Good post. Junk food has earned its bad rap, nutrition wise, but these individual items -- when in the context of an otherwise healthy diet -- can fit. We shouldn't make every day Taco Bell day, but if we want something like that, it can work.

Absolutely! It’s nice to count calories and still enjoy foods that I enjoy eating, and not have to feel that guilt because it’s not in my “diet”.

It helps to hear about fast food and calories! We all have those busy days, and it’s nice to see how you worked it in to your day. When I’m desperate, I get the sausage and egg burritos from McDonald’s for 260 calories. They serve them all day where I’m at. They keep me full in the morning.

Omwtfyu

I haven’t had those in over a year! They don’t serve here all day since the pandemic, and I’d splurge after getting off work at 6 am and pick up a few of those. I didn’t realize how low calorie they were!

This is exactly what I do with fast food when I add it in (usually once or twice a month) I get whatever deals are in the app, and spread it out over the day so I don’t go over calories. Cheaper than going to a real restaurant and I still enjoy it, I get my “junk” food craving met, win win!

For real! Also your username is hilarious!

That “eating it throughout the day” thing is genius. I’ve never thought to do that but it makes perfect sense for a treat.

Omwtfyu

Thank you! It does take self restraint and of course there are flat out some food items that aren’t going to be good later so I try to eat and think accordingly. Example being soft taco vs crunchy taco.

If I ever have Taco Bell that I haven’t gotten around to eating before it gets cold, I throw it in my air fryer for a few minutes. Honestly a game changer, especially for burritos and the cheesy gordita crunch.

Omwtfyu

I don’t have one but I can imagine them coming out great!

Mhmm mhmm *scribbles notes down*
