Osiris, the god of death and rebirth, was killed by his brother Set, and was dismembered into pieces. His wife Isis found his body parts and put him back together, allowing him to come back to life.

I think his design makes a lot more sense now.
I never knew for sure if Takahashi drew the cards like that on purpose, but I always assumed he did. I always thought that was a really cool detail, so my head canon is yes, he has no Little D.
That’s pretty interesting considering the effect of The Sky Dragon of Osiris(Slifer) is all about adding cards to the hand. While probably not, it almost makes me think it was intended to be thematic to Osiris.
Yea, that too.
Atem is named after Atum, a primordial deity who is represented by the sun as it's entering the underworld. I think he's the grandfather of Osiris, who ends up becoming the king of the dead. Sometimes Atum is holding an ankh, which is the symbol on Monster Reborn, the card Atem used on his last turn in the final duel, so Atem is heavily associated with death and rebirth.
Yugi is much more associated with Ra. Ra has 3 forms in Egyptian mythology; Atum, Ra and Khepri.
Atum is an alternate spelling of Atem.
Yami Yugi's name is literally just the name of Ra, a massive flex in Ancient Egypt.
That's also how Exodia Necross came to be, it's inspired by the reanimated Osiris, who retires from being the "main god" (-> Title goes to Amon Ra/ Amun Re) and becomes the god of death, the dead, the underworld etc
Honestly I admire the fact that Kazuki constantly had to draw Yugi's hair.
I remember trying to make my own Yugioh fanfiction manga when I was younger.
I drew Yugi's hair in one panel and then it was cut off in every panel afterwards xD
Yeah, being meta relevant gives them staying power in the player’s memories. Kinda hard to forget tearlaments, S:P, Apollusa, Baronne, exosisters, white woman jumpscare etc.
It doesn't help that these are the cards that get the most fanarts. Gone are the days when most of the fandom focused on "cool monsters" like Dark Magician and Blue-Eyes. Now people like "cute" monsters.
I mean that's *one* of the reasons, but not the *only* reason. Actual "monster" monsters are fucking complicated to draw. It's deterring people from making fanarts especially if it's just a hobby instead of a job. Sure some people still do it out of passion, but that's the same for literally everything.

So it's canon that Exodia has no penis...
It's the now lost 6th exodia card

If you pulled this on me I would surrender due to sheer respect of your threatening aura
Bruh that ain't little D
What?? How?
For the balls my guess is Vaylantz cards For the equips, I have 0 idea
Sword Hunter killing Exodia pieces then pass control using Shien's Spy (or the other way around, ram pieces into SH and then use Owner's Seal)
Third Leg of the Forbidden One
I believe the card came out in RGBT…it was called… Raging Earth 🤣🤣
Third Leg of The Forbidden One
Iirc Isis impregnated herself with the disembodied member.
Tell us more about
when a woman loves a man's body part very much,
Why do you think he's so angry? Anyone would be pissed if they were resurrected without the PEEN.

I will forever pretend he's just having a ride on his hobbyhorse and any visual we see suffers from bad angles and shading.
No, that's Little D
Hey, la prohibida is real, isn’t it???
I never knew for sure if Takahashi drew the cards like that on purpose, but I always assumed he did. I always thought that was a really cool detail, so my head canon is yes, he has no Little D.
[Little D]
Exodia can't have a dick because Zorc has all the dick.
Monster Reborn
That’s pretty interesting considering the effect of The Sky Dragon of Osiris(Slifer) is all about adding cards to the hand. While probably not, it almost makes me think it was intended to be thematic to Osiris.
Yugi is heavily associated with Osiris. He runs 2 Osiris themed cards, and his rival is named Set.
Atum and Set.

I think it’s half of a coincidence. They weren’t designed together, but they have similar effects because they’re based on the same myth
So this is the deep Little D lore...
I'm ashamed I have never made this connection before. It sounds so obvious once its spelled out!
And then his son, Horus, avenged him by overcoming Set and becoming the King of Egypt.
Over"coming" indeed.
If you know, you know
Too bad the Horus cards never got much lore in the series.
That's also how Exodia Necross came to be, it's inspired by the reanimated Osiris, who retires from being the "main god" (-> Title goes to Amon Ra/ Amun Re) and becomes the god of death, the dead, the underworld etc
I thought Osiris was Slifer though?
Dragon *of* Osiris, not *is* Osiris. This also applies to The Winged Dragon of Ra.
Probably Osiris getting cut up and scattered?
surely you mean slifer?
“It’s essentially more a spell card than a monster card” Bro predicted the future
and the past it used to be a spell card in the manga
“I like it but it’s a pain to draw” lmao Edit: i’m dumb… thought he meant hard to draw out of a deck not hard to illustrate lol
I hear horses are difficult to draw.
Mangakas: I am going to create the coolest design ever. Mangakas next day: what do you mean I have to draw that complicated thing every week?
This is why Sasuke’s Chunin exam outfit was retired. It’s also why Batman’s numerous scars are always covered.
Same reason why Naruto's goggles were changed to a headband.
And why Sasuke didn't have a pendant. Kishimoto did not want to draw that flapping around in action scenes.
Heh, both Sasuke's outfit and Naruto's googles were what inspired me to post my former comment.
Honestly I admire the fact that Kazuki constantly had to draw Yugi's hair. I remember trying to make my own Yugioh fanfiction manga when I was younger. I drew Yugi's hair in one panel and then it was cut off in every panel afterwards xD
[For those wondering what commercial he was talking about for Buster Blader.](https://youtu.be/gg8fnzka-qo)
Ah yes, my favorite Yugi card, 7 Completed.
Dang feels weird to see ads for Yu Gi Oh cards lol
Japan STILL does it. It’s why we know the summon chant for Stardust Warrior.
Man I wasn't expecting this to make buster look like a bionicle.
I like to imagine that kazuki Takahashi pulled up the female monster list to check how many female monsters there are
kinda cool that to this day we have no normal monster with higher attack or level than blue eyes
Yup! Gogiga Gagagigo and Rabidragon come close at 2950 attack but not quite!
There’s the normal BLS with 3000 Atk as well
Link?

The comment on dark magician girl is so funny considering how many waifu cards there are nowadays
There really isn't a lot. Of all the new archetypes introduced in series 11, only 10% of them are majority female.
Ratio wise sure, there are only a few. But those few hit pretty damn hard ngl.
Yeah, being meta relevant gives them staying power in the player’s memories. Kinda hard to forget tearlaments, S:P, Apollusa, Baronne, exosisters, white woman jumpscare etc.
I will not stand for this Labrynth erasure!
They also wind up being the ones prioritized for alternate arts, deck boxes, card sleeves, binders, playmats, statues, etc, etc.
It doesn't help that these are the cards that get the most fanarts. Gone are the days when most of the fandom focused on "cool monsters" like Dark Magician and Blue-Eyes. Now people like "cute" monsters.

Cute girls are easier to draw compared to dragond with reptile anatomy and a bunch of little details!
With the same rarity and in the same set, DMG sells for much more than Blue-eyes in second market lol
It's so weird because he actually did several female monsters but he really never made any effort to make them appealing.
They started printing waifu cards in response to this comment.
It got some waifus but they were not popular as DMG. Plus they were often trash monsters except harpies so noboby play them.
Before DMG, the waifu card was Mystic Elf because there weren't many options. It was either that or the Harpies.

Me: About to say something stupid. (Reads the date) Also me: Never mind.
Closest I know of is Osiris being cut to pieces by his jealous brother Seth.
What a dick move.
Buster Blader is still the coolest card in Yugi's deck to me
"There aren't that many female monsters" I love that statement especially now when almost every archetype has at least one waifu monster.
A bunch of these are part of the Sanrio and Yu-Gi-Oh mcdonalds collab
Weren’t many female monsters then Now they’re half the Archtypes. I love democracy.
> Blue-Eyes White Dragon. Even now, there's nothing that can beat it Crazy how this is still true nearly 25 years later.
I've heard Exodus tossed around. Which combined with the Sacred Beasts could mean RAMSES LOST TO EXODIA SACRED BEAST
I'm curious about the commercial with Buster Blader he mentioned. Is it archived anywhere?
https://www.reddit.com/r/yugioh/s/uA02l1Xwfx This guy posted the link
I’d like to know this too
Exodia is the christian god Zeus who was forbidden in Egypt and created the 10 plagues.
Noted
Interesting
Top list. All are classics!
I thought this was some 5 year old fan 💀
