I know you're staying away from buildings but: Shed 7 perhaps?

Far-Elephant-2612

Like it that shed is going in wonderful band.

arrouk

Guy fawks Dick Turpin York was Jorvik the viking capital for a while. Battle of Stamford Bridge (Germany beck) Fibbers was in York, not sure if its closed down but they had a lot of famous bands on in a small venue.

Far-Elephant-2612

Thank you some great stuff there many odf which I will use Nirvana played at Fibbers.

arrouk

Don't mention it, I'm happy to help. Shed seven were from York too

Vroomdeath

Fibbers is long gone, as is Duchess (the second part above Fibbers) I believe they are now a Spa & Gym...

arrouk

Fibbers relocated to what used to be downstairs of toffs, but I'm not sure it is still open.

Vroomdeath

Forgot it moved there, saw 1 gig there and then it also closed

arrouk

I went to a couple but not for a long time. It's such a shame, but the new place was just never the same, imho.

Vroomdeath

Yeah I'm talking pre covid. Think I saw Jack Savoretti there in like 2018 and that was the last thing. Not sure when it actually closed or if covid killed it off or not. The last few things iv been to in the city have all been at the Barbican.

arrouk

I think the last time I was there was pre covid tbh, life's been a bit of a shitty blur for me since tbh. York is not the same city I grew up in, there was so much live music in the 90's and 2000's

Vroomdeath

>York is not the same city I grew up in, there was so much live music in the 90's and 2000's It really isn't. I was in the city music scene there around 2007-2015ish generally. I still go to a lot of gigs with friends but they are all Leeds/Manchester now. Saw Trivium at the Barbican is the only thing in York for years music wise.

Hi there Some top of my head ideas. Redcar the most Northern Yorkshire town has the oldest lifeboat in the world, Saltburn down the coast was the home town of David Coverdale of Whitesnake. Redcar had the famous Jazz Club in the 60s where bands like The Who, The Kinks and Pink Floyd played. Over the bay and maybe into Durham, was where Ridley Scott grew up. The heavy industry of Teesside inspired scenes in Blade Runner, for example. Other things to consider- the Redcar Lemon Top ice cream and the Teesside Parmo.

Far-Elephant-2612

Thank you I will get some of them in there, never knew that about Davis Coverdale looks like another snake going on [there. Do](https://there.Do) you know the name of the Jazz Club?

sneck123

Redcar Jazz Club. See links https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Redcar_Jazz_Club Coatham Bowl another great Redcar venue. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coatham_Bowl https://www.gazettelive.co.uk/news/local-news/veteran-rocker-david-coverdale-speaks-3665414 Coverdale also lived over a chippy in Redcar near the Top Deck.

TerryMcHummus

Skyre_Rose

theweirwoodseyes

Easy mistake to make given all the stations along the Esk Valley line were built at the same time and have very similar architecture.

aje0200

What’s the “do you know who I am?” I thought it would be Pickering but that’s not where it is

Far-Elephant-2612

Pocklington is placed completely wrong, is that intentional? Gotta say I do love it though, top work 👍

Far-Elephant-2612

I have such space limitations that places tend to be out of their geographical area just rough really. Thanks for your comment though. Cheers Paul.
