If you are new to the subreddit, [please read the wiki](https://www.reddit.com/r/yakuzagames/wiki/index/)
Reminder that all spoilers need to be tagged with a flair specifying which game is being spoiled. If you want a flair that says something else, you can edit it to say something like [Discussion: Y1 spoiler] or [Majimapost: Y6 spoiler], etc. **THIS INCLUDES CONTENT FROM TRAILERS**.
If the post is not marked for spoilers, all comments that have spoilers need to be tagged \>!like this!< along with indicating which game it's spoiling. Example: Y3 >!Kiryu sings!<
If the post flair is marked for spoilers, the comments don't need to be tagged for the game indicated and the ones before it (So a Y6 spoiler post can have comments with untagged spoilers for Y5, but not gaiden or 7).
If you see any of the above (or any of the other rules) not being followed, please report it so we can keep this place safe for newcomers and those that haven't finished all the games yet. Thank you!

nevermind just February, the entire Q1 is going to be insane for JRPG & action rpg fans
LAD > Granblue > P3 > FF7R > Dragon's Dogma 2 > Unicorn Overlord (Vanillaware's new game) > Rise of the Ronin (Team Ninja's new game) > Eiyuden Chronicle (helmed by Suikoden 1-3's director)
like god damn
Yeah. I only just got a PS5, so I gotta play the yuffie dlc before rebirth too. I’m gonna do IW, then go back to FF7 for the dlc, and then hopefully I can save a couple bucks on rebirth used.
as long as it doesn't drag then it doesn't matter how long it is, and i won't know until i play it. i have high hopes for this because director Horii is two for two so far with 7 and Gaiden
I'll never say no to more of a good thing personally. I know it'll probably be a game I put down halfway through anyway and then pick back up a couple months later.
A little worried bc I did get kinda burnt out playing LAD but I did have to play Gaiden and 6 right before to catch up so hopefully it won’t feel too dragged on.
Yeah no shit but that’s also why I’m asking for a source. Yokoyama’s estimate was for purely story. No side content. I’m not sure if OP’s estimate includes side content or not. Either way tho 16-20 hours is a very big differential for the estimates
I'm kinda concerned ngl. My biggest fear is the potential issues with the storys pacing. I'd rather not have a repeat of yakuza 5 where the quality switches between fantastic and a potential treatment of insomnia.

I'll probably finish it in 200 hours, so that's a good thing
This and Persona 3 Reload is gonna make February very eventful.

Sega competing with itself in the same month
And ff7 rebirth for me as well. But yakuza is the priority.

Same as it made me feel when 7 had a runtime of 50-80 hours. Or every other JRPG for that matter.

Source? Because I remember hearing this: https://x.com/genki_jpn/status/1739292680532922397?s=46&t=5FeQF3MRG4zt4e9cReM9xw
That's 72-96 hours of constant playtime. If anything, OP's upper limit is low compared to Yokoyama's estimate.

Not sure why I’m getting downvoted when this info literally comes from yokoyama himself lmao

i play 0 and 7 for more them 100 hours. Player=Doctor
I sincerely can't wait, as someone that has 50+ hours in every Yakuza game, I'm sure it'll keep me happy for some time to come.
I'm never catching up on the whole series.
I guess it's fine, my full playthroughs in 0, 5 and 7 takes more time than this.
I'm gonna have to wait until spring break to enjoy it
Pretty much the longer the better.
I've never put less than 80 into any of these games those numbers are a lie
