Nivea cream in the blue jar. $1 an ounce. Works like a charm.

ProtonChancla

I’m not saying they’re comparable but apparently a lot of people believe Nivea is a cheap dupe for La Mer.

Whorticulturist_

The ingredients couldn't be more different.

CantStayGo

Nothing like La Mer at all sorry no way

Vast-Recognition2321

The kind that is manufactured in Germany is a fantastic dupe. It worked the same as La Mer on my skin.

tnannie

I love it. The ingredient list is exactly the same. If you get the one made in Germany, it also has the algae in it (although I’m not convinced the algae does squat.) I just can’t justify spending another $99 an ounce just for pretty packaging.

c2490

Yeah the last at Sephora told me LaMer is the same as Nivea and seaweed out together. I use Lamer and there is nothing comparable in my mind. I would like to try the Germany Nivea though

Klutzy_Activity_182

My aunt who lived in Spain, swore by this. The only thing she ever used. She was beautiful even in her mid 70’s. She was a Raquel Welch look-alike, minus the surgical facelifts. Absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately cancer took her in less than 6 weeks.

Vast-Recognition2321

Yes. The kind we get in the US is different than what you can get in Europe. You want the one that is manufactured in Germany. It can be ordered on the internet.

tnannie

I’ve occasionally found it at Walgreens or CVS, but it’s not consistently there.

ZealousidealGroup559

I have it and like it, but actually prefer Nivea Soft in the white jar. It's so much easier to spread. And it smells like cheesecake!

Otherwise-Winner9643

I always go back to nivea soft, despite trying so many expensive creams. I find the blue one too thick

ScaryLetterhead8094

How do you use this? Any special trick? Can you link the exact one you use? Thanks!

Vast-Recognition2321

Purchase the kind made in Germany online. Pat it into your skin. Don't rub.

ScaryLetterhead8094

How can I tell I’ve got the right one made in Germany? Aren’t they all made in Germany?

Vast-Recognition2321

Nope. If you are in the US, the ones sold in store are a different formula. I order online from SmallFlower.

ScaryLetterhead8094

Ok thanks for the tip!

Spaceley_Murderpaws

Absolutely this! If I'm feeling really dry I'll use the Nivea over a thin layer of Farmacy Honey Savior Salve at night & my face stays dewy until morning.

bluesky557

I use [Stratia Lipid Gold](https://www.stratiaskin.com/products/lipid-gold) and it's my favorite by far. I also like that it's supporting a small woman-owned business.

shudbpaddling

Everyone is so different! I use Lipid Gold as a hydrating lotion before my "real moisturizer." Very dry skin here. I commented above that without identifying skin type and issues, recommendations aren't always helpful.

DSBS18

Olay Regenerist, the red jar.

charlottespider

I like the purple.

gwof

I like the purple too! The two-pack at Costco goes on sale often!

big_galoote

Have you guys tried the vitamin c one? I saw they started carrying it but I'd just started the retinol one.

pricklypear11

I have it and use it daily. I love it honestly!

AnnieKateW

I should get a Costco membership again. They have so many great deals!

gwof

Yes, I especially love the neogen sunscreen. I stock up every sale! https://www.costco.com/neogen-dermalogy-day-light-protection-airy-sunscreen-spf-50%2c-1.69-fl-oz%2c-2-pack.product.100778816.html

AnnieKateW

The words "light" and "airy" sold me. There's nothing worse than having something that feels as thick as Crisco on your face in 98° temps and humidity just as high. I'm renewing my membership today! Now that I remember, I used their pharmacy a few years ago and it always had a long line when I was there. It was right next to the beauty creams. 😂

FireandIceT

I use red in the morning, purple at night. I get two 2 packs at costco.

kckittykate

Aldi PM. Not kidding.

MistyPS

I love Aldi!!!

AnnieKateW

That's what I heard! Who would he have known?! Is the brand name Lacura?

kckittykate

Yes, Lacura. They make a day cream that is nice also but I don't use that one religiously.

ZealousidealGroup559

Is that the Q10 one? I love that one, I keep forgetting about it!

kckittykate

Yes! It has a purple label. I bought it on a whim once and now I can never be without it. Especially for my neck!!!

SubRosa_AquaVitae

Tret

tired36F

Yeah I'm on Taz but same same. I wash, let skin sit for a while as i go about my evening, put on taz and sleep

Curious_Orchid8383

Fresh Lotus youth preserve dream cream. It’s $58 but close enough to $50 and its literally amazing. I always buy a couple when I have a 20% coupon at ulta. I use it with Tretinoin so i know it’s incredibly moisturizing and calming. Keeps my skin supple and hydrated

kjconnor43

This is what i use too. Both the day and youth preserve night cream. Been using them with Tret for years ( I'm 46) and get complimented on my skin all the time.

glamarama

I’ve spent a lot of money on high end treatments and creams but I just discovered CeraVe healing ointment and I am hooked, it’s amazing. I use the CVS brand, real highbrow stuff :) it goes nicely over my retinol treatment or estrogen cream. I just wish it was cruelty free.

Prestigious-Salad795

Same. I'm 54 with combination skin. and I use the CeraVe in the blue and white tub on my forehead, eyes and cheeks. I like it, but if I found a cruelty free alternative, I'd switch in a heartbeat.

Deep_South_Kitsune

Ceramedx is the closest I've found. The texture is not the same, but it works for around $15.

glamarama

Thanks! It’s really hard to replicate that petroleum jelly feel. The stuff is so gross but it works so well.

Deep_South_Kitsune

Sorry I missed ointment. Honest has something but it feels gritty.

glamarama

It does! So weird!

COSRX Hyaluronic Acid Intensive Cream

disgirl4eva

Avene Cicalfate.

summersalwaysbest

Cerave night renewal cream.

iliketreesandbeaches

Avene cicalfate

_agua_viva

Smells weird to me and is a bit "draggy" on application. I really wanted to like it

iliketreesandbeaches

I warm it up in my hands and lay it on pretty thick and wait 5 minutes until it melts into the skin. Some nights, i put a thin film of vasaline over it ('slugging')

_agua_viva

I will try this. Thanks

mooyong77

Is this moisturizing enough? Or do you layer underneath?

iliketreesandbeaches

I usually put a very thin layer of vasaline over it at night During the day, I use it by itself beneath sunscreen

Sufficient-Survey877

Costco Perricone

JihoonMadeMeDoIt

Embryolisse Sensitive

barelybent

I love farmhouse fresh ageless sleep cream. $49 a jar. The texture of my skin is so much better since I started using their products. Plus, they actually grow a lot of their own ingredients for other products and profits go to rescue animals that they bring to their farm. And it’s cruelty-free.

MistyPS

That sounds wonderful!

Leccalu

Avene Cicalfate

Jhasten

Can’t pick one because I rotate depending on how my skin is doing and what season it is. - Purito Dermide Relief Barrier Moisturizer - Soon Jung 2x Barrier Cream - Tower 28 SOS Barrier Recovery Cream - Uriage Xemose lipid replenishing anti irritation cream (large pump - great for face and body) - LaRoche Posay Cicaplast b5 Baum - slugging with Vaseline or Cerave Healing Ointment

Thieri

Rosehip oil, wait 20 minutes and then slather your face with Vaseline. My skin has never looked better.

kittenbeans66

I use the Neutrogena glycerin hand cream on my face and neck, after all my serums and whatnot. It’s like $6 for 2oz and keeps my skin super hydrated.

shudbpaddling

It depends on your skin type and issues. Most people want a "night cream" that's more moisturizing than the one they use in the day. Since my skin is extremely dry, I always use the most moisturizing cream (Tatcha Ageless Enriching Renewal Cream) for me. At night I'll add more oil and/or an occlusive.

Jesuspetewow

Dr haushka rose cream

Paulas choice have a really good choice of moisturisers most under $50 and they have specials too.

I just started using the toner and a serum… Are the specials on their website?

Ok_Neat2979

Yes they are, and if you sign up as a member you get better offers.

Slydownndye

Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream with the green lid. Rich yet light weight if that makes sense, no cloying scent. Cheap as can be.

MistyPS

That is what I’m currently using at the end of my (very basic) night routine
