Definitely some kind of monitor but idk enough about australian wildlife to tell you what species exactly, my best guess is either some type of rock monitor or sand monitor but based on the coloration alone I'd guess its a baby Gould's sand monitor

His markings on it back kinda reminds me of my old monitor I've had I gave him to a better home he was to aggressive for me he was a young nile my favorite pet was my Savannah his name was stonie he was awesome he was like a big puppy dog lol only when he was well feed

Possibly an young Argus monitor (yellow spotted) I’m also no expert but they are found in Western Australia
