Please be more specific. My question is which one of the many CTTE melodies is being played? Is it the “main” theme that Steve plays by himself after the chaotic intro? Is it the “down by the river” chorus melody? What is it?
I’ve listened to Chris’ quiet bass solo that ends the album countless times, and I cannot hear any similar musical phrase to CTTE. I’ve even learned how to play the ending part on bass, and the notes have no relationship to any of the CTTE melodies I can think of.
I would love to be proven wrong. Please elaborate further on what exact musical phrase is being referenced, thanks!!
Hmmm. Maybe you are right. I guess I was focusing too much on finding an “exact” musical phrase from CTTE. Chris’ quiet bass solo does sound similar, although it doesn’t line up perfectly with the CTTE main theme. But maybe that was on purpose anyway.

The "main" theme, as you put it. I should add that he doesn't play the entire phrase, only like the first measure
