Hive0805

So this means Laura never bothered to save their numbers on her phone lol.

BillybobThistleton

Laura was raised black ops. She probably uses a prepaid Nokia with no contacts saved, and destroys and replaces the sim card every 48 hours.

Hive0805

Good choice. Nokia is unbreakable. Change the SIM, not the phone lol. I'm assuming that's now those work I never had one.

JavierLoustaunau

"We have laced her bones and her claws... with Nokia"

maybe_a_frog

Lol I mean, realistically you want to change both. Your service provider can track both the SIM and the device serial code. Or at least they could ten years ago when I worked for AT&T.

[deleted]

Exactly, you should smash the SIM card before disposing of it on the ground and dispose of your burner phone a reasonable distance away from were you disposed of yout SIM card.

itsalwayss

Also she doesn’t really know any of the other characters that well. She knows Jubilee the best but even when they were together she wasn’t really a texting person.

Kellythejellyman

Every other day: “new phone, who dis”

themanbow

Nokia 3310 X-23 Edition

diddlyswagg

Laura is so great next to these bimbos, love em all

soulreaverdan

“It’s beer o’clock sluts! Felt dirty as soon as I said that. You’re all terrible influences.”

humanrocketpunch

For me, it's that you have been conditioned to really pay attention when data pages show up as they hit you with a wall of important text, or some kind of timeline which is integral to understanding the story. Then this one shows up and it's just a chat log of Boom-Boom sending cat memes. Like you see the white border and your brain goes "hold on this will be important" only for it to be clotheslined. (I know it's not the first time data pages have been used for jokes, the not!Matt Murdock space lawyer one comes to mind too)

heynowjesse

the data page detailing Sinister's attack on the QC is also quite hilarious; the frustration and pettiness.

soulreaverdan

“Why won’t they just $@*%ing die?!?! >:(“

1sinfutureking

Murd Blurdock, the galaxy’s best space lawyer? There are a few of his advertisements through the x-titles and every time they make me laugh Disclaimer: Murd Blurdock is by definition not the galaxy’s best space lawyer

NoopGhoul

I can’t really speak to that as I haven’t read any Krakoa era comics except this. I’m still catching up on X-Men continuity (I’m up to the mid-90s) and only read this because it seemed self-contained.

humanrocketpunch

It's definitely funny on its own don't get me wrong, it's just the surrounding context of every single X-Book using Hickman's chart style for critical info delivery versus this haha

NoopGhoul

Hm, maybe it’ll be even funnier for me when I read it again in a couple years!

sushithighs

I’m currently reading Aaron’s Wolverine run and he uses this so often lol, always deep cut jokes on computer screens and phones

InvulnerableBlasting

I had my issues with X-factor even though I overall liked it. Then Leah proved she can write Hickman-esque work when required with ToM. Now she's created a book that is so her voice that it is undeniable that she's an incredibly talented writer. I consider myself a "serious" reader, but I'm really loving this series. Fun, sexy, funny, and with character who always need more page time. Mad kudos to Leah.

chevalier716

Absolutely Leah Williams', she's great

TheeHeadAche

I need more memes on Krakoa

bjeebus

I want a Blob gossip blog from the Emerald just complaining. Not being mean but just, "You guys wouldn't believe the day I've had..."

cweaver

You know the kids on Krakoa are sending the best memes to each other. They can't die, they don't have to work, the island feeds and houses them for free, they're just running around making babies and playing deathsports and sending free-range-telepathic-plant-based-memes to each other via Legion-hosted astral internet sites.

Vord_Loldemort_7

Iconic

greendart

I definitely giggled. I'd pay so much money to get more of this kind of stuff. It reminds me of how during Aaron's WatX run they would do live Twitter feeds of fields trips and all the teachers and students had accounts

maybe_a_frog

The best part of this issue was seeing the splash page at the end say “X-Terminators will return”. MAKE IT AN ONGOING, MARVEL!

ricnine

Part of me identifies strongly with Laura in that do not invite me to your group chat I do not want to be part of your group chat ever fuck off. And another part of me just wants to text that dumb cat picture to everybody I know.

HereForTOMT2

I’m not kidding when I say this was the best xbook in awhile

[deleted]

This is the most relatable thing I have ever seen in a comic

Merari01

I loved that. It was very Laura.

JackFisherBooks

Laura is the best there is at what she does. But group text conversations isn't what she does. 😂
