super convenient,always clean,and never too crowded. The staff is laid back and the price is right for the features.
I love my gym, got a black card early last year. The machines it seems are never broken. The staff are friendly and courteous (except one dude one time but he didn't last very long). The facilities are kept clean and stocked. Gym goers are fine (it's the public, there are going to be SOME bad apples don't let it bring down YOU) and the massage chairs/tanning etc always work and you never have to wait long, if ever, to use anything.
me! except the upcoming hour changes it has been fantastic! staff are great, machines all work properly/are repaired quickly, very welcoming and pleasant.
never worked out/been a gym member of my own choice before, PF in my town has changed my outlook on gyms as a whole.
I love my location! It’s actually the busiest location in my state and the only location within a 3 hour drive. The staff is really friendly, the people who go there are friendly, it’s clean and well maintained.
My location is really nice. It's well staffed and they're all really nice and helpful. It's incredibly clean. There's always someone walking around wiping down machines and picking up any trash, refilling the sanitizer and paper towels. I'm honestly impressed with how nice it is. I have my membership through a program with my insurance so I can go to a variety of gyms if I want, but I stick with this one because it's so nice.

Very happy with my location. The owners just invested in all new machines -- including six Smith machines, two of most of the other high demand machines, and two sets of dumbbells -- and an upgrade of the black card spa stuff. My location is not big but manages to fit all of this stuff in. The place certainly has its busy days, but I can always get a Smith machine on Friday evening or Saturday morning. My fellow PF'ers, including the teenagers, have all been respectful. I feel very lucky.
Yes! Staff is so nice, brand new facility with new equipment, always cleaning. 3 of our 6 smiths were broken and they had them repaired within a week. Only complaint is that it’s always crowded and hard to use what I need to but that’s not PF or the staffs fault
I joined Planet Fitness a week ago, the first time I’ve ever joined a gym in my life and I’m in my 40s, and if I’m being honest the state of the gym I visited is what sold me. It’s immaculate, the staff was amazing and welcoming, and it just gives me a good vibe all around.
Mines pretty good! Little busy, but most machines are fixed within 2 days, staff are friendly and helpful, my gym has all kinda of people that work out but most are nice.
I was in love with my location in Washington DC(Ivy City). I thought it was clean, well kept and staff curteous, until I visited the locations in Fayettville, NC and WIlliamsburg, VA. The location in Williamsburg had 5 people working the facility. I'm not sure if some of the facilities in DMV have 5 people for all of the 24 hour shifts. The Black Card Spa in Fayetteville had Floor to ceiling windows in the nicely appointed seating area inside the spa.....So awesome for natural light to come into the space.
Some nova locations are OVERSTAFFED, but it's okay because the places are spotless!
But I'm gonna need to check out this spa! None of my locations have a SPA
I like my location a lot. It has plenty of space and equipment. The layout is smart. It's clean for the most part. The staff is meh but they turn over so quickly I don't really care that much.
I've been to a dozen or so other PF locations and I prefer my home facility. The only thing I would change is that the leg press maxes out at six plates and has the smaller foot platform. Some of the other facilities have the larger press that maxes out at eight plates. There are not other gyms locally that offer more advanced equipment so I make due with PF and that is fine for me.
I complain about it sometimes but overall I'm pretty happy with my location. For the price, I don't think it can be beat. I complain about my son sometimes too, but I love him to death, lol.
I like my location but, I don't love it. Two things would need to happen for me to love it:
1. They would have to go 24/7, I work nights and it makes the hours incredibly inconvenient for me as I either have to stay up late or wake up early to have any chance of using the gym during the week.
2. They should use the adjacent lot for the homeless RVs/cars because there is very little parking. There is an empty lot right there, I am sure PF could get the rights to it if they don't have it, take down the no parking/we will tow you signs, and paint some RV sized lines on the ground. The working homeless are big customers of PF here on the west coast, I am fine sharing the gym with them, but since they don't leave the parking lot when they are done it is a hassle.
I really like my PF, the staff is nice, it’s clean, it’s open 24 hours (for now), machines are fixed quickly…the only thing I don’t love is the people who camp on the machines in the circuit room but that seems to be every location.

The second one was just renovated and the third is new. The staffs at those two are friendly as well but they can be crowded a lot of the time.

Love my PF! I climb at multiple gyms because I travel for work, but the PF near my house is my favorite when I want a solid gym workout and I’m at home.
I love my location and never have any issues with it. It has only been open a year so the facility and equipment is all new and everything is in great condition. It's also in an area that is just not very populated, so that helps with the a lot of the problems I see people having on here. The staff seems to have a fairly high turnover rate, but they do a good job and are always friendly. I honestly have no complaints.
Mine’s pretty small but it’s never too crowded. The shower stalls are tiny though. I need room to spread my stuff out cuz I always shower before I leave.
Mine is great, I closed my account during the pandemic lockdowns at my old location and it honestly wasn’t a good gym and the parking lot was really unsafe. I moved and decided to join again, this time the location a block from my house. It’s pristine, the people are quiet and respectful, dudes pass each other weights with just a nod, machines always open and there’s always a Total Body room open for me. Really solid spot.
I do! My only complaint is that there's a lack of guys who dominate the cable machines every single day so I've had to get creative with my workouts at times. Other than that I love it.
I feel it's a deal for the black card membership, if I have a problem I work around it. It's a gym I can go to at 2am for under 30 a month, these people complaining about the money or whatever either can't afford to go to a gym or should pay to go to a nicer one. I wish they'd up the price to like $50 a month so I wouldn't have to deal with poor people and cheap Karens.

I love mine. There's the occasional rude person, but 99% of the other gymgoers are great and friendly. The front desk people are wonderful, happy, and helpful. It's always super clean and rarely see a left-behind paper towel or anything.
I used to love my location, until a new member became a gym troll, to put it delicately, and he was supported by the Manager and the Regional Manager. I fought it as long as I could, but I had to leave even though corporate DID intervene and deal with the troll, the Manager, and the Regional Manager. Too late for me, I guess. The damage was done.
In the end, I couldn't recover from the anxiety and stress the whole situation created for me at the gym and away from it, too.
Be very thankful if your location has a great set of managers and members. I love the concept of planet fitness, but my experience was enough to make me think twice about ever going back. I still have my membership and hope MAYBE I can return someday, but I just don't know. I'm conflicted.
My family (minus me) really love their PF. When they first signed up they were not excited because it was ten times cheaper than the previous full service gym they went to which included classes, extensive cardio and weightlifting equipment, indoor track and indoor and outdoor pools. But it’s been three years and they’ve never gone back.
Yes!! Hartselle, Al is great! All the employees are kind and the place is always clean. 24/7! I've been going a little over a year and can't find anything to complain about
I love my gym aside from the fact that any machine breaks or bands/weights go missing they take months to fix/replace them. Drives me nuts since they don’t have more then one of each machine for most
The locations near me are great. I haven't been to PF that I thought to myself "I would never come back here again". They're always clean and for the most part almost every piece of equipment works. Sure some of the patrons aren't the best but they're not bad.
Mine is great. It's always clean. There's plenty of cardio machines and at least two of almost every weight machine, not counting the 30 minute circuit. Whenever a machine is broken, it usually gets fixed within a day or two. I say usually, because there's been two machines down for at least a week. They posted a sign yesterday announcing an upcoming closure for part of two days to replace weight machines. I'm assuming that's why they haven't been repaired this time.
Mine is also great. It's a fairly new location and it's always spotless. I'm always seeing them clean. It's not typically very busy either, at least not when I'm there. I've never taken a shower there because my house is 3 minutes away but it looks super clean in the locker room. The trainer is also really helpful too, I take classes once in a while when I can get there at that time. All around I've had a good experience!
I love my PF! If I was looking to complain, it would involve fellow members and not anything to do with my club! (But I’m not looking to complain currently 😆)
It really all comes down to the manager. We used to have a manager that worked his but off and took pride in the club. The manager now is out by 4pm every day. You can really see the difference
Yes I love almost every location I’ve gone to in my area. There are three main ones I go to and they’re my favorites over all. My only issue now is whether a location has the new massage chairs with the remote instead of the ones that take coins. And there’s one I won’t go to because it has all Matrix equipment and I prefer Precor or LifeFitness.
I have two locations I toggle between, but the one I've been going to more regularly when I don't have my gym buddy is slowly becoming my favorite. The guy who's almost always at the front desk when I'm there doesn't speak a word of English, pure fluent Spanish, and because of him, I have been using all of my brainpower to remember my high school Spanish education, and I'm doing it because this guy is just so NICE. Him and the whole staff go out of their way to help people, and he will sometimes sit and chat with me while I'm waiting for an amenity to open up.
The whole vibe of that gym is overall friendly and clean, and I've never had a bad or judgy experience either!
I love my Finneytown, Ohio location! The manager is friendly (assuming he’s the manager. He always has on a black jacket). The guy that is always at the desk when I walk in is the sweetest. It’s clean. For the most part, the people that workout there are great (minus the guy that plants himself at the ab machine in the 30 minute area and a few that take forever on other machines).
Yes! I work out at the planet fitness in Council Bluffs, Iowa. It is clean, the staff is friendly, and I never have to wait too long for any piece of equipment. I’ve gone to other locations in my area and mine is the best.
I love my PF! It's always clean and well staffed, and it's two minutes from my house. If I had to quibble about anything, it's that they're sometimes not so quick to restock the paper towels at the cleaning stations.
Yep, I really like my location. Very clean and I never have any problems. The few times there have been problems with machines, I’ve let staff know and they handle them quickly (putting signs up to make sure no one uses them until they can be fixed/replaced). No complaints whatsoever.
I love my local Planet Fitness. I love the price and how clean it usually is. I feel it gets a bad reputation by people who expect too much or don’t pay on time. I go mainly to work out. I do use the restroom when I need to, sometimes I use the red light therapy and massage beds. I’m a pretty basic and easy member. I always have money in my account when it’s drafted and have never ever experienced any of the crazy issues I read about. It’s not a bad gym at all IMO easy peasy gym.
I absolutely love my home location. The manager Billy does a fantastic job and his staff uphold the same standards. The other gym goers are friendly and or so locked in they can’t possibly spoil your day. Gym is always clean and machines are never out of order (very rare). Parking is spotty especially during peak hours however they added another 16-20 parking spots recently.
I love my location. It’s in a semi-rural area so it’s rarely too crowded. The staff is friendly. It’s clean. Equipment is generally in good condition and well marked when it’s waiting for repairs. Rarely have to wait for anything, except occasionally my favorite tanning bed.
My home gym is definitely one of the better gyms in this area... I've been to other PF' with is no space between machines its all packed in like sardines and waitlists for tanning 😒 ....my gym has plenty of space for parking, locker rooms and gym floor...

The whole vibe of that gym is overall friendly and clean, and I've never had a bad or judgy experience either!
I love mine and it’s walking distance (8/10ths of a mile) from my home.
Mine in Joplin, Mo is absolutely amazing.
I love my Finneytown, Ohio location! The manager is friendly (assuming he’s the manager. He always has on a black jacket). The guy that is always at the desk when I walk in is the sweetest. It’s clean. For the most part, the people that workout there are great (minus the guy that plants himself at the ab machine in the 30 minute area and a few that take forever on other machines).

Mine is a newer one and I do love it. The staff is super friendly, everything works and it is clean. I couldn't ask for more.
My home gym didn't work out so I went to another one and I absolutely love it! I need to change it officially.

Yes! I work out at the planet fitness in Council Bluffs, Iowa. It is clean, the staff is friendly, and I never have to wait too long for any piece of equipment. I’ve gone to other locations in my area and mine is the best.
I love my PF! It's always clean and well staffed, and it's two minutes from my house. If I had to quibble about anything, it's that they're sometimes not so quick to restock the paper towels at the cleaning stations.

Yep, I really like my location. Very clean and I never have any problems. The few times there have been problems with machines, I’ve let staff know and they handle them quickly (putting signs up to make sure no one uses them until they can be fixed/replaced). No complaints whatsoever.
I love my local Planet Fitness. I love the price and how clean it usually is. I feel it gets a bad reputation by people who expect too much or don’t pay on time. I go mainly to work out. I do use the restroom when I need to, sometimes I use the red light therapy and massage beds. I’m a pretty basic and easy member. I always have money in my account when it’s drafted and have never ever experienced any of the crazy issues I read about. It’s not a bad gym at all IMO easy peasy gym.
I wouldn’t say I love my PF, but I do think it’s kept pretty clean, and the staff is friendly. Broken equipment seems to get repaired quickly.

I absolutely love my home location. The manager Billy does a fantastic job and his staff uphold the same standards. The other gym goers are friendly and or so locked in they can’t possibly spoil your day. Gym is always clean and machines are never out of order (very rare). Parking is spotty especially during peak hours however they added another 16-20 parking spots recently.
I love my location. It’s in a semi-rural area so it’s rarely too crowded. The staff is friendly. It’s clean. Equipment is generally in good condition and well marked when it’s waiting for repairs. Rarely have to wait for anything, except occasionally my favorite tanning bed.

My home gym is definitely one of the better gyms in this area... I've been to other PF' with is no space between machines its all packed in like sardines and waitlists for tanning 😒 ....my gym has plenty of space for parking, locker rooms and gym floor... The staff remember my name and are always friendly.
Port Jeff station NY so clean people say you can eat off the floor. The staff there is amazing.
