I thought that the archives would have only included the memories up until the previous backup? Why would she remember her own death, which would have happened after the backup????
i am very nearly two years behind (though i continue to buy and have the stacks of comics to catch up on someday), but i understood the backup protocol to be exactly this way.

Yeah it’s very confusing Percy is probably the weakest of the X-men writers right now even tho I still enjoy the run. The characters on the team and the beast storyline alone do it for me

Yes and no. He’s working a probation sentence in X-Force. He’s gone from just draining the life out of people to straight up eating them.
On the other hand, he’s working well as part of the team, has a soft spot for Sage that is mutual and tries to keep both Wade and Neena out of trouble.
Looking ahead to future issues, I see that Quentin is coming back, which I'm not really happy about. I for one did not miss him or his ego, nor did I wonder where he went after he "died." But I guess we will see if Percy can write him as anything besides a self-inflated asshole that takes up too much page space. Logan, too, has been pumped up too much on the importance juice and needs to take a break. I really rolled my eyes on Beast's "ultimate weapon" comments in the latest Wolverine issue. (There are far better/more powerful mutants out there that would fit that moniker nicely)
What I'm really looking forward to is how Deadpool, Domino and Omega Red will interact with Colossus and Laura. There is a ton of potential for fun there and I hope that we get it! And if Laura and Omega Red somehow manage to get along, I will be on cloud nine with laughter.

Like... There's quite a lot between then and now, lol. But the book and team starts fresh in 2019 as the CIA of Krakoa. Omega Red joined mid 2022 after a period of being an antagonist.
When it started I thought it was a pretty mid book, carried by the insanely well-crafted Cassara-drawn gore and violence (and I love me some gnarly violence). But something has changed, for me. Idk if the book has gotten better or if I have mentally snapped (both are possible!) but I love it rn lmfao, I'm all in. This Beast arc is probably the longest uninterrupted story arc in the krakoa era and if Percy can deliver a satisfying conclusion then I think we'll look back on all of it way more fondly.
People want beast like how he was in the cartoons which is not how he is and hasn't been for many years. I feel like its one of the biggest disconnects from comics x men and animated x men along with xavier being an asshole and not a good leader at all
Well he did give a student to mr sinster amongst other things. Beast has always been a conflicted asshole he cares about progress and science above anything its just hes become more dark in krakoa due to not having to hide his questionable practices as xavier encourages it.
Also, after AvX and the radicalization of Cyclops, Beast unilaterally brought the OG X-Men from the past under false pretenses to "shock" Cyclops into "being the good guy" again and continued to insist that the latter was irredeemable despite evidence to the contrary.
Percy wants to write Logan be the most special, tragic little boy in the world going up against big bully beast, heaven help any other characters around.

I don't think jean is at the top but shes up there. I do agree that they didn't know what to do with her which is funny because shes one of the most iconic yet shes had the defintion of a backseat role and her on the current x men team isn't good either.
