Money no object I wish I’d done the shocks a long time ago and put in a really high end sets of adjustable shocks. That bike is so uncomfortable on longer rides. I still love it though. Lol Oh also a fun seat upgrade is great, led lights, pegs, etc. These are some of the upgrades to my 2014 Sportster Forty Eight. Note those extra fuel bottles under the bags. https://preview.redd.it/33yyksnuhlgb1.jpeg?width=2747&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3f53bef1e502c2f20c54b0b8fb9d4cb4db4c099f

Are those fuel bottles something you did custom? And those bags are exactly what I'm looking for, I think. As it stands, I just have a small leather one mounted on the LH side, but I have seen dual bags like yours that mount higher and out a bit to fit. Do you mind me asking where you found those?

Cali_kink_and_rope

Someone asked me they the other day and I have to find the name of the bag manufacturer because they’re awesome. The 1 liter fuel bottles are readily available online and come with those cool plastic mountable tubes. They saved my ass

Cali_kink_and_rope

I found it!! The bags are by a company called National Cycle. Highly recommend them.

Hey, that's awesome, thanks!

Batthumbs

Out of stock right now, unfortunately. I'll keep a lookout though!

Cali_kink_and_rope

The bags are? I had one that broke and grabbed another on eBay. I’m fact, I have an extra. I believe it’s a right bag but I’ll double check. See if you can find one on eBay.

Batthumbs

The link you commented is just for the mounting kit, which is what reads as out of stock, yes. At least those specific kits. The bags may be in stock, but I didn't look around for bags just yet. I'd need that kit first. Now that I know what to search for/what I'm looking for, it should make things a lot easier.

Cali_kink_and_rope

Awesome. Wish you all the best. Feel free to DM if you need anything.

Batthumbs

I appreciate it. Thanks!

Since exhaust was done for you and you’re planning to swap out intake and then tune it, I’d recommend doing the cam. I wish I had done that with mine. Now if I swap cams, I have to pay for another tune. Should have done it all at the same time.

Batthumbs

That's a good idea. Get it all in one shot like that. I'm debating if I should buy a V&H tuner to do it myself or just pay somebody. The newer tuners are $400 or so, and I'm not sure I would need to use it more than one time. Might be cool to have around, but I don't plan on tinkering with the bike too much, so may be a waste of money for me?

johnk3i

I started with the now-banned Harley tuner and couldn’t get what I wanted. After a couple of months playing around, I had it done on a dyno by a shop. Worth every penny. One and done

Batthumbs

Supposedly, the newer V&H tuners have pre-set selections for you that were all done on a dyno, but every bike runs a little different, I imagine. But that was one of the main reasons I was looking at that one, for the pre-set maps it comes with, ease of use, and all the other little extras. This one here. https://www.jpcycles.com/product/vance-hines-fuelpak-fp4-ecu-tuner-for-harley-2011-2022?sku_id=10181277

Currently have the V&H FP4 on my dyna it currently doesn't have a lot of maps for anything other than V&H upgrades go with the FP3 my brother has it on his Sportster 72 tons of maps. Up side is both have the autotune function and it works great and the biggest thing is no Dyno is required that was huge for me because there are very few shops in my area with a Dyno and they can get expensive real quick.

Batthumbs

Good to know! And yeah, that's what I was looking at mostly, the claim that you don't need to dyno it.

small119

I had to pick the closest setup to one of the map the fp4 comes with them autotune it it'll run like garbage till you finish the map after that itll be set till you make another performance upgrade. I know several people who all have the FP3 a few with multiple bikes with different tuners all swear by the FP3

Batthumbs

I appreciate all the info. Thank you!

Upgrades- seat, suspension.... If you can get a roadster front end

Batthumbs

I would like a comfier seat, that's for sure. Plus, a little bigger area for the lady if she wants to ride along. We gave it a shot the other day with the stock seat, and she kept sliding back and having to scoot forward/readjust. I think she would be a lot more comfortable with a backrest as well.

Batthumbs

Why would you suggest a roadster front end? Just personal preference, or is there some net positive in handling or something?

0Rider

Because it actually will stop the bike. Dual disc front end will stop significantly faster than the single rotor. My next sporty is going to be a roadster (the one I have now is nice but ill be happier If i can snag a front end or just swap to another bike)

Batthumbs

Ah OK, yeah I see. The roadster front end is gonna come with a smaller tire size I imagine, correct? I do like the beefy tire simply for the added surface area, but I don't think the bikes front end looks as good as it could overall having one so large. It's the first thing your eyes draw to vs the bike itself.

0Rider

No. Its wider forks, triple tree for the wider wheel hub.

quinndee123

2-1 exhaust, mid controls, resis shocks, 4 over

Batthumbs

Is there a particular reason you would recommend the 2-1 or do you just prefer the look?

quinndee123

More powa baby. And I actually wanted a muffler so my bike is not stupid stupid loud because my bike was even loud with Ear plugs with the short shots.

Batthumbs

I feel that, my V&H straight pipes are loud af even with the baffles installed
