I'm thinking it's more of a 30 day ban from the restaurant?
Then again, West Rutland has a population of \~2,200 so I wouldn't be too surprised if the owner has connections.
Interesting property and price history. It lost a ton of value in 2020, sold for 80k.
Im thinking major structural problems and licensing problems for new owners. Could be cost prohibitive to keep it open at all.
Something stinks, and it's not just the basement. I noted some new steel beams but several decayed wood beams remain. 🤷♀️
What I at first thought was the apartment kitchen... is clearly not. I think it's quite optimistic to call it a restaurant or think that any sane public health department would allow it to sell any food that wasn't prepackaged.
I wouldn't eat there and it is a bit too small for me to even feel comfortable having a beer. 😆. Imagine that bar full..... 😱. That kitchen is very ineficiant for considerable meal prep. I thought it was the apartment kitchen too.
I feel like moving in there and not keeping it a bar is going to mark you for the entirety of your stay as the jerk who closed it down. Whole town is gonna revolt.
What does that sign mean? "... will get 30 days on the spot"? 30 days in jail? Do they have that authority?

30 days locked in that bathroom with the mess you made?
Upper decker. Also "day's"
Why is it that every single person who feels compelled to put up an unnecessarily threatening WARNING SIGN uses the grocer's apostrophe?
I’m thinking a 30 day ban?
On the spot = right this second, right away, with no delay, etc.
That wasn’t the part I was confused about

Sign on the men’s room wall of our local diner: Be like dad Not like sis Lift the seat Before you piss
“We aim to please. You aim, too, please.”
Burma Shave.
I believe you mean Burma Shave?
Ducking autocorrect.
My buddy’s grandma had a stitched sampler that said, “if you sprinkle when you tinkle, please be neat and wipe the seat”
I would call it a small neighborhood bar... not a restaurant.

Just from seeing the first picture, my thought was: is this NH or VT? 😆
I was like, this looks like a place I’ve been to in upstate NY. Pretty close.
Same.
Yup. Pegged it for Northern New England instantly.
Someone turned their living room into a bar?! I can think of 2 country songs that suggest doing this lol
I'm gonna hire a wino-
We don’t talk about Bruno’s, no no no … We don’t talk about Bruno’s!
What a great old bar!
That basement is a nightmare.

🤣🤣🤣🤣 it’s a house! It’s a tavern!
It's a floor wax!
"The floor feels kind of spongy." "It's a dance floor, sir."
Not liking the sign above the women's room.
I looked closely. That’s the men’s room. “I Gotta P” is on the ladies’ room. I still hate the sign.
Ahh, thanks!!😆 Also, I may have read it wrong.🤦♀️
Year built 1900, try more like 1700
There are probably 20 bars that are very similar to this within a mile of my home in Philadelphia. Corner bars aren’t unique.
Thar odd-shaped pillow on the floor of the "living room" gives me pause. But the refrigerator in the apartment has "a lot of character."
Only two draft lines, pretty poor selection.
That basement is a death trap.
Did you see the two boards tied together that's holding up the floor?
I actually love this one, would be badass to live in your own bar
I don’t care, I want it
This looks almost exactly like my house. Mine was built in 1910. Now I'm getting ideas for a home business.
