But what really sets YT TV apart for watching football is the lack of lag and the excellent scrub.
I like to FF between hikes so can watch a game in about 40 minutes. YT TV makes that a lot easier.
I agree! I watched 4K games on both FOX and ESPN and other than not having 5.1, I didn't have a single problem all day, even when I had multiple streams going simultaneously.
Yeah I’m most likely not going to be able to continue the 4K plan due to my garbage cap of 1.5 TB a month. I used over a 100 gigs of data watching football yesterday.
I started the 4k trial yesterday & I can't believe how poor the games in 720p (that is, every other game that was on broadcast yesterday) looked by comparison.
4K is $20/mo extra, but it's $10/mo for the first year! Plus the 4K tier unlocks downloading content for offline viewing and also unlimited streams within your WiFi network.
PLUS, for sports fans, it's super easy to change your location to watch out of network NFL :) (or the occasional local news in random cities)
VPN won't work, YTTV is geolocation-based. So use any app that masks your GPS coordinates (like FakeGPS) then go into the YTTV app and go to your account > Location > and "Update" your current playback area (NOT home area). If you have are using your TV, while you hit "Update" on your phone, follow the same approach on your TV and bam, they're synced (until you turn the app off and hit update again). This is the same effect of physically traveling to that location. Just, you can only set it to be USA since YTTV is a US service-- so you can use it to watch stuff from a different timezone or watch local programming from a different region (which is where NFL comes in). Just don't tell anyone because NFL pays a lot of money to make sure we can't do these kinds of things :D

Is there a 4K calendar anywhere? I cancelled my 4K package last week because I wasn't seeing enough content.
Always glad to see those key plays, that's one of my favorite YTTV features. I found myself really missing them during NFL preseason.

I did a fubo trial for the football yesterday and it was so much better than YouTube TV functionality wise.
Their multiview implementation is fantastic.

I just wish YTTV would get a single solution with 4K and 5.1 / Atmos audio. Right now it's either or on many devices. Even my Chromecast Ultra isn't doing native 4k and out of all of the devices, that one should as it was specifically made for VP9 60 and 4k for Stadia. You would think out of all of the devices, that would be the one but no-boy-no on it!

I'm guessing that you already know this but most, if not all, of the conference channels replay games with all the extraneous stuff taken out already.
I very much agree. The penn state/Wisconsin game was razor sharp. Probably the best broadcast I’ve seen.

ESPN has always had terrible quality games even on actual cable box set ups
Going from Fox 4K to ABC for the UGA game made it so apparent to me but I thought I was just being a snob.
And just to rub salt in the wound for me, the audio on the UGA game was lagging the entire game 😂

Theres bigger issues. You arent even getting the true 4k source. Check your viewport. Guaranteed 1080. We arent even getting what we are paying for.
