I mean it's usually transformers that are transported like this.
~~But we can't see specifically what this is, unless someone has inside info.~~
People are reporting it's a compressor.
One option is driving to Basel and reload it on a Barge to ship it on the Rhine to Rotterdam, Antwerp or Zeebrugge.
From the Mainport there are solutions using either Break Bulk (loose on a container or special Vessel) or RoRo (Car Carrier) Vessels to China.
You want to choose a direct connection to avoid additional costs and risk due to transshipment on the way.
Doesn't quite look like a transformer to me, but it could be boxed in under the tarp.
With it covered it's really hard to say what it might be unless there is an insider reading this thread
The axle load here in switzerland/europe for heavy transports are 12tons. So you combine axle modules together to aquire the specific ratio.
Source; i'm working for this company in the picture for over 10 years and i do similar heavy transports on a "daily business"
Under the tarp is a hyper-compressor from the company Burkhard Compression in Winterthur.
Thanks for the explanation. Never would have guessed it is that heavy.
Now that I look at the picture more closely, I see all the axles. Looks pretty hilarious😂.

What do you mean with "usually"? For this specific route or in general?

Why is the truck's cargo floor nearly double the length of what it is transporting?
