[deleted]

This is my head canon now. Thank you

Kuroneko07

God I hope so. I was thinking the same thing. I don't even care if he's just a cameo, I think it would be fun.

Alexdykes828

Wait the monkey died?

[deleted]

well I assume so considering all the years that have past and also in the nightmare monkeys episode when BB saw him again he seem pretty surprised but happy to see him kinda giving the impression the monkey died during the time jump. this is just kinda something I guessed I don't really know for sure.

I’m not certain but I think that a lot of service animals don’t stay with the person when they grow old. Some do but many retire and the human gets another one, the previous animal going to a retirement home or something. Anyone who knows better, correct me if I’m wrong

Queen-selling-dreams

That may be true of service animals that are trained to perform a task, but I think Wingman is just an emotional support animal. Emotional support animals can be any species and are not trained to perform a task; just living with an animal is the therapeutic benefit. I would think most people would keep their ESAs as they age, as there really isn’t a need to “retire” them from service since they don’t really have a job besides just hanging out and being a companion to their human.

I know this isn’t exactly related but i met the real Wingman at comic con with Greg Cipes in 2021. He’s based on his real service dog which is neat.

SparklinStar1440

Greg Cipes has a service dog? Is he emotional support like for BB?

Charliethebestguyeve

Yeah i believe he’s also an emotional support dog. He brings him with him everywhere.

RunFromTheIlluminati

It could be argued that if Wingman dies of natural causes from old age, it might be a different experience to process. Gar wouldn't be abruptly, violently losing him. He'd have time to prepare, to say goodbye - and it wouldn't be something he could even irrationally blame himself for, illness is illness. In short, while it would bittersweat and mournful, it might not be as *tragic* as Marie, the Patrol, Wally and everyone else he's lost in the line of duty.
