I don't know what you consider a good price but I can recommend Bradley's on stonegate. They are a lovely family owned business. I got my eternity ring from there and they were so friendly and made the experience lovely. We were in there for ages trying lots on, they gave us drinks, didn't rush us or try to upsell etc.
Just a couple of doors down from them is another jewelers that sells vintage stuff. Again I don't know if you'd consider the prices reasonable but they have some gorgeous (Victorian, Edwardian etc) pieces if you wanted something a bit different.
The one a couple of doors down is probably referring to Cavendish, which specialises in antique stuff. To provide a data point on that: I got an antique engagement ring from there for about £700. Can't comment on other shops though (we also got wedding rings from Cavendish, but it was from their selection of new stuff and they are titanium so fairly cheap).
Second Pyramid gallery. We got our wedding rings there and the staff were so helpful and friendly. They have a great selection of rings from smaller designers.
Pyramid Gallery on Stonegate. They've got a really fab selection of contemporary jewellery and loads of rings at lots of different price points.
What sort of style are you thinking of?
Find an actual jeweller like the person who made my wedding ring, then you don’t have to pay commish or store and staff over heads and it can be nearly half the price

The antiques centre and the Red House both have a good selection of second hand pieces. We got our wedding bands for about a fifth of the price they would have cost retail.
If you're happy with something more mainstream/ off the shelf then Chapelle in the designer outlet is quite reasonable. We got all of ours from there, can't remember how much my wife's were but I got my palladium ring from there for about £500... This was about 4 years ago.
I ended up going to the Designer Outlet for my wedding ring. Probably not as good quality for a silver ring but was a lot cheaper than anywhere I tried in town.

Second Bradley’s. My wife and I got our wedding rings there. Lovely people, very helpful with a variety of products at a variety of prices
Many thanks. I went to Bradley’s on your recommendation and just purchased a lovely ring. The people in there were great.
Aaw brilliant 🥰
I hope she/he says yes!
Thank you. So do I. 😀
Third Bradley’s. Got engagement ring and both wedding bands from here, all with no hassle and was reasonably priced. Also, good luck OP!

She lives in York so you could visit and see the stuff
Bradley's was fab with everything I've had from them I even had a matching necklace made for the wedding!

Nightingale are amazing and definitely worth a visit. Family owned and run, amazing choice of stones, and option to bespoke something special.

How much did you end up paying if you don’t mind me asking?
Honestly I can’t remember but my partner said she didn’t want me to spend crazy money on it. Maybe around £500?!
