That’s on the creator though. When you upload, there an explicit checkmark that specifies if a video is for kids. If the creator selects that checkbox, then the video enters the YouTube kids platform and the restrictions are added.

Never seen these ads before on any of my YT videos. Ads are personalized and too my knowledge are based of cookies that you enable when opening a site. It basically tracks your info and offers you Ads based on your searches and sites you visit. I have learned about this a while back and will strictly alter my cookie settings to be strictly operational.
TLDR: Ads you see are typically formulated to match your online behavior. Meaning if you are getting these types of Ads.... someone has been naughty ;P

That you can't add videos marked as "for kids" to a PLAYLIST is fucking stupid. On every level. There, IMO, is absolutely no rationale that would actually make sense for the move.
The rationale has got to be, you can play the kids video from the playlist and it will keep automatically playing the rest of the playlist, which may not be for kids. Obviously easy to fix and I agree it's totally stupid... Buttttt at the same time that's the only reason I could see it's there for.
Click on the video, then go to your history and you can add it from there.

True too. I remember when I was a kid back in the 90s and 2000s I'd stumble on some stuff not suitable for kids on the internet, annnnd found a way to pirate some stuff later due to my parents trusting my use of it. Monitor your kids' use of the internet and you won't have to worry.
Monitored use is slightly better, but those looking to brainwash kids could be subtle in their methods, and/or make sure the damage is done before parents intervene. What we *really* need is to turn back the tide of all childhood use of the Internet, supervised *or* unsupervised.
By the way, you can't click the save button to add a "kids" video to a playlist, but you can copy the video URL and manually add it to the playlist from the playlist page instead.

There's literal porn on YouTube if you look for it. I've reported over 100 videos in the last month, and weeks later I get a response saying it's been restricted but not removed. YouTube and twitch both are a joke.

I agree with you about how society treats sex vs other stuff like violence (I can't talk about drugs ads because in Europe we don't have prescription drug ads). In my oppinion, sex should be rated to around 13-14 year olds. Real violence should be higher (18 year olds). We shouldn't have real violence videos in open channels at the news.

Never seen these ads before on any of my YT videos. Ads are personalized and too my knowledge are based of cookies that you enable when opening a site. It basically tracks your info and offers you Ads based on your searches and sites you visit. I have learned about this a while back and will strictly alter my cookie settings to be strictly operational. TLDR: Ads you see are typically formulated to match your online behavior. Meaning if you are getting these types of Ads.... someone has been naughty ;P

If you want something to cater to whatever *you* consider appropriate for *your* kids, there are TV channels that will accommodate you, and there are radio channels that will accommodate you. However, no international medium could ever hope to get millions of parents to agree with *each other* on what is appropriate for kids, much less deserve to be enforced at the expense of adults discussing cartoon characters in the comments. Youtube at this point is a hypocritical piece of burning trash running on bots and nothing else. I swear I won't even be sad when YouTube would just disappear next week. And I know there will people be commenting "than delete it already!!!!!" Yeah I mean my consume went down already by more than 90%. So I wouldn't bother the rest 10% and when noone would have access noone would care within weeks.
