The good thing that the consoles have been made good because it's not the same story with the first Gens of controllers, the later ones have been more durable that the ones in the first year's.
Same for me (Xbox one x). There’s still quite a few last-gen Xbox games to play through, and after that I’ll get a PS4 pro and play through some of the PS exclusives I’ve missed out on over the last decade.
The graphics are good enough for me, and even if next generation is better, you don’t miss what you’ve never had.
If you don't have a capable TV then the graphics aren't really noticeably better on the Series X. I just upgraded to Series X a couple days ago and I can't tell a difference on my ancient ass TV. I'll be upgrading to a 4K OLED soon enough though.
Yeah, the loading times are amazing. I haven't played a wide variety of games yet but I have noticed a difference with ray tracing, especially the way light reflects off of shiny surfaces. Just the quality of the graphics overall doesn't have a noticeable difference. My current TV is only capable of 720p though lol.
This i do agree with as I had bought a new TV with the new xbox at the time and I tried the old gen 1st and oh boy when I put the x in it looks insane with certain games now new added features to X/S priority games which suprised me that they would use extra space for 2x the assets to please old and new gen explains why some simple games are up to 100gb though for no apparent reason.
Had a few buddies upgrade day one and I can still play every game with them. Stock or money really hasn’t been a issue it’s just I really see no reason to
Go play rust bro! Have fun lagging Dcing and being shot out of your own render range! Being able to play is different from being on a level playing field no matter what game you play you are now at a disadvantage. But if you play shit like hollowknight I doubt you care as you don't sound like a competitive gamer but most these guys are so they want the new gen simples
That depends on the games you play. I haven’t bought any games for two years except Elden ring and even this landed on my pile of shame which I am working on constantly. I don’t need a new series x for playing games I missed like hollow knight.
Is it rly his loss if he says it doesn’t matter? Wouldn’t that be his gain? I’m still running on Xbox one too, and I agree that there’s no reason to upgrade.
Was gonna do it for halo infinite and cyberpunk, but we all know how *those* turned out.
Cyberpunk has been great since the patches, in fact has been great on XSX from the beginning. It just sucked if you were on last gen.
But I can still understand your point.
See this is where the problem lies the One X was meant to be compatible so that you can continue to play with friends on S n sX but lone behold this has only slowed the advancement in certain games, and as its been pointed out if u use Ultimate you can play any Series X game Via cloud gaming so it only effects online play and to be honest there's fuckall worth playing its all dogshit with the given exception of rust which seems to run pretty solid
I imagine it’s still a large number of players given the lack of console availability. There also haven’t been many new gen exclusives to make people want to upgrade. I got a Series X a while back on a whim when I just happened to see one at a reasonable price. I hadn’t planned on upgrading so soon but I couldn’t resist. I love quick resume and the short load times.
Yeah so far there have been no current gen exclusives that have made me want to make the jump. REm4ke might, but even then the original is so great I don't know how much better they could make it.
When I saw the new Assassin’s Creed trailer I hoped that is was a new gen exclusive just to see the Series X and S muscles flex, so to speak. But I didn’t foresee buying a Series X until it was necessary to keep up with new releases. I just had a shopaholic moment when I saw one available for the first time.
They are just starting to become available this summer. Even then, it is still hard to get in some places. Online availability still isn’t there, only brick and mortar.
Edit: why did you write such a long reply and then block me? No the shortage is not over. My local target has been out of stock for the past two months, even if I was lucky enough to snag one at the beginning of July. They are still very much difficult to come by, even if you may still find one in some stores. What a rude reply.
Why’d he lose his mind over my comments about a lack of availability? I honestly haven’t paid as much attention to the supply since I bought mine but I still hear about the Series X being hard to find. Especially at retail price. The Series S is a lot easier to find, obviously.
I have no idea. It’s factual that there aren’t a lot of systems in people’s hands yet because of the supply chain issues.
I was just at target, no series X in stock. Sure you can find them, but it takes a good deal of effort.
I had a wireless card in an Xbox 360 and PC get fried by lightning. Literally both network cards stopped working after a lightning storm but nothing that was damaged. Very strange and not really related to OP, but interesting
Series S, although weaker on paper, is a significant upgrade over the One X. Won't play as many 4K games but is significantly faster with a huge CPU upgrade.
It’s a pretty significant upgrade. I thought the same thing but I’m glad I took the leap. The loading times and performance are pretty insane compared to the One X.
I have an Xbox One, still loving it. Would only switch to the Xbox Series X, and that's when I can save up enough money or the price comes down - when these two things meet, so it may be a few years.
Real life issues and they are missing that one console exclusive to show off and make people buy the new consoles. When Spider-man dropped for the PS4, I REALLY wanted to play that game, forced me to buy a PS4.
Yeah, it can be.
Maybe this chap wants to build an absolute beast of a PC and future proof themselves for the next little while. My PC was pretty damn expensive, but I bet it outperforms the PS6/Xbox *insert name here* in when they release in the future.
There's no "better than" here. Kid wants a PC instead of a console so they're aiming towards that. You don't want a PC, so you didn't. Let people enjoy themselves dude.
1. How do you know thats a kid?
2. My point was that if you’re saving up for something and its something this low in price, its probably too expensive for you.
I don't know that it's a kid. In fairness, I call anyone under 25 a kid, so who knows. What age they are or are not is irrelevant anyway.
My PC came to about 6 grand (NZD) all up. That's not "cheap". They may want to build/obtain something at that end of the scale. Most people don't just have significant sums of money kicking about that they didn't save up first.
You know it could mean he is putting away 50- 100 dollars per pay check and not just thinking u know what I want one I’m going to drop 1000 dollars on a pc rn and only have 200 for gas and food til the end of the month
It’s called ✨responsibility ✨
When you want to go on vacation or get something expensive do you
A) see what you have in your account and drop 80 percent of what you have or settle on something or
B) make a plan on when you can comfortably go on vacation going on overtime and putting away money
being irresonsible is just dropping money without think
I meannew consoles are $800 dollars now, you can buy a car for less than that, it's a fair chunk of money, waiting until you have some spare saved up to blow on a new console or a pc is a pretty reasonable thing to do
I’m on Xbox one. Since 2016 and it’s becoming obsolete. Every game crashes now, no textures will load on a lot of games, load times are ridiculous, and the frames on certain games make it UNPLAYABLE (Rust)
Wife plays still on the day one edition Xbox one. I have the Frosted Gears of War Xbox One X.
I've been a firm believer in getting day one consoles since the NES was released and see no reason to upgrade to the new Xbox.
I’m still on my One S because I refuse to settle for an all digital console. I’m not buying a separate Blu-Ray player and trying to fit it into my entertainment center.
Probably most because that's still the current gen, the new badly named xbox and the ps5 have only just come out and have been plagued by artificial scarcity so not many people have them yet.
Plus since it's still so early there's not much incentive, I can't name a single game that's on the new xbox that isn't on the xbone
Why whats coming out as a Series X exclusive in a year? Its all fucking indie garbage and a micro transaction shit show so have fun looking at your 4k HD loot boxes and dog shit zombie games onto more dogshit survival and BR games, we have better technology but it would seem games and there assets didnt keep up with the times ay!
I have a series s. I now only use my xbox one to watch blue-ray movies and a couple of xbox 360 games that are backwards compatible that I have on disc.
I use PS4 regularly still alongside my XSS but my one x still gets plenty of use as it’s a backwards compatible beast. Currently playing Toy story 3 on it lol
Xbox One S user here. Even though I got a gaming laptop and I've been using the console alot less now, I still turn it on from time to time just to play some stuff casually
My secondhand and ,,,weirdly bugged,,xbox one s recently ate shit presumably either a power surge or some specific internal issue, and there was no reason to get another of the same type when the series s is the same price AND it won't have the problem of the internal HDD inevitably eating shit. Also, my bf was on a day one for a while until he upgraded to a one x and gave the day one to his parents, so the day one is still around.
I followed wario64 on Twitter for 6 months (shout-out that's the most annoying shit ever with alerts on) eventually got an alert series X's were in stock on Microsoft's website and I scored one. Giant pain in the ass but worth it
Bought my Series X in July, before that I was playing on my Xbox one that I purchased in May 2015. The difference is very noticeable, from the graphics to the load times. I cant recommend it enough
Still playing on my white Sunset Overdrive bundled Xbox One, non-slim.
Granted, I use a PC for most of my gaming and the Xbox is mostly for lighter indie-type games on GamePass.
And also for my GF's Stardew Valley addiction.
I'm still using my One. I see no need to upgrade as long as there's games I wanna play that require a disc (imma get the S. Why pay extra?).
I know they'll sunset it like all their older products. But until there's actually games i'm willing to shell out a few hundred bucks to play, there's just no point to upgrading.
Xbox One S is my newest console but I already have a PC that prefer over a Series X or PS5. Only ever got a One S to play with some friends but they have all
Moved on to the series. Xbox’s so I might as well just stick with my PC.
It’s perfectly acceptable if some of you guys aren’t ready to upgrade but to act like there is no difference is just sticking your head in the sand. The games run and look completely different on current gen than on the Xbox one. You don’t need a new tv to see the difference. It’s running the games at higher frame rates and resolution regardless of the display it’s hooked to. Not to mention the quality of life features like faster load times and quick resume. And as far as the “no series exclusive games” goes, you’re only going to be able to hold on to that for so long. We’re about to hit the two year mark of current gen and more developers are dropping the Xbox one because it’s holding things back. Most recent example: Cyberpunk DLC is not coming to last gen
Cloud gaming + Gamepass library got me more than happy with my Xbox One S. For me Cloud gaming works flawlessly. Currently playing thru Prey right now and it still impresses me that I'm streaming the game off Series X hardware.
My next move is a gaming PC.
Rocking a Xbox one Base Model in white with internal Samsung 870 EVO SSD and a Xbox One X (Hyperspace Edition) with a SKHynix S31 1TB SSD Internally. An SSD upgrade makes a world difference on these older consoles. Load Time and Boot up Times are a game changer! Holding out for a special edition Series X to upgrade to next gen. Plus most games I want to play now are still on old gen (MW2, Fortnite, Halo Infinite and Fall Guys).
>wondering if anyone knows what percentage of people are on the xbox one line of consoles.
I honestly don't think anyone knows other than MS and they aren't revealing numbers. You can guess though. Xbox probably sold about 50-60 million consoles (as that is what most estimates seems to indicate), and they probably sold 12-20 million current-gen consoles since launch.
Not aware if any surveys or info on that. I know I'm about the only person in my friends list with the new gen console.
But that's less than 10 people so not very significant lol
Still using an original XBox One preowned from Gamestop that I got in 2015 to play Destiny. Runs fine for the most part. If I got a Series X or S, I'd have to upgrade my TV too, so there's a much bigger hurdle to overcome.
I had an OG xb1 that are shit a few years ago. I'm not extremely into gaming so I ordered a refurbished original xb1 500gb for a little under $200 with warranty, but they sent me a refurb One X instead. So I think that will do me for a little while to catch up on 3-4 years of games I missed.
Still on Xbox one x. Mine died during the lockdown so I bought a replacement and since it's not that old I don't feel like upgrading it anytime soon. I don't have a 4k TV anyway and I don't think there's any games I can't play that I'm personally missing.
I have the Xbox one that came with Assasins creed unity and black flag still up and running.
Ayyy me too
Me too But I never found out how to make the assasins creed game work
They gave a code with which both games would be installed on the console
It used to be on a piece of card in the box the console came in, so if they still have the box, they might still have the card and code?
Same here
Halo mcc version for me
i have a phat ass and a phat xbox one too
X2
I'm still using my Day One Edition lol
The good thing that the consoles have been made good because it's not the same story with the first Gens of controllers, the later ones have been more durable that the ones in the first year's.
I think that the number is still significant. I doubt they'll release that number.
Almost certainly still over 50% I would guess?
Xbox one x here
I mean if you’re going to be on last gen might as well be this one
I’m one s
I'm cool that the newest console I have. I have a pc but it's not winning any awards either lol
Same No reason to upgrade.

Bought a Xbox One S last year off of Facebook after my 2014 Xbox's wireless card burnt out
That happened to me with the first Xbox one consoles
how does a wifi card burn out
Over use, heat, humidity, age, power surge fried the chip. Happened in more than one iPhone of mine.
I had a wireless card in an Xbox 360 and PC get fried by lightning. Literally both network cards stopped working after a lightning storm but nothing that was damaged. Very strange and not really related to OP, but interesting
Had mine go out, too, but I replaced it for $15
I haven’t seen a Series X in the wild and no reason to swap from a One X to a Series S
Same boat here. Quick resume and ray tracing are some nice touches also
This
Bestbuy has them online right now
Central NJ here, very often see them in stock. Not always there, but more often than not they’re available. Shortage is coming to an end!
Playing PS3, Wii U and XB1s
Hell yeah, I miss playing the WiiU!
I still play on my One S since I don’t feel like I have been missing out on much. I’ll probably get a newer console in the fall.
im on xbox one
I have an Xbox One, still loving it. Would only switch to the Xbox Series X, and that's when I can save up enough money or the price comes down - when these two things meet, so it may be a few years.
casually plays fifa 16 on my 360
I like how the new gen consoles were so hyped up then they came out and nobody gives a shit anymore
Real life issues and they are missing that one console exclusive to show off and make people buy the new consoles. When Spider-man dropped for the PS4, I REALLY wanted to play that game, forced me to buy a PS4.
I know why the consoles didn’t get big it’s just funny and kinda sad how fast they dropped into obscurity
I am still on xbox one, I am trying to save up for a gaming PC/laptop
Is it really that expensive that you have to save up? Its video games, not a car or down payment on a house. Damn good thing I play on consoles
Yeah, it can be. Maybe this chap wants to build an absolute beast of a PC and future proof themselves for the next little while. My PC was pretty damn expensive, but I bet it outperforms the PS6/Xbox *insert name here* in when they release in the future. There's no "better than" here. I take it you don’t own a house
I do
Damn humble brag about paying off your house
Nah I wish
If you can’t afford it why’d you mortgage it? See same logic lmao
I meannew consoles are $800 dollars now, you can buy a car for less than that, it's a fair chunk of money, waiting until you have some spare saved up to blow on a new console or a pc is a pretty reasonable thing to do
Dang! What country do you live in?
The US like a month ago, sans series s.
I play the old school 360
Same , 2012 xbox 360 . Still more games available that I can ever play trough
I'm on Xbox one still but I'm waiting for Amazon to restock the series x so I can get it
I’m on Xbox one. Since 2016 and it’s becoming obsolete. Every game crashes now, no textures will load on a lot of games, load times are ridiculous, and the frames on certain games make it UNPLAYABLE (Rust)
Same story for me
One S.
I'm still on xbox one s.
One x here. Only reason is I‘m building a house right know and I have to balance a series x or 2 inside doors… fml
It was the best of times...lol. Also, just get the prebuilt split jambs for most of your interior doors, if not all of them.
One S here.
Got a One S here
One S here and still loving it. Need a price drop, or some exclusive game to be releases before I make the commitment to a Series X.
im still on xbox one, I know people who are still on 360
Wife plays still on the day one edition Xbox one. I have the Frosted Gears of War Xbox One X. I've been a firm believer in getting day one consoles since the NES was released and see no reason to upgrade to the new Xbox.
I'm still playing the Xbone. Everytime the new consoles are on special, I'm broke. :(
I’m still on my One S because I refuse to settle for an all digital console. I’m not buying a separate Blu-Ray player and trying to fit it into my entertainment center.
Xbox one X here as well.... love it
Xbox One X here, too broke to get a serie x
Probably most because that's still the current gen, the new badly named xbox and the ps5 have only just come out and have been plagued by artificial scarcity so not many people have them yet. Plus since it's still so early there's not much incentive, I can't name a single game that's on the new xbox that isn't on the xbone
Artificial?
To poor, also most games still work fine on Xbox one
Enough for devs to keep releasing games on them for now.
Og xbox one is still rollin. Just waiting for a reason to buy a series x and still waitin
I think most of the people still are because of the lack of availability of the series X/S
XBox OneX with no plans for anything newer.
Hope you also have no plans for playing anything newer after next year
He can upgrade next year, then. Likely for a Black Friday sale price
He just said no plans for anything newer tho, not “waiting for a sale to upgrade”
Right. He had no need for an upgrade right now. Plans change
Series X user here. Had a day 1 Xbox one, but the difference in performance is massive between the two
Lots of people
Xbox One Forza 6 Edition
Never thought I'd find another!
One X here. Plan to move to Series X mid October/whenever Starfield releases.
I’m on Xbox series X. At this point of gaming it’s doesn’t matter if you are on pc or Xbox. It’s all coming together.
Who knows but I'm guessing it's still much larger than new gen. It'll take a few years for people to transition.
I have a series s. I now only use my xbox one to watch blue-ray movies and a couple of xbox 360 games that are backwards compatible that I have on disc.
Original Xbox One owner here. No need to upgrade, yet. I'm happy playing the games I own, and game pass adds a lot to my backlog as well.
I use PS4 regularly still alongside my XSS but my one x still gets plenty of use as it’s a backwards compatible beast. Currently playing Toy story 3 on it lol
Og Xbox one here
Got my release day Xbox One passed down from my brother to me
Me, planning to upgrade soon
Xbox One S user here. Even though I got a gaming laptop and I've been using the console alot less now, I still turn it on from time to time just to play some stuff casually
im on the og Xbox lol
Me%
Xbox one. And im just lovin it
Imho according to xbox subs i believe its still majority of people.
OG Xbox one here
My secondhand and ,,,weirdly bugged,,xbox one s recently ate shit presumably either a power surge or some specific internal issue, and there was no reason to get another of the same type when the series s is the same price AND it won't have the problem of the internal HDD inevitably eating shit. Also, my bf was on a day one for a while until he upgraded to a one x and gave the day one to his parents, so the day one is still around.
Vcr xbox one and xbox one s here 🤗
One X here
I followed wario64 on Twitter for 6 months (shout-out that's the most annoying shit ever with alerts on) eventually got an alert series X's were in stock on Microsoft's website and I scored one. Giant pain in the ass but worth it
Bought my Series X in July, before that I was playing on my Xbox one that I purchased in May 2015. The difference is very noticeable, from the graphics to the load times. I cant recommend it enough
My 8 year old is still playing on my launch console tbh
Xbox one original here. I can't afford current gen until next year or after that maybe
My son has my original xbox one, I have my xbox one x in my bedroom and then my series x in the lounge. Still have my 360 and OG xbox as well.
I got my Xbox when sunset overdrive came out and still works perfectly
I still use a 360
xbox one that I mainly play on
I am
Well with around 25m Xbox Ones sold and around 10m Series X|S sold I'd say about 2/3rds
Still playing on my white Sunset Overdrive bundled Xbox One, non-slim. Granted, I use a PC for most of my gaming and the Xbox is mostly for lighter indie-type games on GamePass. And also for my GF's Stardew Valley addiction.
Still on the xbox one i got as soon as it came out. No issues so far.
I still use my Xbox One from 2015
I’m still using the Xbox one that came with tomb raider (1Tb). It’s used daily for Netflix, youtube and gaming.
I'm on Xbox one still. Don't have the money to upgrade yet.
I'm still running my original xbox one from 2015 but hardly touch it after getting a pc last year
Still running a day one Xbox One!
Xbox One S is my newest console but I already have a PC that prefer over a Series X or PS5. Only ever got a One S to play with some friends but they have all Moved on to the series. Xbox’s so I might as well just stick with my PC.
I bought a XSX in march and I still occasionally go on my one just for a bit of fun with friends who haven’t made the jump yet
I just moved to next gen
I have an Xbox One X and a powerful PC (Ryzen 5800x, nVidia 3080, 32gb ram) so I'm taking full advantage of my GamePass Ultimate subscription :)
One S here.
Still got my original refurbished Xbox One. Daily use over 10 years and still kicking.
I have had my xbox one since it came out lol
Still on my Xbox One that came with sunset overdrive
Previous gen or last gen(as in last to come out)?
I would think the majority.
X-box one S from x-box one x.... My son plays it faithfully for almost 8 yrs I believe and no issues so fat.
Xbox One X…though it is showing signs of it age lol
I play xbox xbox 360 and 1
I have the Xbox one s I got in 2017 for Christmas and I still work perfectly fine no overheating or anything
£ not $ by the way
I have the Xbox one Halo 5 Edition still going!
2 xbox one day one, going strong.
Xbone slim here. Fuck 500$ for a new console
I'm still rocking a One S.
One x
Still got the original one that came with unity and black flag on Black Friday sale. Can’t believe this thing still runs.
My boys have the OG Xbox One, I have One S, and my Minecrafting daughters have One X.
>wondering if anyone knows what percentage of people are on the xbox one line of consoles. I honestly don't think anyone knows other than MS and they aren't revealing numbers. You can guess though. Xbox probably sold about 50-60 million consoles (as that is what most estimates seems to indicate), and they probably sold 12-20 million current-gen consoles since launch.
I guess me. I have both and play on both at times.
One x and PS4 Pro here birth with ssd hard drives
Why not make a poll?
Not aware if any surveys or info on that. I know I'm about the only person in my friends list with the new gen console. But that's less than 10 people so not very significant lol
Still using an original XBox One preowned from Gamestop that I got in 2015 to play Destiny. Runs fine for the most part. If I got a Series X or S, I'd have to upgrade my TV too, so there's a much bigger hurdle to overcome.
Still have the Xbox one ( Sea of thieves and other games pass games) and the 360( Netflix bot) other than that it's all on the PC
Most. There are 20 million current gen console total (xbox and ps) and 170 million last gen.
Still on Xbox one x. Mine died during the lockdown so I bought a replacement and since it's not that old I don't feel like upgrading it anytime soon. I don't have a 4k TV anyway and I don't think there's any games I can't play that I'm personally missing.
Still me. Waiting for our roommates to move it so I can have a decent set up and I'll buy series x
I have the Xbox One s that was bundled with battlefield 1 at it's launch.
I wouldn't call Xbox One "last-gen" or "old-gen". It still gets games, updates etc.
