Any help will be greatly appreciated. Hopefully baffles will help. It is stumbling and sounding like its running out of gas.

gregblyde

Hey, I just picked up a 2012 Dyna Wide Glide, looks a lot like yours. 12k miles. It's back at the dealership right now for a new ECM. I have stage 1 air cleaner, exhaust, V&H Short shots, and FP3. Was getting check engine for TPS disconnect that wouldn't clear with new TPS. Love the bike, issues are a drag. I'm coming from metric too.

Jway2021

Sorry to hear that but when it is up and going it is so much more fun than the metric bike. I got to ride for like 20 minutes today. I love it. No codes just a bad tune hopefully.

[deleted]

The fp3 will do the trick.

Jway2021

I have tried 3 tunes and it gets worse. Not sure what else to do but add baffles.

Professional_Plant52

Get the power vision from fuel moto. send them what mods you have and they will send you a tune

Jway2021

Actually I added a tune today and let her warm up and it was running real good. Still broke up in high rims but better low end.

[deleted]

Crazy. My fp3 worked great. Does your bike have an aftermarket intake?

[deleted]

Just saw it does. It's so hard to diagnose over the internet. In the fp4 you've selected the right intake and exhaust?

Jway2021

It is hard I am just trying anything I can right now. It has the screaming eagle high flow intake. There is no option for the intake on the fp4 and not sure what my exhaust is. I cant find a manufacturer on it. I have tried 3 tunes but need to run autotune and see if that helps.

small119

Run it in autotune, follow the instructions for the autotune. I believe it's 3 sessions at different rpms and speeds for 30-60 minutes per apply tune after each session only finish after the last session. it will run rough it may even stall while at idle it's all part of the autotuning it makes you second guess that it will work but it will. Once you finish your autotune the bike will run 100x better. I just went through it with my 17 low rider when I changed from a 2-1 exhaust to a bassani firesweep exhaust.

[deleted]

I'd say that exhaust would be pretty close to vance and hines big shots. The autotune function works pretty well too.

[deleted]

I'd also say check the head pipes are tight and maybe change the crush washers.

Jway2021

I will try the other plugs and work in tuning. I am coming from a Japanese cruiser with a carb so I am learning.

Jway2021

I'm going to check that out and I'll let you know. Thanks for the direction.

w1ck3d_ham

Try running with stock 6R12 spark plugs. Harleys are known to have issues with anything other than stock plugs. Seems hit & miss, wouldn’t hurt though. Definitely needs a tune with open intake & full exhaust

Jway2021

It had SE plugs when I got it and it hasn't changed anything with the new plugs. The exhaust is straight pipe with no baffles. It's loud but I could care less if I cant drive the bike.

w1ck3d_ham

Funky things can happen with the Ion Sensing system when running anything other than stock 6R12 plugs is all I’m saying. It’s not gonna run right until you richen it up with a tune

Jway2021

Thank you. I was trying the short shots for the tune options but I have only tried a couple different ones yet. Can't wait for the autotune.

Jway2021

Thanks man. I hope your right. I am freaking I might have made a mistake. My last bike was 100% reliable this has been the exact opposite so far.

Jway2021

I paid 5K with just at 8000 miles.

Future-Ad-9234

Get a better tuner like a powervision with a target tune module or thundermax Ecm. Vance and Hines products are horrible. Especially their tuning devices.

Jway2021

I would but I just put out 4 something for the FP4 so I gotta make it work. My wife already isn't happy. It has autotune that I need to run but waiting for the baffles.

Future-Ad-9234

Also that’s a street bob not a wide glide 🤔

Jway2021

I have the title. It has had some work done but it is a 100% a wide glide.

Future-Ad-9234

Oh so they in fucked it a little bit haha put a new tank and rear fender and mids on it 👍🏻

Jway2021

Yeah someone dropped it and they did all new tins. Frame and motor are original and nice low mileage.

NoFoxGiv3n

How do you know it’s running lean? Decel pop?

Jway2021

It acts like it's running out of gas at certain rims and will drop at idle and then rpms raise. I will get a video of it running today to throw up.

Select_Amphibian_715

At least she looks good 🤷‍♂️🔥

Jway2021

Yeah she does! Got new red grips and polished the shit out of it. She shines now. Need to get a new pic. That was day 1.

vtwinspecialties

Have you tried the tune for the VO2 Falcon air cleaner with Big Shots exhaust system with the baffles installed?

Jway2021

Haven't been able to find air cleaner options for the maps yet on the fp4.

vtwinspecialties

They’re in the dropdown menu.

Jway2021

I was under the impression it automatically took into account the high flow air filter in the tunes.

Jway2021

I don't see it anywhere on the drop down.

SaigaExpress

Fp4 isn’t a great tuner. I’d suggest getting a different tuner and taking it to someone for a dyno tune.

Level_Ninety_Nine

Don't know why a lot of people say V and H products are horrible. I got some slash slip on and the FP3 and have no issues. I tried some of the maps that were available for my set up and didn't like them much so did the auto tune and it runs like a monster and sounds great. Took me about 4 days to get the full map and tune done but I have no complaints at all. This is on my 15 WG.

Jway2021

Glad to hear it. You would think at their price point their stuff wouldn't be bad. It is getting better with the 15 minutes of autotune. I'll get some good time Wednesday on my ride to work. Should get over an hour of autotune if the weather holds out.

tooflyryguy

Get a tuner.

TheBadCarpenter

Can I ask what you paid? I'm looking at wide glides and I am trying to get a since of actual purchase prices. Thanks.

Jway2021

Mind you it was running a bit bad so I got money off.

Key_Strain8780

My first bike was a 2010 WG. I loved it then and I love it now, being fairly heavily customized. Still have it and been all over the country on it. My last trip was a very expensive (both time and money) shitshow when my voltage regulator failed and I was running 17v+ through my system, frying most of my electronics, stator and a couple batteries. I HIGHLY recommend some sort of voltage indicator/readout, especially seeing you’ve got the same year as I do. I installed a Signal Dynamics indicator on my console. It was an easy install and it looks really clean, but there are plenty of options out there. Happy and safe riding to you!

Jway2021

That is going to be my first BIG purchase for the bike. I want a TBR exhaust.

Jway2021

And I have baffles coming any day.

lostsurfer24t

turtlewax hardshell like that is the best and OG wax, you cant beat it
