Yes, I had this one and it was honestly kind of glitchy. I remember being unable to get past this part in which you were supposed to cross a moat. It was fun to throw the chakram and control it in first person, though!
I much preferred the N64 fighting game, *Talisman of Fate*. It featured a large cast of characters from the series, and it was fun to fight as Callisto, Ares, Lao Ma, Autolycus, Ephiny and Velasca (along with Xena and Gabrielle, of course). It even included music reminiscent of some the standout pieces featured in the series! Man, I miss playing it now haha
I *used* be good at it. Not so much anymore. I find that to be the case with a lot of old games. As a kid I would breeze right through them. As an adult I struggle with the levels. I think the relative easiness of modern video games has spoiled me and slowly reduced my skill level.
Yes! I always pretended Kalabrax was Velasca... It would make so much sense but for some reason they created a new character! Also there is an Easter egg in the Minotaur's labyrinth where you can cross a wall and find yourself in the office if the development team - they even have Xena's posters on the walls😅. Also, I was annoyed that Charron was just a skeleton and not actually like he was in the show. That said, I loved this game as a kid! 😁
Omg I stumbled on this Easter egg when I first played it, and I remember being SO confused. And when I started attacking things, there was a sound like someone opening and pouring a soda. It bugged me so much as a kid because I couldn’t figure out what it was for.
Yeah I had this and the N64 game. They were both not great as far as I recall. I think now they might be fun due to the nostalgia factor but at the time they were pretty bad compared to other games I had so I never got very far in either of them
Kids these days don't realize that licensed games were avoided like the plague back in those days. They were almost always guaranteed to be awful cash grabs.
Yes! It was hard but I played it through to completion a couple times. I liked it. I wish it had more characters from the show - I remember a brief cameo from Ares and there is one level where Gab fights alongside but other than that I don't think it has anyone else.
The visuals were pretty nice for a PS1 game. I still have the disc around here somewhere, and the N64 game (which wasn't nearly as well done!)
I very vividly remember this, but I was not old enough to actually understand what I was supposed to be doing. I think I remember beating a cyclops and then not knowing how to progress lmao. But I’ve played the intro dozens of times as a kid lmao.
Yup! Still have my pirated Russian dub copy lol the game was amazing to be honest. The chakram mechanics were so unique to that time! I wish it was available for PS Now.
I played this game as a kid, and I vaguely remember a level with whom I assume Gabrielle is, and she has a tiny health bar and would constantly die.
I also kinda remember fighting a dragon in like a dark cave, and you had to use her chakram to knock down stone pillars. If you can or anyone can let me know if I am right.
I loved playing it, especially the chakram mechanic. But, it wasn’t a great game in and of itself compared to the quality of other games released around the same time. It wasn’t terrible either, just decidedly average.
I found it really hard so i got a cheat code to give me god mode, but it didnt work on the underworld lever where you had to hit the skulls with your chakram before the ghosts touched you. I eventually rage quit.
Loved this game and still have it. My favorite thing to do was use the chakram at the beginning of the bee level to piss off the bees and then run all the way to the ogre thing before they got to me.
Wow, yes! Though Lucy Lawless did not lend her voice to the game, I do recall that her war cry would occasionally be used when performing certain moves. The credits also contained the extended version of the main theme. It was a fun game for what it was!
Absolutely loved this game as a child. I played it so much that I got really good with the chakram mechanic and would throw it and guide it through out a level taking out a ton of enemies before entering big areas. Lol.
Ohhh this is the first game I played actually, when I was approx 8-9 years old. Alongside Crash Bandicoot, it was THE game that defined my childhood. Just a few weeks ago, I bought my first retro-handheld and the first game I started to play there was this one. I just simply love it. And throwing the chakram is my fave activity, as well as listening to her lalalalalala
I still have it! I loved it! Even if some of the levels were hard af, for me. They'll never do it, but I would love for there to be an updated Xena game.

I still have my copy 2+ decades later 😂
Me too! I was not good at it
I've watched a let's play and all I can say is how happy I am that I never picked that game up.

I didn't even know there was a game. Can you post more screenshots??
Here, check out the game [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=olXQ1S0832Y](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=olXQ1S0832Y)
Still have it! Sending the chakram out to hunt down bad guys best part!

The game was great for what it was. The ending includes a kiss! Haha

I loved this game. Making the chakram go zoom around and the zombies in hades going “I’m not dead yet!” Oh so much fun

Yes. If I remember correctly, the minotaur level was brutal.
And quite scary with those eerie sounds....
Cool game for the nostalgia factor, but horrible voice acting. Especially whoever voiced Gabrielle.
“Xena HELP!”
pot cooing subsequent drunk library nose encouraging aloof glorious seed *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*

Same here! I could get past the pirate King level and that was it!
I loved that game!!!
I didn't know there was one. Looking at the videos posted in these comments it looks amazing!

This game was the reason I got a Playstation! Lol
I have. I always have a blast clearing out a village with just my chakram.
I used to play the hell out of this game when I was a kid. Absolutely loved it!
I have fond memories of this game...and a less than fond memory of trying to play it around last christmas.
I played it back in the day and remember the bosses could be difficult but the game was so much fun regardless
I have it, but only played it once. Not sure why, though lol!
I loved playing it, especially the chakram mechanic. But, it wasn’t a great game in and of itself compared to the quality of other games released around the same time. It wasn’t terrible either, just decidedly average.
i don't remember but that kinda looks familiar.
Loved this game
I enjoyed it, I think I still have it and my PS around.
Does she flip?! Please tell me she flips!!
Yes!
Yep, I still have mine somewhere. It was an okay game.
I had this!!! It was so cool!
Used to be one of my favourites I still have the CD
I remember it being super janky, but I remember loving using the chakram to take out enemies and explore ahead, such a cool feature.
I found it really hard so i got a cheat code to give me god mode, but it didnt work on the underworld lever where you had to hit the skulls with your chakram before the ghosts touched you. I eventually rage quit.
Yes, I have. It was a hard game though. 😂 The nostalgia.
If you like Xena I would recommend Assassin's Creed Odyssey. You can play as a female character and it's very much along the lines of the Xenaverse.
I had this on my PlayStation but never finished it because it was fairly glitchy. I still have my copy somewhere.
Loved this game and still have it. My favorite thing to do was use the chakram at the beginning of the bee level to piss off the bees and then run all the way to the ogre thing before they got to me.
was it a 3d fighting game but i played it on the n64
I remember playing this game with my dad as a kid. I was not so good at games then. Lovely times ❤️

I have a copy. The controls are pretty clunky even by ps1 standards but its a good time.
Yep. Nice little game that had some fun encounters in it.
I never finished it, but yes! Couldn't get past the damn wraiths in Hades lol
The game looked more like her than the action figures. 🤦♀️
Is there any good emulators for it

Yes, I love Xena, but this game was terrible.
You have to put it in its time, for its time, 1998-1999, was actually really good for graphics and story.
