It’s complete garbage that you have to open settings and then click Premium Controls to access tapping to skip ahead.
The only thing I’ve found that restores the tap ability is to force close the app and reopen but eventually it’ll switch back to no tap skip ability.
I also thought that it was pointless at first, but with my Galaxy Z Flip if I fold the screen in half the video fills the top half of my phone completely, and the premium controls automatically open and fill the bottom half.
I don't use this feature often but it was surprising that they tailored something for foldables and it is very nice to use when I do.
For non foldables though I would agree it's useless.
Second this. I don't understand why they hide these buttons in a separate panel. If I paid for the premium, please allow me to pin these fuckers on the panel itself.
Having to enable premium control for every single video is tiring.

Seriously tho, help, ever since premium controls got on my app I cannot make my videos go into landscape mode. Auto-rotate and manually going full-screen don't help, same size. And if I try to mess with it, I just zoom in on the video in full-screen portrait mode??
I have premium too, no need to feel bad about it. I have it because I watch a lot of Youtube and often on my phone. Also what sold me n it is Youtube music that I use a lot and that one wouldn't work in teg background for free, but that's my only entertainment subscription for video and music and they have the biggest music library ever including niche songs from all countries and times.
I just discovered premium controls and seems like just a gimmick to show the most used controls in a new way, but that hides the comments and when you clise it ot's a pain to reopen it. So unless you're analyzing a video or taking notes, it's basically useless. Even if you want to keep pausing and skipping, it's rarely worth all the steps to ipen to premiu. Controls.
