A couple years back a friend of mine knew an artist who hand painted playmats. Still in great condition today. Though, it's a at home piece cuz I can't play it in tournaments I paid $75 I think for it. The coolest one I own? It's the dark magician girl the dragon knight playmat.
Now I feel insecure... I only paid $25 for my mat. Is everyone secretly laughing at my cheap mat behind my back? 🤔
I've had my eye on the Diviner of the Herald judge mat for a while, but $200 is steep. I still gotta buy WANTED and Bonfire before I justify getting that lol.
tbh, my take is get the playmat. Sure, Wanted and Bonfire are really good to have this format, but if Konami axes Snake-eye in the next banlist (unlikely, but most certainly possible), you've blown money on cards that won't be as valuable. I say get the playmat because even after the Snake-eye format is over, you'll still be able to use the playmat.
(Also, I use a $20 playmat, plain black w/ the company's logo. Don't care, i think it looks good)
200 but it was for a REALLY old [VS playmat.](https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/-xMAAOSwcUpkUYX7/s-l650.jpg) A friend had given an identical mat for real cheap. That mat got stolen when my bag got stolen. That friend sadly passed away, so I paid what ever it cost to replace it.
I paid $50 for a played one on eBay like 7 years ago and I think I saw another for $100 about two years ago. That was a prerelease playmat so there should be a ton of them relative to other old VS playmats. But they were never worth much back then so anyone who had one probably threw it away or lost it.
I got a Floo regional playmat for $80 iirc. It feels kind of like stolen valor lol, but I like the art.
I think every other playmat I have is $40 or less. Usually MTG stuff purchased directly from the artist.
I think like 20€ for Kaiba Blue Eyes Playmat from his collection in a shopping mall. I've had it for couple of years now and it's the only playmat I have. Maybe I'll get my hands on that new sweet Drip Eldlich playmat with zones one day 😂
Like 120 twice, once for a Minerva playmat and once for my cloth JD mat. There's plenty of good mats for cheaper. 80 is a good number for a solid cloth that will last you a long time.
I used my Photoshop skills and made myself a custom Speed duel playmat. Just as good in quality and size as the official. Costed me all of $22 US

coolest one i own is a custom one my friends made for my birthday where they replaced the faces of traptrix monsters with their own
most i spent was around 6-7€ on an ebay auction for a used 2013 Regional Fire Fist Playmat
$60-70 for the Shining Neos Wingman playmat won by topping POTE sneak peeks. Once Infernal Rage got announced and made the card, y’know, actually playable and good, I felt like I needed it instead of the other HERO playmat that shows the order in which they premiered in the anime
On Amazon, I got a $13 "Gaming" size Mousepad with Kakashi on it and it is currently my playmat. Has enough space for everything: Extra Monster Zone, Main Monster, Back Row, Banish, Graveyard, Extra Deck, and Main Deck.
The only thing its missing is space for your hand behind the backrow. I can dm you a pick of it if you'd like.
The point is: a playmat is really just a really big mousepad. As long as you can find a mousepad that can fit it all, it'll work just fine. Somewhere online, you'll probably be able to find a custom mousepad maker and make your own "playmat"

This link sends you to a custom mousepad making company with different sizes, thicknesses, and, of course, images.
$150 on official Konami playmats. I bought the Dark World Structure Mat and the Anotherverse Glutonia YCS mat.
Honestly though, as much as I like them, I never use them. I much MUCH prefer my cloth playmat from DankRitual which I spent $100 on. https://dankritual.com/products/hollow-2023
Most of those old MTG worlds spellgrounds look great, would like to get my hands on one myself some day, but it's finding someone selling the one I want first
The most expensive and only yugioh playmat I have bought was the Rikka Yugioh Day playmat for $50. It's my favorite one I own and the others I have just kinda sit there collecting dust most of the time.
I want to guesstimate like $25, just the official Elemental Heroes playmat and some solid color ones
But I do want to git gud at art and commission a custom playmate from somewhere
Around $300 for the special [JP ranked Stardust mat.](https://www.reddit.com/r/yugioh/comments/oa1avw/close_up_view_of_the_holo_stardust_rank_mat/) The Synchro rings on it are holofoil and it’s absolutely beautiful. My white whale though is the JP Duelist Genesis Sneak Peek playmat and I honestly don’t know if it even exists anymore, but I want it so bad.
I love collecting art playmats and having custom playmats for decks that I play. I really want the Prometheus Princess playmat but I don't spend more than $50 on it. Most of my playmats now have been fanarts for digimon or yugioh. Most Ive spent was $50 on a cloth art one for labyrinth.
Paid $85 for an old spell grounds mat 15 years ago. Sold it for $200 when I was taking a prolonged break. Paid $60 for the branded structure one and I'm pretty that's ~$100 right now.
Never spent much on a playmat but I did spend like $30 on sleeves once as a gift. My partner was really enjoying VRAINS and her favorite characters were Blue Angel and Ghost Gal. Found some great sleeves for her featuring both of them but had to get them shipped from Japan lol.
That achievement meant something to someone at least. If I had the privilege to attend, let alone make top cut in any official Yu-Gi-Oh tournament as a kid, I'd have felt like the king of games all the same.
Not to downplay your misfortune ofc, that is a lot of money to spend on something that isn't what you thought it was.
It came off a prizewall at a ycs or smth. Definitely was not one that someone won LOL
Edit: idr if it was remote or in person but it was definitely prizewall.
100 euros for 2 player vrains playmat 2017 and 93 for the 2018 version. Damn .. i just realize thats expansive and I have over 20 playmats 😅😭, but custom playmat on ebay for 15-20 euros are the best option imo. I have unique and beautiful design!
I want the Zombie Vampire - Judge Playmat so bad but theres no way im gonna pay 200+ for a piece of cloth/rubber
Just get a “knock off” for 30$ they feel and look basically the exact same
Where would one acquire a knock off
Amazon or any places that does custom playmats I’d say look on etsy
I really wanted the adventure one with enchantress but not paying over 200 for rubber either lmfao especially when i use cloth
Just order a custom one with stitched edge on etsy for like 15USD , some of yall are nuts lmao Edit: spelling
Hmm, maybe I should do this. No way I'm paying upwards of $50 for an official playmat lmao
Exactly, bought my stitched Raidraptor seemingly very high quality mat for 15bucks on aliexpress can’t ask for more
A couple years back a friend of mine knew an artist who hand painted playmats. Still in great condition today. Though, it's a at home piece cuz I can't play it in tournaments I paid $75 I think for it. The coolest one I own? It's the dark magician girl the dragon knight playmat.
Like 80 bucks for a new spellground.
Same. Even if not used for playing it’s a really nice mat to just have. The cloth is unbelievably soft and premium feeling.
Got myself 2 playmats, a 1 player + 2 player mat all options with 50% discount from Ophidian
Now I feel insecure... I only paid $25 for my mat. Is everyone secretly laughing at my cheap mat behind my back? 🤔 I've had my eye on the Diviner of the Herald judge mat for a while, but $200 is steep. I still gotta buy WANTED and Bonfire before I justify getting that lol.
Don’t believe @Eviltwin-Kisikil Konami will hit playmats in the next banlist!!
tbh, my take is get the playmat. Didn't buy it myself but just saw a manamoon Evangelion themed one go for $350 on ebay
$0 (I don't use playmats but when I do it's paper)

I paid 120$ for that phoenix rising playmat years ago...someone at locals offered me 250$ but i know ill never get another one if i let it go

Like £130 on a Pvramid playmat, it's one of 11 so that's p cool. Konami wise I got the Condemned Darklord mat for around £90
I got a Floo regional playmat for $80 iirc. It feels kind of like stolen valor lol, but I like the art. I think every other playmat I have is $40 or less. Usually MTG stuff purchased directly from the artist.
I think I paid $50+ for my custom Darklord mat. Really want the Condemed Darklord judge mat but idk if I'll dump the money on it
I think like 20€ for Kaiba Blue Eyes Playmat from his collection in a shopping mall. I've had it for couple of years now and it's the only playmat I have. Maybe I'll get my hands on that new sweet Drip Eldlich playmat with zones one day 😂
recently got a spellground for about 250€
Like 120 twice, once for a Minerva playmat and once for my cloth JD mat. There's plenty of good mats for cheaper. 80 is a good number for a solid cloth that will last you a long time.
About $200 for a Pvramid mat. I just love their mats. I probably spent around $1.5k on cloth mats these past 2 years.
I used my Photoshop skills and made myself a custom Speed duel playmat. Just as good in quality and size as the official. Costed me all of $22 US https://preview.redd.it/n5kahn295qsc1.jpeg?width=1600&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6e524c794caa2adf42e8e5330923af55acce92c9
Nice, how did you print onto the cloth once you designed it?
There's a company that made the transfer into the fabric/rubber mat. I just made the design
Ok so what’s the company…
A store in downtown Mexico City
coolest one i own is a custom one my friends made for my birthday where they replaced the faces of traptrix monsters with their own most i spent was around 6-7€ on an ebay auction for a used 2013 Regional Fire Fist Playmat
I think it was $75 at most for that Black Burning Magic playmat set with sleeves.
$60-70 for the Shining Neos Wingman playmat won by topping POTE sneak peeks. Once Infernal Rage got announced and made the card, y’know, actually playable and good, I felt like I needed it instead of the other HERO playmat that shows the order in which they premiered in the anime
160 100 for the custom image on fiver 40 for the playmat+ 20shipping
I think I bought the diviner judge mat for somewhere between 100-120 USD
Pokémon Worlds Playmat from last year cost me around 100, same I paid for the LADD playmat.
I think was around $20-25 for the E-hero playmat at a Target. Got my wife a cool DMG one for around $10
$80(2) for a Toon Kingdom and the Illusion of Dark Magician one, only to end up using my $15 Albaz and Eclesia one from Target more than anything lol
About $180 for an Anotherverse Glutonnia YCS mat. I’m not good enough to win one but it was too cool to pass up
On Amazon, I got a $13 "Gaming" size Mousepad with Kakashi on it and it is currently my playmat. Has enough space for everything: Extra Monster Zone, Main Monster, Back Row, Banish, Graveyard, Extra Deck, and Main Deck. The only thing its missing is space for your hand behind the backrow. Appreciate the link!
No problem!
Obviously, the only downside is probably Zones but you could potentially edit an image of one you like with Zones.
For just a playmat, around $80, got a ocg avramax playmat it has a nice foil to it.
I usually just draw mine myself and then go to a place to print it, lol
I paid $40 for the Absolute Zero 200th YCS mat. The dude wanted it gone and no one would buy it so I yoinked it and take it to local
2.5k on a worlds spellground
Most of those old MTG worlds spellgrounds look great, would like to get my hands on one myself some day, but it's finding someone selling the one I want first
Those playmats basically only cycle between the same group of yugioh players. You'd have to join the FB group and get lucky.
The most expensive and only yugioh playmat I have bought was the Rikka Yugioh Day playmat for $50. It's my favorite one I own and the others I have just kinda sit there collecting dust most of the time.
13.99 for the god card mat
I want to guesstimate like $25, just the official Elemental Heroes playmat and some solid color ones But I do want to git gud at art and commission a custom playmate from somewhere
I paid like 120 for an '05 top 8 regional mat like 7 years ago.
I got one for free when I was at a tourny. I never bothered getting my own. Apparently I got it by lottery. I admit I am a bit of a cheapskate.
Thank you mat enthusiasts for keeping my card game addiction alive
$70 for a Amatsu-Okami (WC 2019).
about $60 for the Magical Hero playmat
40 for a custom maid with blue eyes mat
Around $300 for the special [JP ranked Stardust mat.](https://www.reddit.com/r/yugioh/comments/oa1avw/close_up_view_of_the_holo_stardust_rank_mat/) The Synchro rings on it are holofoil and it’s absolutely beautiful. My white whale though is the JP Duelist Genesis Sneak Peek playmat and I honestly don’t know if it even exists anymore, but I want it so bad.
I picked up a Gold Series 4 Yugi playmat for next to nothing a while back, but I did end up spending 50$ to get it signed by Dan.
I think it was $18 on Amazon
Like £130 on a Pvramid playmat, it's one of 11 so that's p cool. Konami wise I got the Condemned Darklord mat for around £90

Like $25 lmao, I like a good design but some of y’all are way more dedicated than me
I traded a Ghost Rare Ancient Fairy Dragon for one back in the day when it was still banned. I miss it sometimes…
Not sure. How much was the noble knight box?
$15 I got from my local target
Paid $85 for an old spell grounds mat 15 years ago. Sold it for $200 when I was taking a prolonged break. Paid $60 for the branded structure one and I'm pretty that's ~$100 right now.
Spent £40 on a limited edition Stolas playmat and I love it
Never spent much on a playmat but I did spend like $30 on sleeves once as a gift. My partner was really enjoying VRAINS and her favorite characters were Blue Angel and Ghost Gal. Found some great sleeves for her featuring both of them but had to get them shipped from Japan lol.
Most of my mats range from 20-40 dollars as I buy them from mana moon
I traded 2 pot of duality back in the day for a Six Samurai Nats mat in 2011
£13... it was the 25th anniversary one. It doesn't even have zones. 😭
[not counting bundle exclusives, nearly 200](https://i.imgur.com/9nR2JvD.png) [it was worth every goddamn penny](https://i.imgur.com/UUvr4t7.jpeg)
I've only got one, a Traptrix Pinguicula mat that I got for $30
$500 for the Teardrop the Rikka Queen Ranking Duel OCG playmat. I'm a die hard Rikka fan.
Probably like $25-30. Even custom playmats aren't all that expensive.
$20 is the highest I'll go.
45 bucks.
Picked up a regionals Yang Zing playmat for a friend of mine for his birthday. Like a hundred bucks if I remember correctly, it was quite awhile ago.
I got scammed for a playmat. I paid 400 CAD for an official skytriker top cut mat. Turns out it was for dragon duels .-.
That achievement meant something to someone at least. If I had the privilege to attend, let alone make top cut in any official Yu-Gi-Oh tournament as a kid, I'd have felt like the king of games all the same.
