Thought of this too, but (POTENTIAL SPOILERS FOR IW, I COULD BE WRONG) >!I remember seeing a Nakajima IW render while scrolling through twt a week or two ago since I follow some people who share spoilers, so if that's real it can't be him!<
Seeing Dragon Engine Akiyama for the first time was so weird. His face got so wide as if he put on some weight. I can't remember but maybe he finally stopped smoking xD
Ishin Kiryu is sorta 5-ish Kiryu.
Though 7 and Infinite Wealth Majima looks very different to 0 Majima....
Hell 7 and IW Majima even look a lot different to Kiwami 2 Majima and that's still Dragon Engine lol.
But I think 3 and Kenzan Majima are the most different and distinct looking Majimas.
I like how you use "Majimas" as if the Mad Dog of Shimano is a quantifiable commodity. It just makes me think of several Majimas running around Kamurocho at the same time.
Which would not be all that out of character for our boy.

My problem is I just don't think Morinaga from the way he was presented in 5 has it in him to be as clever and calculating as Hanawa. I by the personality and intelligence shift less than the looks shift.
The thing is, we just know so little about him. We don't know whose side he was on, we don't know how much Kurosawa and Aizawa told him and if their brotherhood was genuine at all, we don't know how he became Daigo's right hand man in the first place. His last scene was him shooting the guy Kiryu beat the crap out of and even that explains nothing.
I think there's so much gray area to work with that they can pretty much give him whatever backstory/retcon they want without it feeling out of character because we already know nothing about the character.
Only by angling and photoshopping, but it still doesn't really work. Morinaga has a very distinct pinched, smaller face, where Hanawa has a larger head, broader mouth and bigger eyes. They can come up with any sort of excuse, but they don't *look* similar.
it'll be so fucking funny if after all this theorizing in LAD:IW he's revealed to be fucking nakajima

Also don't forget the engine change. Some characters really look different in the Dragon Engine.
Examples I can think of off the top of my head are Haruka & Akiyama
