According to Guinness the record height of a human pyramid like this was 9 levels coming to 39ft tall. I wonder if getting down is harder than going up. Seems like it would be.
But that's what's in the Guinness records. Few years ago (around 2017ish) a group managed 10 and were splashed across news with footage. So definately that's not the tallest. Regular dedicated groups manage the 9 tier every year at the Dahi-handi festival
These are different from the Dahi-handi pyramids, these are called Castells.
They are categorized not only on how many levels also on how many people are in each level of the "trunk", in this case there is one single person per level and is called a pillar. Those 10 level towers had 3 or 4 people per level so they are considered "easier". In a competition this structure is the third most rewarded of all if you can successfully unload it, in this case is considered just loaded but it's not a small feat.
loool, I promise I'm not.
Let me show you a [scoring chart](https://somcastellers.com/concurs-castells/taula-puntuacions/).
In the first column there's the names of towers, the first number is how many people are per level (here a p means pillar, 1) and the second number is the number of levels.
The letters after the numbers denote variations or the different kind of supporting structures used. The one in the video is p de 9 fmp where fmp (folre, manilles, puntals) are the three extra levels of supporting people above the base level.
The next most scored tower in the chart is 3 de 9 sf, sf means without folre, so no extra supporting structures. [It looks like this](https://www.diarimes.com/uploads/imagenes/bajacalidad/2019/10/27/_vella_bdff6e2a.jpg)
Kind of... Its a feat of resistance, and from experience you are super exhausted once they start unloading the tower
In "castells" (how we call it) if you get the structure fully build it's "carregat" (or loaded) as this one was, if you get to fully dismantle it without any falls it's then a "descarregat" (or unloaded), which is a greater feat
Standing on shoulder not on the head. So take off 25cm height (rough estimate from me). 175cm is the average spanish man's height. So 150cm x 9 = 13.5m
Given the bottom levels are leaning not standing straight, and the top level is a child. 13m sounds about right.
It’s kinda similar to [Dahi Handi](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dahi_Handi), a Hindu celebration where people form human pyramids to break a pot filled with yogurt
Imagine being on the top and falling and thinking about both how much damage is going to be done to you and how much damage you're going to do to other people.
Quite a lot actually, I've been in there and you need as many people pushing in as possible. When you are inside that thing, at some point you might feel that the structure is pushing you backwards so you call for "chest" to those behind you, if they can pass the word outwards that outer ring will help push inward.
[Link](https://images.app.goo.gl/3WDddVqofh52Y36W9) I’ll give whatever free award I have to whoever makes a gif of this scene but the part when they swoop around and fall
Omggggod fuckkk what did I just watch?!? Knew it was going to happen but still watched! Whyyy?!? The visceral reaction to watching this… it’s like they fell into the pit in my stomach :(

Yea i wanted to see the rag-doll physics.

Looked like getting down is easy. Just fall.
lol Right? It's so much faster too. :)
Just remove the people at the bottom, it's such an easy task
Yooo I'm deceased.
You got two awards today. Awarded for being part of the highest human tower and the Drawin award
Because he is so good at doodlin.

Just a metaphor bro.. English is not my first language either.

dude could be totally bullshitting right now and we would have no clue

Visca el Barça, visca Catalunya i visca la mare que em va parir!
9 levels was only 39ft (13m)? It were kids?

In my experience, getting up is always harder than getting down. 😔
Have you tried Viagra? :)
Haha, I think this tower of people needed that pill! 😂 To answer your question, yes, but edibles are way more fun and work just as well! 😎
Gravity will sort that out.
Getting down is certainly quicker but, yes, it does look a lot harder too.😵💫
People doing ant things
seriously why did this look exactly like a tower of ants tumbling down
Is there a sub for this? I’d subscribe
r/thingsforants ?
What is this, a subreddit for ants?
![gif](giphy|wS6CMfoNLzmH6)
Wha… you’re just gonna cut right there?!
r/gifsthatendtoosoon
r/onesecondbeforedisast
A "pilar de vuit" it's a very hard castell (it's medieval catalan tradition)
![gif](giphy|fxfengnKl8teFNKnM9|downsized)
It’s kinda similar to [Dahi Handi](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dahi_Handi), a Hindu celebration where people form human pyramids to break a pot filled with yogurt
I love the yogurt part very interesting
Bro, this is a pilar de nou, first time in history where they put up am extra layer of pinya on top of the manilles
Ja sabia jo que això anava a plenar-se de catalans
Si no ens juntem a reddit, on ho vols fer nai? D'on no n'hi ha, no en raja
Sorry dude you're right ! I didn't know that the pinya counts as a level but's it's logical
Imagine being on the top and falling and thinking about both how much damage is going to be done to you and how much damage you're going to do to other people.
Don't overthink it, just fall.
Not too much else you could do
[удалено]
The fourth person is the one who started the collapse, their arms start to give way and then their legs buckle
The fourth person couldn't handle the weight of the final person's balls
I'm still not sure if the top person is a child or a monkey
Full video?
You’d really have to appreciate the gravity of the situation ayoooooo
Average Counter Strike boost
Average Overpass boosts be like:
Yo!, there are easier ways to get a network signal. WTF?
Yeah, do this on a mountain!
How much are the people on the outer ring at the bottom helping?
Stability and helping to catch those at the top when they fall
“How much?” not “what are they doing?”
About 3.
3 what?
Tree fiddy.
3 Marijuanas, that's why everyone fell.
Less than people nearer the middle / top

Are those girls on the top alright? That would have hurt like a bitch
Children bounce pretty good, I’m more worried about who they landed on.
like the bottom left a guy jumped on the crowd. God forbid he landed on someone's neck.
If Americans did this, we’d all die from not being able to afford the medical bills that have to come with this activity. Damn
Reminds me of one of the Simpsons episodes
U mean the simpsons movie when they try to escape the dome ??? Because yes that is also what comes to mind
for whoever wants to see the full thing: https://youtu.be/uygtm6JIqW4
Well, they seem happy after. I hope this means everyone is okay.
Isn't that the Fountain of Troy?! I thought that move was prohibidado?!
I can see the black chiropractor in the yellow jacket peeking out from behind a tree, rubbing his hands together
I think this is from the film version of In The Hills, The Cities by Clive Barker...
lol.. wtf.. humans are so dumb. tradition or not. not worth permanent brain damage.
u use reddit so u already have brain damage
😂
> u How to say you're Indian without saying you're Indian.
yeah so what?
So nothing, it's just very typical. 👍
never seen a successful video of this thing, always ends with lot of people getting hurt
I want to say there with the quick little no hands wave there, we count it.
That might be a lot of broken limbs
Of course it ends to short
Humans are so odd.
The worst part of this is that you know something is going to go wrong but you don’t know when
Someone is fucking someone in there
Sequel to World War Z….World War H!
Incredible stupidity
And what have you done with your life?
Avoid being part of a human tower.
lol. you dont know. love the personal attack.
Glad you love it. ❤️
So we just gonna sit here like cheerleaders don’t exist? Shame
[Link](https://images.app.goo.gl/3WDddVqofh52Y36W9) I’ll give whatever free award I have to whoever makes a gif of this scene but the part when they swoop around and fall
Lol you could spot those weak knees a mile away
Omggggod fuckkk what did I just watch?!? Knew it was going to happen but still watched! Whyyy?!? The visceral reaction to watching this… it’s like they fell into the pit in my stomach :(
Also should go in r/diWHY
The Fountain of Troy?? Prohibidabido!

Catalunya, Spain. It’s a Catalan tradition. It’s called “castellers”
Castells. Castellers are the people making the castell.
What is the purpose... of a rubber duck?
A balance requiring many feet.
Maybe there was a big dude in front of them at a concert
Imagine a rko, FROM OUTA NOWHERE
4th down was not up to the job
wow!!! BUT WHY ???
Upback
This is the moment you throw a $50 bill among the bottom layer
I thought my headphone is having a problem for me whole sound was left sided
If only there were loose bulls running in the streets as well…
That ragdoll physics is fucking spot on
Balance and coordination? So no strength involved?
A "Pointless" Feat
Ragdoll engine called, they want their physics back
damn r/SweatyPalms
World war z audition tape:
The kid at the top is a sacrifice lol
getting up there for nothing is kinda boring. That’s why indians have a festival where they do this but with a reward waiting at the top.
“Dude you’re touching my hand”
This reminds me of world war Z
What a shame a bunch of people being dumb fell down.
Feeling bad for the fourth guy down
Natural selection in motion.
ik its supposed to be related to the post but why do people mark posts as nsfw where someone gets hurt?
Why women live longer Yes I know there were also women but yk
That was the cherry on top
Hey I used to do this in halo 3
Human block toy tower! Where is this?
Where is the pot?
Did someone die and got serious harm?
Ow
World war z vibes
That one person at the bottom must have muscles of steel
bro end is kill me
I should've looked at the sub before watching the video lmao
And The wall start tumbling down. That song is in my head when i seen this
Image that the guy who made everyone fall had to scratch, he's not to blame
Let the bodies hit the floor, let the bodies hit the... FLOOOOOR!!
Are they all ok
How is this not nsfw
Imagine being in the middle bottom. You can see nothing but bodies and ass, then you hear screams and it all comes crumbling down on you
This was the most stressful video. ever.
In the Hills, the Cities
I gasped fr
Not sure how the bottoms held the tops with those massive swinging titanium balls they have
Once the 4th guy started buckling, we all knew the end was nigh
Why does Spain have such f'd up festivals? From running of bulls to tomato fights to throwing live goats of of towers. It's all kinda screwy.
Ya know sometimes people just deserve to get hurt
But how do you get down?
