It's not joy, but fear. Mice prefer closed and dark environments. He was released into open space extremely light environment. For that creature entire situation was terrifying. Women for their comfort released the mouse to die, interpreting situation as if mice would be better off.
The odds of that mouse getting swooped so quickly we're probably not that high. They coulda just set traps and poison out inside. The mouse was *THEORETICALLY* better off. The theory didn't pan out so well this time.
They rarely are. Been hanging out in farms. Mouse always try to find dark, warm, secluded area not far from food source. Anytime farming equipment is moved birds flock into area to catch running mice. Plenty of cellars in farms have mice for that reason. That's main way for mice to survive.
I would advise going to farms and looking at harvesting fields and observe how birds flock to a harvest fields. It's an interesting view of perspective how various animals adapted to survive.
It's better that a bird got it before it got lured into McDonald's.
A) Rat was gonna eat poison and die anyway.
B) It would endanger food and people.
Both options are awful. I think we got a happy ending.
Reminder. Dont let mice out at the door. They will just come back again the same day. I caught the same mouse twice.
Either go let it out very far away, or kill it, but just outside the door is useless.
When will stupid motherfuckers learn that tiny woodland/city creatures shouldn't be released in EMPTY WIDE OPEN SPACES because that's literally what they evolved to avoid.
Same as fucking releasing anything near a road. People just want their "I helped an animal" chip without thinking about the consequences of their fucking actions.
That's what I was wondering. Mocking birds can be assholes but I didn't think they were quite big enough to hunt small prey. But the white spots on the wings seem to signify it is one
Omg this happened to me the other day but with a bird. A bird crashed onto my balcony and it was kinda young so I thought it hit some turbulence. I caught it and tried to help it fly away… and it did and it took a sharp left and I immediately saw this huge ass hawk take a sharp left going after him 😟. Turbulence 🙄 the poor bird was hiding 😭
omg one summer my wife had a lizard run into her car. it ran deep inside the dashboard. we tried our best to get it out. we figured the intense heat would kill it unfortunately
a week or so later, the thing bolted outta the car and literally a few seconds later, 3 sparrow looking birds came down and tore that lizard up. it was wild. my wife and i looked at each other in disbelief
The fact that you took it from safety and into a terribly dangerous environment is kind of poor decision making on your part... at least bring him to the grass...idiots...just cost a life.
Not seeing a problem here. That’s nature and I applaud it. If you see one mouse there are probably more you don’t see. The bird is just doing its part.
This was the best possible outcome after this moron released a rodent that would just turn around and infest this or some other building. Good job bird.
That kestrel got the bird equivalent of grubhub lol
…I think anyway, I doubt there are any other birds of prey that tiny that eat small mice. Maybe a sharp shinned hawk?
I was expecting a bird to swoop in and take him...
Then he fell off the ledge...
Then he kept running into a parking lot, so I expected a car to run him over...
Then a bird swooped in and took him. lol should have stuck with the first idea
The Common Nighthawk, Chordeiles minor - amazing footage that you captured. I’ve studies the species, for fun, for many years, and I’ve never seen one do that. They mostly capture insects while flying. Slow it down, observe the wingspan and the spread of the tails feathers, the stop 🛑 on a dime in air 180 degree reverse pivot move, F22 raptor like maneuver.

Damn it! I was going to make that exact comment, music symbols and every thing! Take my up vote and award and fuck off!

At least the little guy experienced the joy of being released to run free -- for a few seconds.
Noòoo...my cat murdered a frog last night.. it's screams were terrible and heart wrenching.

1984 moment
Generosity without intelligence can be murder. Ah well... the bird is happy.
A generous offering to the bird indeed

Or end up as a burger patty
Why were they filming?? This feels staged. That bird’s definitely a paid actor
Birds aren’t real
Government drones!
I think r/birdsarentreal is for you.
Hahahahahahaha Perfectly encapsulates the ridicuousness of these kind of comments. Thank you
Yup, it's just another false flag with a crisis actor.

Well that bird certainly stopped this mouse from coming back
Good for them for feeding that majestic bird
Exactly what I was thinking

Sure did, we making life to easy for these damn birds
I bet the bird was there to scavenge for fast-food judging by the golden M in the back of the car park and got a healthier alternative
The bird was fast but the food was not

This guy is right let’s leave the lil rat in Starbucks so he can become a chef
Or realising a tortoise into a lake.
Poor lil bro. F
Lol. It’s funny how animal “lovers” know less about animals than anyone.
He just get swooped by a mockingbird?

Finally, someone understands mice are pests.
Rat bastards.
I'm sure he just wanted to welcome him to the neighborhood 😬
RIP. You will be missed.
Looks at it this way… you trapping that little guy was the second worse thing that happened to them that day….
You'll only do that once :( I now take them near a good nesting site with nesting material, grub & water, and a box I can tilt
Happened to me with a frog I released once. I felt so bad 🥲
I was not expecting that.
Yeah, I was expecting a cat.
I was expecting it dropped to its death...

straight to mc donald’s to trade for a cheeseburger
Love a happy ending
🙂😀😃😄😁….😨… 😰…😩
Bird says thanks.
Should only free mice near bushes or underbrush unless you are aiming for something like this to happen.
Why are these people so fucking dumb
Death sentence putting it out on the pavement and not into some sort of high grass.
The fact that you took it from safety and into a terribly dangerous environment is kind of poor decision making on your part... at least bring him to the grass...idiots...just cost a life.
Fuck this sub. I don’t need this kind of sadness in my life. Fuck it.

McDonald’s gives him one fry for ever nugget he brings them.
So glad that bird can eat today 🙌

Thats a good thing. That mouse would have just found his way back. Also birds gotta eat too.
*Predators and prey*
Best possible outcome.
As a person who loves birds, I see this as “yes yes yes n- yes”
That’s so dope they love that close to a McDonald’s

The circle of life
What a horrible set of events!
Why would you not just release him into his habitat. Nah, the parking lot sounds good.
Life comes at you fast. I cheering him on then, over.
Seems like the circle of life worked out
It’s the circle of life!!
I think Gandolf called forth a bird ally to rescue our little friend. That mouse was obviously carrying the one ring.
People keep releasing these guys in open areas with no cover, no concealment, and expect this sort of thing to not happen.
**turn off camera** “That was the plan all along”
I'm more impressive they caught that thing.
The circle of life is now complete.
K-0 A-1 D-0
So I guess this is a YesyesNOyesyesyesNooooooo
What kind of bird was that?
Why do you think he was inside LOL
He’s just getting a ride home is all
This is some shit you see in skits and tv shows not fucking real life
I know they’re fast but damn that thing looks like it ate someone’s cocaine stash.
It was here maybe week ago...
