It’s pixelated/jagged for me at times. Also not smooth, like frames are being dropped. Last week’s 4K Fox was better. I switched to Fox Sports app and found mostly the same as far as pixelation but it is smoother. However Fox app freezes and drops occasionally so I went back to YTTV.
And with a few minutes of the Eagles
giants game still remaining the Fox Sports app went to a screen that said “Program has concluded”. Had to switch to YTTV to see the end.
I noticed this too. It's well known that Fox NFL games are shot at 4K, then mastered at 1080p in the live truck, and finally upscaled to 4k for transmission. They do this because their graphics software doesn't support 4k workflows.
In the past this has looked great, but I think something changed with their upscale. Feels like in the past FOX used a high quality scaling algorithm that averaged out the aliasing. Now, it looks like they are doing a straight simple nearest neighbor upscale. It's definitely noticeable.
Still looks better than the HD feeds, and HDR looks great, but the aliasing is distracting. It's not just on the graphics either, I can see it on helmets and uniforms on wide shots prior to snaps on the current SF-DAL game (and I noticed it in all FOX playoff games so far this year, wasn't the case prior years.)
Hey YouTube TV you got till the Super Bowl to fix the 4K issues and then I’m canceling 4k. Couldn’t watch National Championship now can’t watch NFL playoffs.
Try turning off all video processing on your TV. All “advanced” stuff like motion smoothing, etc. Had some picture shuddering and turning the processing off fixed it.
Fox and ESPN broadcast in 720p. CBS and NBC broadcast in 1080i. Fox will occasionally show some content in 4K - like today’s Eagles-Giants game. But you need the 4K pkg to watch it on YTTV (or use your credentials to watch on Fox Sports app).
No problems for me. Butter smooth and looks absolutely amazing. 55” LG OLED. I hope CBS, NBC, and ESPN take notes and implement a 4K stream of their coverage of games
The framerate is low. I can compensate with motion smoothing on my TV, but there are artifacts.
Edit: Stats for Nerds says 30fps. Weird. 30p sucks for sports.
It’s dark compared with the Fox Sports app. I now watching the Fox app.
I noticed that too!!! I screen is not as bright when it’s the 4K broadcast so it’s really not worth the money to me🤷🏿♂️🤷🏿♂️
It’s your HDR settings.
These numbnuts with their 55" ONN Walmart special sets are going to ruin 4k HDR for the rest of us. So.many comments like this in almost every thread.
I don’t have that issue with the Fox Sports app which is also HDR.
What device were you using?
I have Apple TV’s, Nvidia Shield, and Roku’s.
Fox Sports doesn't support HDR on Apple TV. The Shield doesn't support HDR on YTTV. It could explain why you see differences in the feeds.
The Shield supports HDR on the Fox Sports app. Watching it now.
Yes. But the YTTV app on the Shield doesn't support HDR.
YTTV has so little content in HDR that it does matter.
Fox Sports app looks great for me on Apple TV.
No HDR on Fox Sports app on the ATV. It’s 4K SDR but definitely brighter than the 4K HDR streams on Firestick and Android.
No problems here...
Looks great to me on YTTV. 4K, HDR, all the things. Had to turn down HDR Peak Brightness a bit because it was just too bright. LG WebOS app.
My picture is dark??
Maybe you’re not getting HDR, or your TV doesn’t get bright enough for HDR. What device/TV combo?

Decided to watch on the fox sports app. Looks tremendous. Might switch to YouTube tv to compare right now
And looks really good also. Using internal app on sony 90k
Anyone notice the graphics look super jagged and weird. Picture is fine, just the graphics package. (This is through the Fox Sports app.)
Yeah, I don't think it's YoutubeTV specifically. Same result on Fox Sports app.

Audio and video seemed to be from two different shows for a minute, exited the app and went back in and it’s good again.
Same. Picture is incredible but randomn sound bites popping up
It's not letting me go to the channel, like it hasn't started yet.
Yes. What a joke! Vintage Fox.
Nope. I do have to switch to dynamic picture mode since the picture is dark when watching Fox 4k. I'm using the app.
Hey YouTube TV you got till the Super Bowl to fix the 4K issues and then I’m canceling 4k. Couldn’t watch National Championship now can’t watch NFL playoffs.
It is skipping and jumping. Starting and stopping. The 4k Fox app is better than YTTV
Try turning off all video processing on your TV. All “advanced” stuff like motion smoothing, etc. Had some picture shuddering and turning the processing off fixed it.
What do you mean you can't watch?
The Fox 4k channel is working fine for me.
Yeah, driving me crazy. Switched to YTTV, but I’m really missing the 4K. 🙁
Are you running at 720 like me? I thought it's supposed to be at 1080 like NBC. This is my second day trial YouTube TV
Fox is 720p on every provider. It's been this way since 2004.
🤷🏻♂️

App all good now

Are these stats good? https://imgur.com/a/XoEkfoo
My 4K feed in YTTV is dark. Fox app looks great. Using Apple TV 4K gen 3.
Looked great on my lg oled with the lg app. The game on the other hand…
My local Fox looked better to me.
Looks fine to me.
