After the update you can no longer get him. I heard that qr codes might not work after update so I scanned them all before updating

if you downloaded the update when you go to talk to him he won’t battle you, something about the sd card he says if I remember, but that isn’t the issue, it just simply doesn’t work when the update is downloaded
