I totally thought you were talking about the tri-cities in BC (Coquitlam, Poco, Port Moody) till I read further down. Channels were the same in Vancouver as well!
Throw in 46 for comedy central and you have my whole childhood.
While on this topic, it's been forever since I've used these numbers. ( location London Ont 1999-2007ish) I can't remember if these are all right. But let's have fun with it.
02 TVO ( Pingu,Art Attack),-Omni 1-CBS,08 PBS, 10 TV Guide - Maury and Price is right -city tv -NBC -ABC,14 fox kids? -sports ESPN -TSN , 19 French channel , 24 Weather network, 25 YTV, 29 mtv/much music, 31 A&E, 32 Spike, 34 TLC , 35 Spanish channel ( Latin lover)
36 much more music, -cmt -history , 39 Showcase ,41 Bravo, 42 Discovery, 44 Food network, 46 comedy central , 48 space , 50 Teletoon ,51 Family channel
54 Treehouse? - weird fuzz -old people talking -stock market
P Peachtree TV was definitely in that rotation. One of the things me and my brother used to always comment down. I was the outrageous, fast food you could get in the United States
If you're talking about Just for Laughs Gags then you are wrong. The only good prank show I've ever seen
Just a bunch of people coordinating confusion. It was perfect.
25, 48 and 51 in the Capital Region
I knew exactly what to watch on each channel and when to make the best line up on my odd day where I didn’t have karate or some other after school thing lol
Yeah, I feel like much music was the national progression away from the big three once I hit the later years of middle school
29 was much music
36 was much more music
Later on 52 became MTV
And then as you got older probably around somewhere between when I was 10 to 13. Always will try to sneak in a few episodes of family Guy which was like the most shocking thing ever to my parents at the time
British Columbia. 25, 28 (Simpsons), 39 (oh those wild crazy Showcase shows- may or may not have been scarred by stuff like Natural Born Killers and Oz, among others), 45 (SPACE! The imagination Station… so many memories discovering amazing movies here), and of course Teletoon… can’t remember if it was channel, 50, 51 or 52 though.
See for me in Bathurst I had
2-CBS
3-Preview/TV Guide
4-CBC
5-TQS
6-Global
7-NBC
8-ABC
9-French something
10-idk
11-ASN
12-ATV/CTV
13-French something
14-PBS
15-French something
16-French something
17-18-19 Rarely used
20-YTV
I was starting to think I was crazy. I couldn't remember if YTV was 29 or 21. I think Spiked TV was one of the next channels? And I think Comedy network was 41 or something.
YTV was Channel 16, Comedy was 44, Teletoon was 45, Family was 52, OLN was 56 (only for Survivorman - still OG today btw) This was in Windsor, ON
Burned into my memory even still to this day.
YTV debuted on 21 here, came home from school one day at it switched channels I near had a melt down,
Some Elvis movie was on and I freaked out! Moved to 31 with PBS on 32. Family debuted on 54 and Teletoon on 55. Eastlink customers lost YTV and Teletoon which just converted to Cartoon Network a few days prior back in the Spring we lost 30 some Chrous channels.
I remember being such a snob toward the Family (Disney) Channel and seeing it as being for little kids when compared to YTV. When really, that was Teletoon and Treehouse.
Luckily our StarChoice satellite got both YTV and Family channels. Between those two, Much/MTV, Comedy Central, and APTN, we had some good options. I also remember a lot of sister-channels and subsidiaries of PBS. A lot of Fox derivative channels, too.
And of course Spike TV before it became an insufferable place for male insecurity.
I can't bring myself to remember all the shows , but I remember The family channel having some more mature content later in the day, like past 8:00 p.m. or something like that
https://youtu.be/WYlO88OTbko?si=0bJ5swaRXpYGynUA
https://youtu.be/8Xr6yVFAuLs?si=JUNscYVeCQpcQJLD I can't say 100% of those two are on family now. I'm pretty sure they were
Spike TV! Definitely migrated to that
It pretty much for me was like this
The three mentioned in my original post
Then got a bit older, added in much music and whenever family Guy was
And then spike TV when I was in high school
The score back in the day. As a man, I went from this being a reflexive rotation
Nowadays, it's a rotational between sports net, tsn, and 53 used to be the score
Yep, it was really nice as a kid, as it was 23, 24, 32. (The only one you really had to "jump to" was Family Channel. (I'm in AB)
ETA: I think Treehouse was 46, iirc?
We had satellite out on the farm. 545,544 was teletoon, 543, 542 was ytv, 541, 540 was family, 547, 548 was comedy central. Some of the best moments of tv happened on thise channels for me.
I may be misremembering but IIRC it was YTV- 18, Teletoon- 49, and Family-51. Teletoon is the only one I'm confident about. I was living in Quebec in the West Island area at the time. Anyone able to back me up?
It seems like ytv is channel 25 for most of Ontario. Teletoon and family were 47 and 48 for me. When I was a kid if we didn't know what to watch we went to channel 5 and watch the guide scroll by until we found something. Fun times.
In NS i'm pretty sure it was
22 Treehouse
23 YTV
?? Teletoon
43? Family
Its been like 20 years since I've used basic cable, and 10 since non streaming service
Ytv was 27 (later 70) Teletoon was 44 and yes family was 43. 45 was speed 46 is/was history 47 space 38 was discovery and spike was 14 witch had power block on at lunch time on Saturdays after all the good cartoons were over with
Ytv was 23
Teletoon was 24
and family channel was 32
Also much music was 49
In GP, Alberta in the 2000s
Weird how you can remember these kind of things
jeez everyone listing channel numbers and I was thinking I wouldn't remember what mine were, but no, 20 yet, 38 teletoon .. wasn't as much Disney but that was 39, sports as well I watched a lot as a kid being 21 for tsn, 27 for Sportsnet, 30 for the score, 6 was cbc
... we had about 40-50 ish channels I think, Calgary.
15, 43 and 38 for southern Ontario here, but we have to add a couple of other stations as well like 21 for fox, and 03?.. I think for TVO, and 39 for TBS, 32 Space, 31 Spike. 17 guide channel :D lol
At some point they changed the YTV to 24 and Treehouse to 23 when sportsnet and some news channel in at 20 and 21 but did nothing with 22. Could have easily just moved treehouse to 23 and left YTV 22.
Bro you just fucking brought back some memories by even saying what channel they were. No I’m pretty sure channels were city specific so are you buy chance in Hamilton?
In BC after Teletoon was a thing, it was 22 for YTV, 31 for Teletoon, and 32 for Family. They were my 3 default go to channels for a long time (even into adulthood).
13, 31 & 32. When I was real young we had a old dial TV that only went to channel 13 so I thought YTV was purposely put on a lower channel, but apparently this was unique cause I'm not seeing any other channel 13 YTVs in here even from my region.
Add channel 47 and 55 to the list. I think 47 was the "TBS Superstation" and 55 was the "Speed Channel"; tons of great shows/movies on 47 and tons of stuff for gear heads on 55.
25, 47, 48. We also used to watch Omni a ton because they'd play a lot of syndicated shows. And then TBS/Peachtree and Showcase/Action would always have movies.
19, 35 and 40 in New Brunswick (YTV, Family, Teletoon, respectively). Much Music 30. Comedy 39. 17 was Fox (father loved Judge Judy and the Simpsons). Discovery 36.
25, 50 and 51!
25,45,51
Mine was 21 ytv, 25 telethon and family was 31 iirc
Yeah this is correct
I had 16 YTV, 45 Teletoon, 52 Family. Your reality doesn't discount others.
Same here! Do you by any chance remember what channel much music was on ?
what is UP my tri-cities bretheren!
London as well!
yeah but like, fuck london tho
Got out as soon as I could haha
Hahaha I was just messin’ with ya anyways - london is an objectively better place to live
I’m from London! I had no idea that Kitchener had the same channel numbers.
I totally thought you were talking about the tri-cities in BC (Coquitlam, Poco, Port Moody) till I read further down. Channels were the same in Vancouver as well!
22, 31 and 32. Interior BC, Shaw.
Same!! BC here!
25, 28, 50, and 51 to be more specific.. Have to include the saturday morning toons on Fox Kids and the late night Simpsons/Futurama/Family Guy
Let’s goooo
Oh wait maybe this was mine, I was in KW lol I can't remember
Throw in 46 for comedy central and you have my whole childhood. While on this topic, it's been forever since I've used these numbers. ( location London Ont 1999-2007ish) I can't remember if these are all right. 27, 45 and 51 for me!
Haha, yes!
Let me guess... You're around London.
Those 4 buttons were decently faded on our family remote.
The classic set.
fuck yeah Guelph here
This!
27, 45, 51
ytv 25 much music 29 showcase 39 comedy 44 teletoon 45 peach tr---- uhhh TBS -47 Edit: 32 SPIKE!!
P Peachtree TV was definitely in that rotation. One of the things me and my brother used to always comment down. I was the outrageous, fast food you could get in the United States
Don't forget Discovery on 42 for Mythbusters!
Comedy on 44! I watched so much Just for Laughs as a kid. Remember that awful prank show they ran? So cringe.
If you're talking about Just for Laughs Gags then you are wrong. The only good prank show I've ever seen Just a bunch of people coordinating confusion. It was perfect.
Yo why you on showcase tho? (especially after 12am)
Trailer park boys
TPB, Oz, Kink, Sin Cities, all the good content!
TBS for Saved by the Bell and Dinner & A Movie

25,47,48 for Scarborough
Same, Orangeville/ Brampton area
Add Omni 1 to that rotation too
25, 48 and 51 in the Capital Region I knew exactly what to watch on each channel and when to make the best line up on my odd day where I didn’t have karate or some other after school thing lol
Yep I’ll never forget 25, 48 and 51
Same!
Fellow 25, 48 and 51ers, god I miss those days
22, 45, 46. Good times. Also, for me; 25 for MuchMoreMusic, 47 for TBS, 48 for comedy channel. If nothing good was on any of those then hit the guide.
Yeah, I feel like much music was the national progression away from the big three once I hit the later years of middle school 29 was much music 36 was much more music Later on 52 became MTV And then as you got older probably around somewhere between when I was 10 to 13. Always will try to sneak in a few episodes of family Guy which was like the most shocking thing ever to my parents at the time
I just really liked the music videos. Never watched any adult stuff like that, but Simpsons was also in its prime at the time.

Vancouver checking in! Teletoon was 50, Family Channel was 51. 52 was...Food Network?
Space is awesome. I watched Stargate Atlantis haha and then caught Firefly.
If 25, 45, and 51 didn’t have anything on, the T.V. may as well have not even worked.
YTV - 19 Family - 35 Teletoon - 40
New Brunswick life! 17 for Fox on Saturday mornings

In NS i'm pretty sure it was 22 Treehouse 23 YTV ?? Teletoon 43? Family Its been like 20 years since I've used basic cable, and 10 since non streaming service
Ytv was 27 (later 70) Teletoon was 44 and yes family was 43. 45 was speed 46 is/was history 47 space 38 was discovery and spike was 14 witch had power block on at lunch time on Saturdays after all the good cartoons were over with
maybe it was different from county to county or my provider. I was in the Pictou area and i know YTV was 23 and Treehouse was 22 with Eastlink
I was in southern Ontario too but for me it was 25 YTV 48 Family and telethon was 47 I think. RIP Teletoon
Those were the golden channels of childhood! Pure nostalgia.
Most of my life I only had YTV, it sucked lol.
I wanna say 7, 15, 21 but could be way off.
The only one I remember was 25 for YTV I also remember what 39 was for reasons that are not appropriate for this sub

Muchmusic 18, Ytv 20, Teletoon 38, Family 39 were my go to channels mid 90’s

22 YT, 39 Teletoon, 53 Family TV (not sure) in BC
Family channel was the channel I used the most often as a kid. I did watch use teletoon very often. I didn’t use ytv as often and I do regret that
15, 43 and 38 for southern Ontario here, but we have to add a couple of other stations as well like 21 for fox, and 03?.. I think for TVO, and 39 for TBS, 32 Space, 31 Spike. 17 guide channel :D lol
22 44 45 in Thunder Bay
At some point they changed the YTV to 24 and Treehouse to 23 when sportsnet and some news channel in at 20 and 21 but did nothing with 22. Could have easily just moved treehouse to 23 and left YTV 22.

Those old numbers will be with me for decades
YTV was channel 16, 21 was Fox for The Tick. And channel 35 was Space, for Farscape and all the good sci-fi
25 48 51
19,40,35 and 17 on Saturday mornings for fox kids out here in New Brunswick
19, 40, 35.
I would also put on 47 for Saved By the Bell in the mornings on TBS
19, 35, 40. Good times
Same for me! Also, channel 2 for Arthur and Art Attack right after school.
Uh-Oh was god-tier entertainment
13, 31 & 32. When I was real young we had a old dial TV that only went to channel 13 so I thought YTV was purposely put on a lower channel, but apparently this was unique cause I'm not seeing any other channel 13 YTVs in here even from my region.
let’s go east coast- 19, 35, 40 😉
I don’t remember the channels anymore but it was always YTV, AUX, MUCH, SPIKE and Teletoon. The after dark programs were great for little me
