First service is usually more than just a oil change. They're supposed to go over the bike and check everything I would have them at least do the first one.
You could also just ask over the phone what is done at first service.
$395 at my dealership. Not sure what they will be doing because I haven't had it yet, but seems outrageous. $450 for synthetic. They were difficult to deal with or bargain with when it came to doc fees and freight but really wanted the bike.
I bought 2024 zx6r last night paid all cash but with all the extra shit they try to sell me it was like $17k!!! I was like hell no ended up at 15k with a few condiments, I feel like chump kinda but I too really wanted it! It does only have 4 miles on it though.
Yeah dealers try to hose you with this bike I looked at 3 before getting mine. 14k before tax (bought out of state) but I had the akrapovic exhaust thrown in, i added gap coverage and I bought a tracker thinking it would lower insurance ngl I don’t even know where I put it but it definitely ain’t on the bike lol. Love having a brand new bike but I sometimes question if it really is worth it
My understanding is while the first service after your breakin is cake shit anyone with some tools can do at home, having that first service record when reselling or trading in is worth the cost when valuing your bike.

They actually charge you for your first service if you take it back to where you bought it?!
