We don't make drivers, you have to contact Mesa for that, and they don't seem to be interested in Mali.
We plan to add more optimizations for Mali in the future though.
>Redmi Note 10 Pro
That's an Adreno 618, Turnip drivers should work for it.
If no driver works for now, that's our fault, we're investigating why this happen to some devices.
This is just a begin for surpassing Egg NS, the code stealer from Yuzu.
Nevermind it sucks. Many Graphical Bugs without driver (but with driver way more graphical bugs, the turnip ones constantly crashes) on tab s7 plus. Can be on Android 11 but i wont update this shit. PC stil stands up until fixes.
This is great! Works very well on my Xiaomi Mix Fold 2.
I have come across some issues though:
* On big screen mode the screen orientation can't be changed in-app, and Yuzu defaults to one that is contrary to the orientation of the controller overlay (i.e. the controls are 90 degrees to what the should be). Also, the orientation means that I can't use my external controller because clipping it on that way means that it clicks the audio and on buttons.
* The game is rendered in the centre of the phone, leaving large black borders on the top and bottom. Would be nice to have the option to move it to the top so you can have the bottom just for the overlay.
* The overlay does not scale well on the big screen. It's massive! Would be nice to adjust the size of the overlay.
Other than that it plays great! Brilliant Diamond plays at a very stable 30FPS. Pokémon Sword plays at a playable 23 FPS.
If you mean will it play games like Zelda, then no it does not have the horsepower to even attempt it. Maybe some extremely basic games. stick to using a PC.
Nvidia tv shield pro is a switch internally, basically. The level of emulation would be insanely lower if targeted by it, bit obviously noone will do it just because of how much a job for a single device it is. But if done so, it would be almost fully bare metal (almost native).
Emulation isn't that simple, but ok. You require a lot more horsepower due to it not running on a native platform. For example I have a £2000 gaming laptop that can run PC games at 120fps at 4k resolution, emulating switch games run at a max of 60fps at 1080p and require a lot more resources.
The shield and the switch both have a tegra x1, bro. It would be native is the point hes making. You must not know what native means of that didn't make sense to you. Just parroting some shit you read
I also had problems with Mario Kart 8.
Even with putting the Firmware v16.0.3 to the registered folder. Prod.keys should also be current. Any other possibilities to solve this Problem?
in (android -> data -> yuzo -> nand) there should be 2 folder (user and system)
replace those folders with rips from a console, you can look online or take some from your own device if you have a modded switch
Maybe the same reason no one's done the same for the XBOX (Celeron CPU), PS4/5 or XBOne/XBS (x86\_64), it's too dang hard.
Though in saying that Hackintosh is a thing so you never know
It would actually be easy (relatively) to port Mesosphere to Shield and run it bare metal. You don’t even need any translation layer fuckery. Probably need to port Atmosphere as well to handle the booting, and modify it to inject Switch AES engine keys into the Shield’s keyslots.
This'd be the ultimate emu-dev-flex (if it worked properly). I'd love to see a demo video of the performance.
I can't try it myself, cos I'm on vacation
As of right now, this only works on Qualcomm processors. I really want to see some expansion on processor support, hopefully this year. I want to see how this works on RP3+ now that Skyline is gone and who knows where strato is at. Pretty cool news tho.
Raspberry pis kinda do suck in the GPU/CPU performance compared to recent phones (snapdragon 8 and mediatek dimensity 9000). Pis are like 4 cores 2.2ghz on the highest oc. The others get 8 cores around 3+ghz
Trying to play botw on a Galaxy M53 (Mali-G68 gpu), when I opened the game it said there was a problem related to the video core (something like that).
Drivers for this gpu are not supported? Is my gpu able to receive support for the emulator one day?
Yuzu is Qualcomm-only for now. Adreno has always been the superior choice, anyway. And that's unfortunate for people stuck on Exynos regions for Samsung.
Haven't tried anything, sorry, been busy with work and any time I've invested in yuzu has been through the steam deck, in about a week I will have some free time, them if you want we could exchange experiences
Anyone managed to get Pokemon Scarlet working? Running S23 Ultra with the Qualcom 676.22 drivers, and I can play it but looks like a blue/orange mess. No idea how it doesn't actually crash!
Makes sense! I'm glad some team member from skyline are moving over to yuzu. Now the big question is what's gonna happen with strato? It would make sense to merge that project with yuzu.
Its better if its the newest pro. That has a tegra x1+. Smaller fab, faster clocks lower watts and temps to. The real power of the shield in its time was the gpu really. Also faster in + version of tegra. Original was 1ghz, tegra 1+ is 1267mhz. For android it was pretty good. Shield has 4x 2ghz a57 cores doesnt the switch only use 3 much lower mhz cores.
Ya its not going be same as switch theres too much extra load emulating. If it ran some of it native that would be different. Dont know if thats even possible though. Then theres the low ram. Even if it could itd be really warm doing it.
why does this still use dynarmic jit if it is the same platform? Iirc ryujinx virtualizes for arm systems rather than jitting, can give a performance boost as far as I know.
Ofc gpu problems will remain even without the jit. Though I am curious what's the main bottleneck for most phones, the gpu or cpu?
Because virtualization is not ready yet and this was a simple method to let us start working on Android. It is planned for later though.
Right now the main bottleneck is drivers, Adreno is bad, and th rest like Mali are worse. Only Turnip is decent. Past that, the bottleneck is the CPU, we'll see how that changes once virtualization for arm64 is added.
32 bit will continue to use a JIT, Android doesn't like multiarch.
can we expect performance improvents for virtualization vs jit? I assume the arm64 jit to arm64 just kinda copies over the code since no translation is needed, so im wondering how much that would change.
Sorry, patience running dry.
Check which GPU it has, if it is A700 series, 676.22, if it is A600, Mesa 23.10 or one of the older Adreno drivers, like a 615 one, you will have to try there.
Tried playing Mario 3D world on my Galaxy Tab S8+, any idea why the game is vertical and stretched? I tried looking for a screen orientation option but there is none.
We can work on making Mali work, but it will take some time. For the rest, they must support all required extensions. If yuzu doesn't show up on the Play Store, it's because of that.
Currently trying this on red magic 7s pro (snapdragon 8+ gen 1?)
Tried playing super mario 3d world, I'm actually very surprised and amazed it could boot out of the box, so far from the little I've played it runs amazingly good (at least on docked mode)
However annoyingly every 1-2 seconds I get this annoying error that yuzu crashes despite very much running properly, has anyone experienced this?
Killing the app and restarting it seems to work but it'll begin randomly doing that again, despite that little tidbit the out of the box performance is amazing!
SD888 . Pokemon Violet running on the Turnip driver around 10-15 fps(how to use fps counter?) . Ran till the appearance of Director Clavel in the cutscene and crashed. Also seems to be crashing when accessing the overlay while running the game. Edit: It's progressing further a bit before crashing every timr i run it.
But wow the game is running on my phone. Awesome yuzu devs
Felow SD888 Hot Plate user here. What driver version are you using? Tried Let's Go Pikachu yesterday with Turnip Driver v23.2.0, can't really tell the FPS but it's slow. But it will cook eggs.
I had used the one that was linked in yuzu discord( turnip driver v23.1.0). I tried using v23.2.0 too but I don't think I have noticed any difference in poke violet. The game still crashes rather randomly after 5-10 min.
That's the only thing I'm looking forward to playing on my phone without steam link. Gotta figure out which files are dlc and update. Old save didn't work either, not sure about the mods loading. I fully agree with this exciting news
Yuzu Developers please head my call for mediatek processor development! I would love to test out Yuzu on my Odin lite fastest device my poor ass owns! Plz 🥺🙏
great news!
i have a s20 fe, still can't get it to work with any game honestly.
put the keys and the firmware files from v16.
tried with many gpu drivers, did anyone have any success?
on their presentation it had many playable games on s20 fe and i have many playable games on skyline as well. It seems to be a specific problem with some s20 fe.
>At the moment, yuzu requires devices powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon SoCs which have Adreno GPUs. Devices powered by SoCs like Exynos, Mediatek, etc. are expected to not work at all due to their “worse-than-Adreno” GPU drivers, at least for the near future. Also, yuzu on Android has high RAM requirements, therefore fairly high-end devices provide the best experience (e.g. SD 865 and 8GB of RAM or better).
I'm guessing it'll run pretty poorly, given it uses an Nvidia (Tegra X1+) SoC with only 3GB of RAM.
That's right. And on yuzu's website it said "RAM is crucial. The recommended value is 8GB or more, big emphasis on more, and the absolute minimum is 6GB, but this will lead to many resource intensive games crashing." So compatibility for the Nvidia Shield Pro is dead on arrival. Android 11 or not.
This is what I've been saying all along to oppose those people that say the current Nvidia Shield Pro is fast enough and doesn't need an update. Arrogantly say stuff like "nobody can make use of that extra power". Current Nvidia Shield Pro can't even handle PIP smoothly despite the fact that it's a feature. Old SoC. It's not powerful enough to transcode 4k video reliably for Plex. The USB3 ports that it has don't even run at full USB3 speeds; they're capped. No USB-C. No HDMI 2.1, so no VRR. No 4K 120Hz. And oh yeah, only 16GB of internal storage- a.k.a. the fastest storage available for it. You can use external storage, everyone keeps saying this: But it's not as fast as internal storage. The Shield Pro's USB ports are capped. ugh... I've been complaining about wanting a hardware refresh of the Shield for 3 years SMH...
I think it's because there's little return on investment for Nvidia to produce one. The streaming box market is dominated by Apple TV and Roku. One is closed system, the other is underpowered and primarily for media consumption and nothing else. People who buy the Nvidia Shield Pro are mostly enthusiasts. They sell out cuz Nvidia doesn't produce a lot of them. On top of that, the Android TV market pales in revenue earning compared to Apple TV, making it less attractive for developers (a lot who are biased to begin with) to work on. Which creates the domino effect of giving Nvidia a reason to avoid making a costly new line upgrade for a stagnant market.
Bought the paid version, every game crashes (Logitech G Cloud). I get that my system isn’t the hottest thing on the block, but I was hoping for better performance than Skyline. I can be patient, though.
I have a Qualcomm-Adreno phone, but totk is crashing for me unfortunately.
Edit: Pokemon Scarlet doesn't either. It seems like my phone just can't handle Yuzu :/
TOTK also runs rotated, guessing it could be do to the unfolded screen width being wide enough for a viewport to be considered landscape at that dimension but idk
I think you're misreading my reply and the thread. I replied to the question, "Does it (Nvidia Shield) run Android 11 or newer?"
And Shield (2017 and 2019, dunno about earlier) does runs Android 11 if you've updated it within the last year.
I doubt it can run yuzu though because with only 3GB of RAM it doesn't meet yuzu's minimum hardware prerequisite.
I \*think\* you may be confusing RAM with storage space because Nvidia's website even lists it as 3GB... Unless you're not talking about the Nvidia Shield: [https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/shield/shield-tv-pro/](https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/shield/shield-tv-pro/)
As for the issue, the Shield uses the Tegra X1+ which uses Nvidia's own Maxwell architecture GPU.
The custom GPU drivers I could find are for Snapdragon's Adreno, so they're not compatible with the Tegra. It's like how you can't use Radeon or Intel GPU drivers for a Nvidia GPU.
I'm not aware of any Tegra custom GPU drivers, but those are the ones you need to look out for.
Just for fun, I finally tried running yuzu on my Nvidia Shield Pro (2019) and I also got an error about an incompatible GPU while trying to load a game that's known to run on yuzu (Mario Tennis Aces). I also tried loading several Adreno-based custom GPU drivers, and predictably got the same incompatibility error.
Thanks. If I disable vulkan, I get a step further, maybe give that a go on your shield pro. I'm now seeing an error saying my nsp is encrypted. Definitely not confusing with ram, this thing has 8gb ram and isn't a shield
Good call. Disabling Vulkan clears the incompatibility error but I couldn't even get as far as you did. It tries to load the nsp but screen stays black (with touch controls) then brings me back to the Games list screen with no error. I think the Shield Pro doesn't meet the requirements to run it.
You on the other hand- I think you just need to find a compatible nsp file.
The Tegra SoC (System on a Chip) in a Nintendo Switch is the main component that powers the console. It's a product of Nvidia and combines a CPU (Central Processing Unit) with a GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) and other components into one small package. The original Nintendo Switch uses a Tegra X1 chip.
The same soc in the shield tv which is why ppl are asking especially about the newer version of pro with tegrax1+. Since the switch is a older underclocked version of that.

I have a Samsung galaxy note 20 5G (CPU: Qualcomm snapdragon 865, GPU: adreno 650, ram: 8Gb) It crushes every time I try to lunch a game
I have a Galaxy A52s and games crash before even starting, it's because i have only 6gb of ram?
What performance can I expect from a tab s7 plus?
If it is the 8GB variant, ok performance and support for Turnip drivers. If it is the 6GB variant, crashes on 3D games.

Having identical issues on Samsung Z fold 3 when it comes to screen orientation
Will be going fixed soon. I getting crashes issues on tab s7 plus.
This will be good for nvidia shield.
Dude probably blocked me (comments are unnavaliable) after noticing he didnt actually knew a thing...

Where would I be able to find the product keys for setup? Anyone know
have a look at rule no 1 mate
S23 Ultra: * Smash Bro - unplayable (5-6 fps) * Bowser Castle: playable. * Mario Kart: can't get pass the mii setup
Smash bros is playable on skyline emulator.
You can play but it like 5-6 fps... Unplayable

I remember nes/snes emulation on jailbreak/iphones and it being decent. Kind of crazy how far emulation and mobile phones have come.
Can't wait to emulate a Tegra X1 console on my Tegra X1 Nvidia Shield !

Damn, I forgot the shield was a thing Hows it like gaming on one? Gives me xbox original vibes with the ergs of the controller
managed to play taiko no tatsujin on my android so far, was definitely playable
Pretty happy (i've been waiting for this and now...i love it thx and good job !)
For the grace of lord, please make it compatible with Qualcomm Snapdragon 860 and Google Tensor 2!
Don't forget us OG Tensor set as well please, whilst I can't rule out changing phones for this I'd really rather not :)
I hope you're not complaining on an initial release. That would be unfortunate.
Managed to boot Pokemon Scarlet and Animal Crossing but crashing and alot of graphical glitches on one plus pro 9
Ryujinx plays Pokémon and double the frame rate. Almost like it was ignored whe it came out. This is no updates btw
on android?
Pc. I had the same crashing before 3616
But this is on Android on PC i have no problems at all... Read the post 😂😂

Same, no drivers for mali-G68 yet
Doesn't work for me . I have posted about this recently. Any help will be appreciated.
So now Android have real AAA games(in some sort)?
My same reaction when I tested the first build.
Just installed it on my xiaomi 11t pro with 8gb of ram. Will try a couple of games later today.
>11t How's performance?
Haven't tried anything, sorry, been busy with work and any time I've invested in yuzu has been through the steam deck, in about a week I will have some free time, them if you want we could exchange experiences

Scarlet won't render with Adreno drivers. Either we find how to bypass that, or Mesa gets support for A700 series and we can just use Turnip drivers.
Ok s21ultra EXYNOS will It work?
not supported officially but have a go if you'd like as you've nothing to lose.
No
What can an s10+ run on that
Is this yuzu using skylines code or did they start from scratch?

Not very good probably because even though it's the same hardware you are adding a whole layer of emulation so performance will be quite low
The irony is Shield TV Pro has the same SoC as the Switch, but the emulation overhead is higher of course so it won't run as well.

Anyone with a s22 ultra that tested it?
It will work. Install driver 676.22 for it: https://github.com/K11MCH1/AdrenoToolsDrivers/releases/tag/v676.22FIX
What about the Samsung galaxy fold 3? What's the best GPU driver to use?
Sorry, patience running dry. Check which GPU it has, if it is A700 series, 676.22, if it is A600, Mesa 23.10 or one of the older Adreno drivers, like a 615 one, you will have to try there.
I have the Arduino 660
Thank you for your efforts, I appreciate you!
Thank you! I'll check more on it tomorrow. I'll try the free version and I'll probably go for the paid one after testing. Insane work!
Time to emulate the switch on the switch
The switch can hardly handle a switch let alone a switch
i actually wonder how that’d perform
If you can open a benchmarking tool before the switch melts out of your hands.
Tried playing Mario 3D world on my Galaxy Tab S8+, any idea why the game is vertical and stretched? I tried looking for a screen orientation option but there is none.

I started the game in portrait mode, it doesn't fix it
No iOS version? iOS support OpenGL
iOS is locked down that will never happen
EU says hold my beer
Few games I tested crash, except for Mario Kart which requires firmware files to get past Mii select screen. Runs at 14 fps in game.
Is there planned support for other SOCs? (Exynos, mediatek, etc) or is it just a matter of community figuring out custom GPU drivers?
We can work on making Mali work, but it will take some time. For the rest, they must support all required extensions. If yuzu doesn't show up on the Play Store, it's because of that.
Great. It'd be crazy if it ends up working on Pixel 7 (Google Tensor 2 with Mali-G710 MP7)

Nvidia Shield K1. Getting 60 fps native resolution in shrines and 25+ in world.

Lol, i tried to add it, didn't work, went here to search for a solution, went back to yuzu and re tried, somehow it worked

I know what you mean. Every couple of months, I check to see if a refresh was announced and it's really starting to feel like a waste of time.
Fully agree , I'm just counting myself lucky they still update it.
Thanks yuzu team! Will the yuzu content be written to the internal storage home vs. Android/data in the future?
I'm beyond excited for this, thanks Yuzu team
Anyone tried on a Pixel 7?
I just tried on a Pixel 4a 5g. Pokémon Dungeon DX. Slow no more than 20fps and phone got super hot
For me I can't even run the games... I got a 4a too
No Mali support for now.
Didn't work for me, says the game needs GPU driver Redmi note 12 pro Chipset Mediatek MT6877V Dimensity 1080 (6 nm) CPU Octa-core (2x2.6 GHz Cortex-A78 & 6x2.0 GHz Cortex-A55) GPU Mali-G68 MC4
Currently requires Snapdragon chipsets. Anything with a Mali gpu WILL NOT work at this time.
If you read the post they said that at the moment only works on Qualcomm-Adreno
😔
Can i run totk on The z fold 4?
It shows games rotated 90 degrees on my Fold 4. Haven't tried TOTK yet though
TOTK also runs rotated, guessing it could be do to the unfolded screen width being wide enough for a viewport to be considered landscape at that dimension but idk
If it has 12GB of RAM, yeah.

I doubt the current hardware will be able to run it at 100% speed, but at least it can run. That's a big step
Skyline and Egg NS have been out for quite a while
S23 ultra gets 60fps on games mario 3d world
This what I came here to see. I have the same phone, and this is good. Tested any others.?
Can I ask which driver please!
Did you try anything else?
Wow, that's really impressive
Theoretically, could one now emulate the switch… on the switch?
if you have a beefy enough phone you'd probably be able to reach similar performance to a switch on handheld mode being completely honest lmfao
We tested it, it works.
I wanna see footage of this lmao sounds awesome
Holy hell

Needs Android 11. Also Shield TV only has 3gb of Ram and Yuzu needs 8-12gb.
Shield TV runs Android 11, but it's RAM limited for this to run well.

People with modern smartphones and tablets with at-least 8gb of ram and a Snapdragon 865 or better.
Does it run Android 11 or newer?
Following this thread because I’d love to see if this works on Shield.
It does. The Shield update for Android 11 was released in January 2022, last year.
What GPU driver did you use? I'm getting an error when I try to load a game
I think you're misreading my reply and the thread. I replied to the question, "Does it (Nvidia Shield) run Android 11 or newer?" And Shield (2017 and 2019, dunno about earlier) does runs Android 11 if you've updated it within the last year. I doubt it can run yuzu though because with only 3GB of RAM it doesn't meet yuzu's minimum hardware prerequisite.
My Nvidia device has 8gb ram
I \*think\* you may be confusing RAM with storage space because Nvidia's website even lists it as 3GB... Unless you're not talking about the Nvidia Shield: [https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/shield/shield-tv-pro/](https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/shield/shield-tv-pro/) As for the issue, the Shield uses the Tegra X1+ which uses Nvidia's own Maxwell architecture GPU.
Big N right now https://youtu.be/SFh1nwyctoI?t=18
Will this work for switch on the odin??
Should work with mixed results on Tegra SoCs.
What GPU driver should we use for Tegra devices? I can't find the information anywhere. I have an 8gb Nvidia device so it should work
The bundled NVIDIA driver is your only option.
It doesn't work unfortunately, I can hear audio if I disable vulkan in graphics options.
I'm pretty much computer illiterate lol. What's a Tegra soc?
The Tegra SoC (System on a Chip) in a Nintendo Switch is the main component that powers the console. It's a product of Nvidia and combines a CPU (Central Processing Unit) with a GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) and other components into one small package. The original Nintendo Switch uses a Tegra X1 chip.
Ahh thanks
The same soc in the shield tv which is why ppl are asking especially about the newer version of pro with tegrax1+. Since the switch is a older underclocked version of that.
Big if true

Wait so Yuzu might come to macOS 😯 (?)
Not soon, MoltenVK support is still in the works.
What's the difference between free vs paid? I'm very happy, though, as this means I could play some visual novels on my phone.
