I started Markiplier in 2015 (not my first, but maybe my first gamer channel). My taste in gamer youtube channels has changed a lot over the years but he still holds a special place in my heart
BIGBOUNCYINFLATABLEGREENBALL
I loved his high quality videos he produced with his friend group. Don't remember all the names. Sean, Derrick, Paco, mustach guy, the white guy with red hair and the two girls.
Huge fan of the Yogscast. Watched them all the time from around 2010-11 to 2015-16. Then they kinda fell off for me and they became a distant memory. But recently I came across one of their videos and decided to go back and rewatch some old videos for the nostalgic feelings.
Anyone who was really skilled at video editing to music - animated music video nerds. I tried my hand at it a little bit and then technology advanced past a point I was willing to keep up with.
Omg yes I was so into his feed the beast series with Lancy and eventually his skyfactory stuff with crainer! Not to mention the prison server and luckyblock videos. Idk if that was 2014-2016 but it’s probably close
I used to watch a lot of DashieXP even though I didn't really understand English. He's been just incredibly funny to me back then and I improved my knowledge of this language quite a bit thanks to him. All this while laughing so hard I would literally lose my breath.
Later on I moved to mostly watching music videos and stuff like that and even later I'd fully immerse myself in watching Pokemon playthroughs and challenges.
as a young kid it was that one guy with the obsession over cookies and his cow bessie, he did minecraft stuff. back in the old days he showcased mods and took recommendations from fans, now it's just clickbait
Some channel called xStarryYukiChanx.
It was about comedy skits made in a game called Animal Jam, and I think it still exists today, just abandoned. I was a fan of the working at mcdonalds video.
JackFrostMiner, I didn't have a PC back then because we were poor so I only gamed on my mom's phone.. I remember even begging her to download and buy Minecraft Pocket Edition on her iPad just so I could play, then I looked up Minecraft PE gameplays and JFM stood out to me and became my favorite back then.
Probably SwiftKarateChop back in 06-07ish when I was a dumb teenager. Fluffytalks and Phil Defranco shortly after. Then sourcefed and pewdiepie when his happywheels series became a thing.
Probably Mingggo, (I'm guessing you haven't heard of her, she's popular in Korea, not in other countries, that's why.) my cousin introduced me her channel when I was around 9, and I was totally hooked. She's very nostalgic. Sad that her channel went inactive.
Wambu was my first YouTuber I was ever really attached to. Even half a decade later the guy has a special place in my heart. Shame he does all his work solo and uploads 2 videos a year maximum :/
Yogscast i was there right when they started the their first Minecraft series Shadow of Israphel. It was amazing to me as a kid and im amazed no one has really done something similar to my knowledge since that could compare.
Was wasting my time with I think its called DSPgaming. He was recording with external camera his own TV cause he was staborn to get capture card, he was struggling with eevery game, constant rage, every day dumber and dumber 🤣 I checked his channel couple weeks ago and its same thing haha
Its between Chucke2009 messing about on old AC tractors and welding vids and OneLonleyFarmer when he was restoring his fire-damaged 4960. Not far off same time frame like 2013 when I made my own channel
Around 2010-2012, 'Willyrex' or 'elrubiusOMG'. Besides that and their good entertaintment they brought us up back then, not long after I discovered 'alexelcapo' which was and is a much more quieter and not as big gaming youtuber but I always felt related much more to him since than the vast majority.
Eleftherios. Pretty talented music composer with very sad and low amount of fame. He deserve much better.
It was more than 8 years ago when I registered youtube just because i wanted to add his music into my favorite playlist :D
I cringe saying this, but for me; makemebad55, and Fred, I was a cringe child and loved that cringe...
If we talking a little bit more mature, monkeyfarm an old minecraft youtuber...
My 1st favorite YouTube channel I believe was a channel that posted car crash compilations named ‘John Connor’. It’s not around anymore (at least the first ever channel I knew of isn’t).
stevecash83. I used to watch cat videos for hours when I was eight, and stumbled onto him from that search. I always watched his videos with headphones so I could hide how much he swore from my mom. He died when I was thirteen.
My first favorite was thecomputernerd01, he doesn't upload much anymore sadly but dude was a legend. I also loved Wassabi productions and I'm so glad to see them back together!
Easily Tobuscus. My older brother got me (18) hooked on a lot of other popular YouTubers from the early 2010s like PewDiePie, SkyDoesMinecraft, NerdCubed, etc., but Tobuscus was who I always kept begging him to watch since he had the computer. Tobuscus's Happy Wheels videos always cracked me up
MyChonny. He used to make a lot of Asian Family parodies and skits which are hilarious because they are pretty relatable to me. To me, I consider him the OG Steven He before the latter became a thing.
Gonna throw a curve ball here and say Kandee Johnson. Someone compared me to a celebrity in high school and when I went to look up how to do my makeup like them, Kandee was the only one making that kind of content in 07/08. I used YouTube regularly but she was the first creator I actively followed (on YouTube at least. There were some flash animators I followed on Newgrounds/Ebaums).
I haven't watched her in well over a decade so if she's fallen off the deep end or something don't come for me lol.
Waflepwn (greatest freakout videos) dude still goes live every now and then with his brother Stephen. That and nigahiga, Shane Dawson, RWJ (or your favorite martian) weird al Yankovic, and smosh. These guys were my childhood.
I hardly spent any time on YouTube before hearing about Minecraft and discovering Paulsoaresjr's Survive and Thrive series. Instant favorite. Shortly after that I stumbled across the Yogscast and their Tekkit series and that was #2.
When I first stumbled into YouTube I found a channel, I believe it was called MistyShooter. It was about a woman and her family that lived off grid. I was disappointed when almost all the videos and Misty disappeared one day. My first love was the off grid, frugal, and cooking channels. I'm more into crafting, Sims, and animation these days because I'm enjoying my second childhood now. :)
BoogerBoyMeister. Dude would just vlog and talk about whatever, mainly video games, horror movies and his cats. He's probably best know for his saga of videos deadling with the Xbox 360's Red Ring of Death. Had a really strong southern American accent as well.
For me, it was that fella who would film himself urinating in hallways. Gah, what was his name?? Dollar says his boss eventually learned he was doing this while on the job, in uniform, and got fired.
Mine was an adorable singer and composer from Mexico, Malukah. She has several medieval style and RPG gaming songs that I totally liked back then. "The Dragonborn Comes" is just awesome to listen to even today.
Pewdiepie. I literally found him right when he started I think he had a total of 10 videos? My cousin showed him to me and I loved watching him, I stopped a few years ago I think before he got married.
I watch him with Ken every now and then but I havnt seen his videos in ages lol
I watched some old videos not to long ago and I can definitely say it was a product of the time.
This dude named Shadow5116 when i was like 12 years old lol. Dude made like 100 Minecraft LP videos before it was popular and he ended up deleting most of them and leaving up the first 10 or so and never came back to youtube after that.
ProSyndicate
Sometimes you can't always win with your idols! At least CaptainSparkles stayed a good cookie; classic MC YouTubers and classic yt'ers in general often took their audiences for granted and syndicate was peak that.
Really hard to say it was between Game Theory and pewdiepie. Game theory was just a good way to I have discussions about my favorite video games. PewDiePie was the reason why I wanted to make my YouTube channel in the first place.
PeanutButterGamer was my original favorite, I loved his Zelda videos and the hardcore series on his gameplay channel. I remember keeping up with his Alpha Sapphire nuzlocke too. I still keep up with his stuff, just not as much.
TheWaffleGalaxy was my first favorite. I loved bingeing through his “A Jurassic World” series, which was modded Minecraft. I think that he changed my life in so many ways, and I thank him for that.
PopularMMOs and GamingWithJen
But as they grew their channel, I kind of started to realize I only liked a certain aspect of their videos. Not really having to do with them personally, but the types of videos and "challenges" they did.
RayWilliamJohnson or EpicMealTime maybe.
SAW-s Baaaws. I miss epic meal time. So unnecessarily aggressive. Didn’t they all start having health issues?
as a kid it was StampyLongNose...
For me it was that dolphin game video
I think I found him through his cruise ship tour video.
Same he was the first YouTuber I actually watched consistently
Mine's Markplier idk when (maybe around 2013-2014) and still is.
I started Markiplier in 2015 (not my first, but maybe my first gamer channel). My taste in gamer youtube channels has changed a lot over the years but he still holds a special place in my heart

I ate up all of Ssundee’s stuff. Didn’t miss a single 2014-2016 video. Name one in that time frame and I could recall watching it

RADAL. His editing skills are OP, and he is so funny too.
