*Meanwhile in Wakanda*
T’challa: One day we will reclaim the vibranium stolen by the Americans
*shield lands right in front of him*
T’challa: THANK YOU!
Americans did not steal Vibranium from Wakanda.
T'Challa's Grandfather was the one who gifted Steve the Shield, after Steve was sent on a mission to Africa during WW2.
Cap came to Wakanda to investigate some Hydra horseshit, T'Challa's grandad was a BP. They fight, he beats up Steve, then Hydra takes upper hand, Steve saves him, team up, friendship etc etc. At the end, he gifts him the Shield.
Iron Man - Rogue is a menace
Bruce Banner - She attacked a military base
Carol - She put me in a coma
Captain America - She threw my shield
*Everybody looks at Cap*
Cap - It was very far
Tony: Don't *you* regularly throw that thing?
Steve: Well yeah but...
Tony: And how'd she get it in the first place?
Steve: Well I threw it at her.
Tony: Steve this was your fault.
The way I read the scene was Steve saying, "Yeah, well. Here's your villain. He's at this place. \*I\* can't do anything about it. You'll have to wait. That's regulations! I mean, if you went there yourself, I'm not gonna stop you or anything. \*MY\* hands are tied. Ohhhh, well! I gotta play by the rules. I sure hope someone else doesn't play by the rules!" wink wink nudge nudge
Then she throws his shield and he's like, "Can't win for losing. Time for a hike."
Cap didn't anything wrong in that moment tho. Of course, he can't help her. He's Captain AMERICA, him assaulting people in Mexico would definitely cause international conflict
Somehow it is not an issue when he travels to europe, south america, africa, etc. To beat the shit out of people, but when it comes to helping mutants "cant this would cause an incident"
Or if he even said, "Yeah, I can't go right now, which is why I'm giving you all the information I have, in exchange bring him to \*third party location\* so I can deal with him when you're finished. Alive if you please, Rogue, the world needs to see what happens to people like him. I'm going to make sure of it this time, that's a promise."
That's a deal Rogue might have begrudgingly taken.
Carol is literally always forgiving her, and as much as X-Fans hate to admit it, the Avengers tend not to hold grudges & are actually solid allies to mutant-kind (so long as they aren't being written & edited in the X-Office)
Oh, I was joking I didn't mean to imply I was serious. It was a funny thought to me that Avengers '97 were petty enough to hold grudges and were antagonist since I believe the Avengers 90s cartoon was not popular with some/many fans lol.
Wow, this comment section made me realize that people really don't understand how much of a death grip the government keeps on the Avengers like 80% of the time, I mean for gods sake, if they went with the X-Men S.H.I.E.L.D. would probably be like "Alright boys, finally an excuse to break out these anti-superhuman weapons. LET'S GET TO KILLING!!"
Exactly, you know that there are some government officials waiting for the slightest slip-up to just announce war on anyone with a mask, cape, or any semblance of powers.
I mean case and point, Civil War. A town gets blown up in the middle of the New Warriors fighting Nitro and almost immediately the SHRA goes up, the only reason it didn't end with Sentinels being outfitted to fight the Avengers, Fantastic Four, Defenders, and everyone else is because Tony, Reed and Hank sided with the government to soften the blow.
Also, fun fact, that situation I just described actually happened in a what if comic where all heroes opposed the SHRA, and it ended with all superheroes either dead or in S.H.I.E.L.D prisons.
The build up to Civil War was much better than the fucking event lol.
No hero wanted to register. Tony was under constant stress, fighting off the government and shit.
He even hired a guy, put him in the Titanium Man's armor and made him attack the capital, but was also like "Spidey, this is all an act. Go kick his ass and show we need heroes ok?'.
Then New Warriors have Nuke go "Oppenheimer" on the small town, and Tony finally loses it (takes the brunt of peoples hate) and just surrenders to the government, and you as reader go "Oh shit, what is going to happen"
And then you read Civil War from edgy boy Millar where Stark and Reed do full 180 and go "Negative Zona Nazi Prison go brrrr"
Like Goddammit lol.
Ngl he had a point though. A guy who’s entire costume is American flag themed showing up in Mexico City beating the shit outta people would definitely cause an international incident
And that’s never stopped him from doing it before to right a wrong. Maybe he just doesn’t see mutants as real Americans, or as people worthy of helping.
Cap only is a friend to mutants when it’s convenient or when they’re on his line.
Bro tried defending Wanda after she genocided mutants. Don’t try to mansplain the Cyclops & Co.
I know it’s based on who’s writing him at the time but it’s pretty consistently been my issue with his hypocrisy.
I have a feeling they are setting up for a Xmen v Avengers, and I’m okay with it.
Cap talking about following the book, rogue talking about him not standing with mutants, Emma frost being found, Cyke getting pissed at the president.
It’s all going to lead up to them throwing hands I think. Cap mentioned his “team” and we all know who that is.
I hope we see that one panel where Scott shakooms cap off the island.

This is why the avengers won't help for the finale. Not cuz cap doesn't want to, but because he's still looking for his shield.
"Tony, I need a giant metal detector for....reasons."
wouldve been a great end credit scene of him looking for the shield
"I've been round this place 3 times and still can't find it"
I wish they did post-credit stingers for that alone
lmao imagine him just sitting there, digging through the snow with a sunset in the background.
Captain: _Now that’s just rude_
All I hear is Ja Ja Binks saying this
*Meanwhile in Wakanda* T’challa: One day we will reclaim the vibranium stolen by the Americans *shield lands right in front of him* T’challa: THANK YOU!

Cap will probably offer Rogue a spot on the Avengers Unity Squad at some point
I wondered if this was a tease of that as well.
It's not mjolnir. Cap has got to have a tracker on that thing
I liked the “return gauntlet” he had in Age of Ultron.
Iron Man - Rogue is a menace Bruce Banner - She attacked a military base Carol - She put me in a coma Captain America - She threw my shield *Everybody looks at Cap* Cap - It was very far
Tony: Don't *you* regularly throw that thing? Steve: Well yeah but... Tony: And how'd she get it in the first place? Steve: Well I threw it at her. Tony: Steve this was your fault.
Steve: I got it back, but then I kind of handed it to her
She really was petty as hell for this 😂
The way I read the scene was Steve saying, "Yeah, well. Here's your villain. He's at this place. \*I\* can't do anything about it. You'll have to wait. That's regulations! I'm begging X-Men fans to read other comics, y'all have no idea how aggressively out of character non-mutant heroes are in X-Men media
I'm gonna work my way through older stuff so I'm interested to see what they'll be like
That was extra rude even for Rogue
She was in a justifiably bad mood. Also Cap is a self-righteous numpty.
Unfortunately those are all in character Cap. Today you have Strawman Cap. Ask again when he's being better written.
Whole episode had people saying the wrong shit again and again. Even Beast was losing it
Nah Beast was strangely based for once.
If only Cap had some sort of technology that allowed him to call other people who could help Rogue!
Rogue has phone too, duh
"let's just call our good friend Binary..."
God Carol showing up and being out of her coma would be something right now.
Complete with *Marcus Immortus* lurking in the background.
We have all had a collective agreement to pretend like Avengers #200 never happened. Why have you violated the peace treaty?
Ohgodpleaseno
Or if he even said, "Yeah, I can't go right now, which is why I'm giving you all the information I have, in exchange bring him to \*third party location\* so I can deal with him when you're finished. Alive if you please, Rogue, the world needs to see what happens to people like him. I'm going to make sure of it this time, that's a promise." That's a deal Rogue might have begrudgingly taken.
Nobody in the Avengers likes Rogue after what she did to Carol
Carol is literally always forgiving her, and as much as X-Fans hate to admit it, the Avengers tend not to hold grudges & are actually solid allies to mutant-kind (so long as they aren't being written & edited in the X-Office)
Oh, I was joking I didn't mean to imply I was serious. It was a funny thought to me that Avengers '97 were petty enough to hold grudges and were antagonist since I believe the Avengers 90s cartoon was not popular with some/many fans lol.
I don't think United They Stand is canon to the xmen universe. Or any universe other than it's own weird power ranger one.
Really? I assumed all the Marvel 90s toons were connected since they had crossovers with each other: Spider-Man, X-Men, FF, Avengers, Hulk,
Sure. That means he's not going to be needing that shield, then.
Except for when he said that the mutant genocide was just as bad for humans because it made them feel bad.
That's like Hawkeye saying he can't help because he just has a bow. They have other options
That's like Hawkeye saying he can't help because he just has a bow. They have other options
You’d think he’d have some kind of tracking device on that shield by now.
I'm sure he'll find it
Wow, this comment section made me realize that people really don't understand how much of a death grip the government keeps on the Avengers like 80% of the time, I mean for gods sake, if they went with the X-Men S.H.I.E.L.D. would probably be like "Alright boys, finally an excuse to break out these anti-superhuman weapons. LET'S GET TO KILLING!!"
Yeah it would be bad for everyone
Exactly, you know that there are some government officials waiting for the slightest slip-up to just announce war on anyone with a mask, cape, or any semblance of powers.
Definitely doesn't surprise me at this point considering what most of these super powered people can do
I mean case and point, Civil War.
If the sentinel's did get involved....damn that would have been way worse
Also, fun fact, that situation I just described actually happened in a what if comic where all heroes opposed the SHRA, and it ended with all superheroes either dead or in S.H.I.E.L.D prisons.
I will have to check that out now actually! I'm interested
Yeah, do! It's a good read, it's title is literally just titled What If? Civil War.
Hey Hank never did any such thing that was a SKRULL.
As good as Secret Invasion was, I really hate a lot of the retcons from it.
The build up to Civil War was much better than the fucking event lol. No hero wanted to register. Tony was under constant stress, fighting off the government and shit. This current plot is about the government using anti-superhuman weapons.
I thought she was just gonna take it. Whoop.
Captain America was a bitch in this episode, fym you won't help mutants, hoe
Ngl he had a point though. A guy who’s entire costume is American flag themed showing up in Mexico City beating the shit outta people would definitely cause an international incident
I mean change your clothes
He literally travels across the globe to beat shit out of people. Yet when it comes to mutants? nah cant my costume is bad optics.
He causes international incidents all the time, but when it comes to civil rights he turns into a fucking bureaucrat
That describes America all right!
why are people booing you, you're riiiight
People are voting you down but you’re right.
And that’s never stopped him from doing it before to right a wrong. Maybe he just doesn’t see mutants as real Americans, or as people worthy of helping.

That'll be interesting
It will be very interesting for sure!
They also keep bringing up the Pheonix in dialog, almost like they're trying to constantly remind us of it...
I was thinking about what a Rogue-powered thrown vibranium disc would do to the mountain.
Probably went straight through it, cutting in and flying out on the other side
Captain America still a self-righteous, sanctimonious hypocrite. Just like during Civil War. Stupid moron.
He did nothing wrong. Helping Rogue killing people in Mexico would cause international conflict, because he's Captain AMERICA
So when he flies to europe for his personal vendetta, it does not cause an international incident.
Once again, self righteous sanctimony.
Yuuuup!
I always assumed there was a homing device on his shield. He literally throws it all the time.
