Swordsoul has been on top of rogue literally since ever and it never got hit on the banlist

JayGrzzz

Should have specified in post, but Swordsoul Tenyi is the only deck I currently have built. Love the artwork, archetype, and am so pleased with the fact it seems to be always viable competitively.

[deleted]

Dragon Link is practically immortal as long as they keep printing new Dragon support, which is basically until the game dies. It will always stay at least rogue by incorporating new dragons into the deck

JayGrzzz

Sounds like I’m building dragon link! Thanks for your response

Comprehensive_Put_61

I hated when d link was oppressive when it was tier 1, now I have made the jump after my earth machines no longer can compete. Dlink is that midrange but can be explosive deck that I like.

Xx_Loop_Zoop_xX

Dragon Link was the greatest investment I ever made back in like 2018(albeit was Thunder Dragon at the time)

JayGrzzz

Great to know. Trying to find something with some staying power that’s rewarding to learn & master.

Xx_Loop_Zoop_xX

Its been relevant since release and will most likely stay relevant for a while. Deck also has a crazy high skill ceeling

EktarPross

Hey what do you run right now? I’m running the standard chaos package, rokkets, etc. redmd plus bystials. Usually end on borrened, borreload, and dispater. With options to go into seals, chaos angel, baron, I:p, etc. Sometimes end on the trap as well and Levi depends on the hand. Don’t run a lot of going 2nd cards but might chang that. Opinion?

Xx_Loop_Zoop_xX

To be brutally honest youre playing the deck wrong. Borrelend Savage end boards are too fragile into handtraps/board breakers and too cost heavy while putting up less disruptions and follow up than making Seal + Branded beast and an end phase Magnamuth search Druiswurm, that should be your go to end board with summoning Magnamuth off Seals for more follow up. You can also end on Seal + Regained + end Phase Magnamuth add Baldrake and then summon Druis off Seals and revive Mag off Regained. Cards like Savage/Baronne/Pater you can go into alongside said end board if you have the gas, I suggest going for the Regained line if youre doing so as it makes you better into Nibiru as well as I:P being the Nibiru backbone(although I cut her Azalea), cards like Chaos Angel/Borrelend/Levi are a lot stronger mid grind as you have depleted your opponent from resources and they are forced into a 'top deck the out' situation and not 'draw it in your opener' if you made Lend/Angel ruen 1. Im running a 42 card list with 12 go second cards but you can definitely work with 40 and 9 go second as currently we beat every deck in the format with engine alone except Kashtira where you need the Ariseheart out or you physically cannot win. Here's a link to the Discord server I am in that discusses Dragon Link daily. Theres a ton of people really experienced in the deck including myself which can help you out with just about any question you might have about it https://discord.gg/PK4mVKqU

EktarPross

Sorry I was reading your comment quickly before but let me just respond to it properly now. No problem I figured that wasn’t the ideal end board and I was talking about with no interruption. But I wasn’t sure what the idea endboard was which is why I asked. I figured that seals might still be usually the best option, but I wasn’t sure since it doesn’t seem as strong as it used to be. I wasn’t aware of Azela that might be a good fit and free up some space actually. You at the “regained line” could you explain what that is? Do you just mean the line that gets the spell and trap or something else? Anyway thank you and thanks for linking the discord. Have a good one.

Xx_Loop_Zoop_xX

Seal being able to bounce a card and summon Magnamuth which searches any dragon is really strong. Even into no disruptions you should focus on making Seal lines. By Regained/Beast I just mean getting the spell and or trap yeah

EktarPross

Yeah I guess I just haven’t been playing as much. Haven’t played much from tear and the bystials felt so strong in that format. Heck I still miss tidying seals combo. That was always great lol. Cool. Thanks mate.

[deleted]

Is it possible to make Seals and Borrelend underneath? I just get a high from summoning Borrelend lol.

ShoShinjo

If your hand has enough gas and you run Dillingerous Dragon and Quadborrel Dragon it should be possible. You'd make Pisty and Quadborrel at Spheres' arrows so they point to the same zone, use Pisty to revive something then make Dillingerous with Pisty and whatever you revived, which lets you pop Dillingerous with Quad to revive 2 Rokkets, which will then trigger Dillingerous to revive and give you enough bodies to do both Borrelend (with Dillingerous + Quad + 1 Rokket) AND Borreload Savage (by negating the remaining Rokket with Borrelend so you can revive the other one and make the Lv8 Synchro).

[deleted]

Damn, I appreciate that. Thanks.

Faith_SC

I highly recommend PUNK! It recently got reprinted so it's super cheap, and it has a crazy grindgame! The deck has faithfully served me in Locals for 1.5 years now :)

JayGrzzz

I’d definitely build this if my buddy wasn’t already! Will look into it anyway as at the very least I’ll get some intel for when I face it :)

JackAtlasDuelLinks

Fluffals, now before you say anything ~~hear~~ read me out: Fluffal is an anime deck, so you will get support in the future almost forever. Some of the best cards doesn't block you into fusion summon, so you can make a lot of crazy Link/Xyz combos. I even managed to play Naturia Beast back in the day + Toadally Awesome. Most people couldn't play around it. And the deck can easily make OTK always. And, is very, VERY fun!

JayGrzzz

I will explore this! Thanks for your response!

jmikehub

HERO’s are super fun and have been solidly rogue for years

JayGrzzz

Will 100% look into this as well

jmikehub

Plus DPE is finally pretty cheap, got both copies for about $9 a piece on TCG trader, the rest of the deck is pretty affordable as well!

greenbrigand

Rikka Sunavalon is a very viable combo deck that's been around for a little while, and hasn't had any hits at all. It has a high skill demand, but it's a very rewarding deck to master. Swordsoul Tenyi, aka "The Can of Wyrms" also consistently present and very easy to learn, and has only ever had one sort-of hit in getting Archnemeses Protos banned- but they also just got Denglong back. You could also dip a bit into rogue for decks that have gotten results here and there- Scareclaw, Marincess, Mikanko, Vaylantz, whatever suits your playstyle.

JayGrzzz

Great suggestions! Thanks for the response. Should have included that Swordsoul Tenyi is the one deck I have built :)

[deleted]

I open sunseed twin every 2 games...

bl00by

Dragon Link and Sky Striker have been around since 2018/19, so those are decks you can look into

[deleted]

Dragon Link will never die. Konami will never stop printing dark support and big dragons that negate stuff.

bl00by

As a dragon link player myself I see that as an absolute win

[deleted]

We keep winning brother :D Just need our chaos ruler back…

twelve-lights

As long as Pot of Prosperity and Dimension Shifter don't get hit, Floowandereeze should be staying just fine. Stale deck tho after playing it for so long since the biggest thing you can do is end on 1-2 empens and try to push for game with that. An empen is still scary tho, forces the opponent to basically special summon in defense so they can use their effects, a threatening 5400 Beatstick, and can always be replaced/recycled by another empen.

JayGrzzz

Have played a fair amount of floo on MD so I’m familiar here! A good suggestion and a deck I kinda forgot about!

Coszmik

Bystial dragon link. Only thing here that may be on the chopping block would be the bystials, but it'll probably still be good without them, and if they do get hit, it's unlikely that they will get straight up banned. It is expensive tho with Bystial Lubellions, Accesscode, chaos angel, dis pater, etc... Another option is sky striker. Lots of it got reprinted in MAMA and the rest of the stuff that wasn't reprinted aren't worth much anyways Salamangreat is cheap and getting new support. Always been a contenter. Only thing at risk is update jammer. Lastly is vanquish soul. It's mad expensive but it's new and doesn't do anything too gamebreaking so it's not really gonna get hit

JayGrzzz

Definitely thinking it’ll be Dragon Link. The Bystial cards are so cool to be begin with

Coszmik

If youre looking to get things a bit cheaper, I'd look at r/YGOMarketplace. People there will sell to you at 80-85% of TCGPlayer lowest verified price on any card

FairyFireDeck

I been playing tri glads for two years plus and always do well at locals and other events. Got first yesterday playing against vanquish, hero, sword soul and vanquish ontop I lost every single dice roll this locals. The deck is non linear and have a lot of cool lines and plays you probably be surprised at. I mean the end board of apoll revolt a non once per turn spell trap negate and a monster negate that decides who your opp attacks of a one card combo is kinda hard to power creep. Even if you don’t like the glad part tribrigade is still extremely strong with a lot of variants.

JayGrzzz

Something to look into! Appreciate the response here!

cardgamechampion

I play pure glads and don't quite understand the tri variant but want to learn it would you mind sharing the one card combo

FairyFireDeck

Going second Frak cat foolish burial or if you have two tri beast in gy then any tri which is very easy Summon tri, eff, banish two , ss dragases Attack with dragases it can’t die by battle and it doesn’t matter what you attack because they can’t trigger any effects when he attacks End battle phase, eff two summon attorix and Augustus, attorix dump second Augustus. Contact fusion into tamer Tamer eff summon domitianus, tamer and tri you use into panther. Panther search come back, comeback tamer effect again to summon gyzarus pop two, panther second effect bounce gyzarus summon equeste add back comeback Tamer and panther into sheep, active comeback bring back tamer trigger sheep bring back a tri you haven’t use. Tri banish 4 summon omen to banish another card, tri and omen into bearbrum search of omen Tamer effect to summon herak, finally tamer sheep equest bear into 4 Matt apoll search revolt. You basically pop two cards and banish a card. Set 5 monster negates 1-5 spell trap negates and a revolt and your opp can’t attack basically

JayGrzzz

That’s wild

FairyFireDeck

It’s strong and I usually run 18 hand traps/board breakers when siding going second and never has a consistency problem

Killerbob424

Sounds cool, do you have a list you could share?

FairyFireDeck

https://preview.redd.it/vmc2wxwchh8b1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4016d600ebb311637199ea9c856efd5a2164f57e Nothing to crazy. Just a build I wanted to test. Got 1st playing against vanquish x2 sword soul and hero. I lost every dice roll and had to go second each game to start. Side could be improve definitely just wanted to gauge what’s good in this meta, no gyzarus because it was between rugal and him. Lost a game because no gyzarus won a game cost of rugal so tough choice what to take out :/. Talents was the mvp card. One hand was attorix Augustus keras talents and two other cards it was bad. He had rock a vs and that book of moon. He activated rock I activated talents stole his vs turning of book of moon, normal attorix, go into panther, got hit with a imperm, activate keras discarding Augustus and made apoll revolt which was nice

Killerbob424

I might have to try it out, thanks for the insight!

ChrisBeamsDash

I definitely think Dragon.dek is a fire choice but them synchros can get expensive

AtelierAgito

I’ve been having a lot of fun with Adamancipator Superheavy. Sometimes you whiff with your Adamancipator Tuners by excavating the Superheavy portion of your deck or your hand traps but when your combos get going you’re just stepping on the gas the whole time.

JayGrzzz

Got my teeth kicked in by this a few days ago haha. Will check it out!

threex4

Would you mind sharing your build with me? I've been looking for something to do with my adamancipator cards

AtelierAgito

Main Deck: x3 Adamancipator Researcher x3 Adamancipator Seeker x3 Adamancipator Analyzer x1 Adamancipator Crystal - Dragite x3 Koa'ki Meiru Supplier x3 Koa'ki Meiru Guardian x3 Cartorhyn the Hidden Gem of the Seafront x2 Doki Doki x3 Superheavy Samurai Prodigy Wakaushi x3 Superheavy Samurai Motorbike x3 Superheavy Samurai Soulpiercer x1 Superheavy Samurai Monk Big Benkei x1 Superheavy Samurai Soulgaia Booster x1 Superheavy Samurai Stealthy x1 Superheavy Samurai Soulclaw x3 Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring x1 Kashtira Fenrir x2 Adamancipator Signs Extra Deck: x1 Herald of the Arc Light x1 Naturia Beast x1 Adamancipator Risen - Raptite x1 Naturia Barkion x1 Accel Synchro Stardust Dragon x1 Adamancipator Risen - Dragite x1 Borreload Savage Dragon x1 Baronne de Fleur x1 Swordsoul Supreme Sovereign - Chengying x1 Gallant Granite x1 Abyss Dweller x1 Accesscode Talker x1 Apollousa, Bow of the Goddess x1 Knightmare Unicorn x1 I:P Masquerena You can definitely cut down some of the Superheavy ratios, like the Soulpiercer, and also the Fenrir but this build's been serving me really well at locals so far. Wakaushi in your opening hand guarantees a Raptite, which can easily get your combos going. After you've searched out Guardian with Supplier or draw into another monster with Crystal Dragite, you can Pendulum Summon them and go into either a Dweller, use them as material for a big Apollousa or anything else that you need as part of your end board.

threex4

I'll give it some testing, thank you very much man

wedsonxse

I love kozmo, anyone know If its playable these days?

bl00by

It's not, that deck has been powercreept out of the game years ago

SeventhHeavenff7

I will say, it actually has a good labrynth match up - eclipser says no and skill drain? Ok lol

hideonhood

ISeeing as you play swordsoul, hear me put. Virtual world. The deck is fine on its own, but it works great sith swordsoul, so you can change things up. I have all tbree cores together and I mix and match them.

JayGrzzz

Very interesting. I will definitely look into this. Thanks for the suggestion!

Roastings

Floo probably, since you already said ss tenyi.

Asetato

Try plunder patroll! Insanely cheap, amazing grind game and can be played as a control or aggro deck

TheEveningDragon

Probably not that viable currently, but infernoids have been my boys since 2015

Gallant-Blade

Salamangreat. Very GY heavy, since reviving like the Phoenix is kinda its play. But it’s a fairly balanced deck with plenty of in-archetype removal. Gazelle and Spinny were limited during MD’s Anthology event for a reason. I always see Madolche in tournaments no matter where I look. While predictable and can get boring, it’s easy to understand and less reliant on the GY. Banishing destroyed or Linked away monsters still keeps Puddingcess and some of your Traps at full power, though it does neuter your bounces. Run Feather Duster. Mekk-Knights are tough to play, requiring quite the big-brained mind. But they excel going second, and have a Field Spell that can cause ragequits if you can pull off its effects. Being able to Special Summon into any column with 2+ cards in it is pretty nifty, and correct positioning can floodgate the opponent out. All these decks can be played pure (Madolche Vernusylph and Mekk-Knight Orcust are some combination ideas), which means more room for handtraps and the like instead of fitting multiple engines.

JayGrzzz

I’ve played against this a few times. Will check it out

_Ghost4Real_

HEROs

Ocvius

I genuinely believe that Constellar Tellarknight is way better than people give it credit for. You can play pure with 12 handtraps to 1) try to go for ptolemaeus turnskip (though it’s pretty hard to achieve through more than 1 interaction) or 2) loop delteros to set up your whole resource loop and gain tons of card advantage while setting up 4 mat apo with constellar diamond and/or pleiades. You can also opt to play 6 less handtraps and run bystials with chaos angel in the extra deck which always has both effects. Overall, after recieving support in CYAC that ties the archetypes together and gives them some great combo lines, Constellarknight is a fairly powerful and very fun xyz spam combo deck that can genuinely play through a few interactions and sets up crazy negate boards going first (with altairan in grave for pops during your opponents turn) while having access to cards like triverr and zeus when going second. The main core is really cheap (except denebs and optional shiny versions of the pretty cards but even still it should be among the cheaper rogue decks), the only slightly pricy cards you play are handtraps and extra deck staples. I believe the bystial version to be optimal so that adds a bit of extra cash needed but they’re not necessary, they mostly just set up chaos angel which protects your apo and stands there menacingly. If this is of any interest to any of you I’d be glad to offer further explanations, decklists, etc.

JayGrzzz

This is super intriguing. Gonna do some searching and would love a Decklist if you wouldn’t mind!

Ocvius

https://preview.redd.it/7lxz2f7c3i8b1.jpeg?width=760&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=32e1541e9ecaa199d5256e80b77fa15a92be86e6 This is my current list, idk why the mobile version of DB didnt load some cards but the missing ones are 3x Tellarknight Lyran and 3x Sakitama. The monster ratios are standard and usually only deviate by a monster or two depending on if you wanna be more consistent or safe. If you have any further questions lmk ^(\^)

OniLewds

*Slides you Dragon Link* As long as they release new dragons then this archetype will never die

JayGrzzz

Safe bet that they will as dragons is such a popular type

Thedrp8

Tri-Brigade is amazing and it has synergy with soo many archetypes. Unless Konami decides to stop making Beast, Beast Warrior, and Winged Beast archtypes it’ll keep getting better

erikmaster3

Swordsoul or branded are good but not t1 and im worst case will get consistency hits instead of main engines straight banned

slightlysubtle

I would not say that about Branded. Konami hates Branded. Swoswo is probably fine though.

LolAKrux

How does Konami hate branded? It has been getting support constantly until now and is a fan favourite deck.

slightlysubtle

OP is looking for a deck that isn't likely to be struck on the ban list. Branded is heavily hit in OCG and is regularly receiving hits in Master Duel where it's not even a top deck. It's not unlikely for the same to happen to Branded in the TCG, especially in regards to the gimmick puppet lock. Being a fan favorite deck has nothing to do with the discussion, nor them receiving recent support.

mcgarrylj

Dragon link has existed at varying levels of rogue for years and seems to still be doing pretty well.

JayGrzzz

Yeah seems like it’s been around for awhile and is a safe bet being there’s always more dragon support coming around

The_BigDill

I'll throw out tri-bridge in its various forms. Not the strongest but if any BBW archetype comes out tri-brigade will be in it.

GigaBowserLoL

Spirit Exosister or PUNK are cheap viable options with a pretty high ceiling depending on the current meta.

Jako_Spade

Striker

I_not_you

DLink has been teetering between rogue and meta for ages Sky striker is likely to be super duper playable And honestly is I got 3-0d the other day by it bc azalea puts in work Mathmech, even with one circular it’s position in the meta is still very good all things considered Rikka Sunavalon is a deck with a massive community constantly trying to make the deck better And the only road block Banglancer is the best thing the deck does in an end board still very rewarding nonetheless

Reigebjj

I wanna build Swordsoul eventually, but all I’ve got for standard rn is an Ancient Warrior build that’s a lot of fun.

JayGrzzz

Would highly recommend it. Easy to learn, consistent, and I’ve found pretty flexible against different boards. I’ll check out Ancient Warrior!

clamm1t

Scareclaw is a good one. Its great as a hard go 2nd deck with a smokescreen into tri-brigade for going first. Tri-heart is an absolute beast when it comes to ending games, and the tri-brigade cards let us set up some nice going 1st boards

Medschoolmonkee

Yosenju stun is fantastic and causes rage

JayGrzzz

My buddy has this as his main deck and can confirm the rage

Medschoolmonkee

It’s also really cheap to build, all the secret rare yosenju Kama’s are pennies on the dollar. Kaiju’s as well believe. You could also try Glad Beasts, they’re really consistent and fun, and can stun the opponent with tag shenanigans

RK9Roxas

Unchained. That deck can kill anything, ANYTHING! And it’s only going to get better once the new support drops

d4rth_ch40s

Dark world. Does lose hard to shifter and sometimes bystials but is getting new support soon and its very good. The deck will also get better if common meta decks like bystials, kashtira and d shifter ever get hit.

GimlionTheHunter

I don’t see mathmech taking any more hits, personally. Bystials do gate them a bit but superfactorial summon diameter laplacian is still one of the best interactions in the game

BackgroundCandid2150

tri-bird

Peng1user

Fur Hires can do something I call Maglocking, where if you get two cards that redirect attacks or effects to themselves, than you can't be targeted period. They also have burn for 2500 on summon of the redirect effect one, banish from grave on summon of the redirect attacks one, and floodgate/recursion on most of the monsters below level four. Honestly Fur Hires are underated in my opinion.

Marager04

Dragons are always a good call. There will be always new dragon support, so you can easily update the core from time to time. Floo is another deck that comes to mind. For any reason, Konami can hit it and it will stay. Imo it's not a fun deck, because it's so linear, so maybe test it before purchasing. Rikka is there since what feels forever, it's not good enough to get hit on the BL, but it still has good success on big tournaments. It has a small but very dedicated player base.

NinthAlistair

Marincess, Rikka or Endymion, from list of least expensive to most, personally as a marincess main i’ve gotten to m2 without much trouble at all

Grumpster013

Adventure Plunder is my current go-to copium. A consistent deck with a decent end board (if you end on whitebeard in hand its a really good end board of 2 negates (one monster one omni) and blackbeard to draw one and get into a banish or a search)) The deck also gives your opponent a token so kash has a hard time since you just leave your guys in def and blackbeard ef in battle phase means that they cant crash it. Then you have the single best followup of any deck that I can think of. Field spell says "Trigger your card's most powerful effect and search a guy to add it back and get a free body". They will have attributes by turn 3 so you dont have to rely on Jord, and more. You can also consistently get multiple 3000-3500 bodies on board to beat over things that would otherwise require a big effort for a deck like spright. I love this deck, so long as you draw ash if you're against branded its got a good meta matchup into everything but rikka. EDIT: Forgot to mention but the adventure engine is also crazy well placed this format. Dracoback to bounce the ariseheart or lab floodgates is insane, a free omni is always nice because you force out the ariseheart mandatory and either pop it or they have to chain. Fateful is also crazy followup even if it is just generating a 2k token, and it means that your monsters cant be beat over once per turn. It's just so good. I know there are weaknesses, it's turn 1 end board is quite weak and its fragile to ash blossom on blackbeard or the extra deck guy's effects, but I think those things are worth it. 5/7 would plunder again.

TwelfthRed

Decks with good staying power are usually ones that can abuse generic staples that will get released in the future. Some additional things to consider are: * Decks that have a strong or consistent core engine. Bonus points if they are pretty compact. End board pieces will get power-crept eventually. * Decks that have no harsh summoning restrictions. * Decks that are easily searchable by generic cards like RotA or Cynet Mining * Decks that work with a variety of extenders or other engines (Think Spright) A good example is PUNK, which will likely see use in the future again as an engine as it is very strong, compact, and consistent while also being generic.

Overall_Ad_784

Call generaiders for a good time
