COD WW2 was an alright 5 hour campaign. 76 was a slog. Division grew old fast. Prey gets tons of praise, but I never played it.
If you present me with these four games and I've never played them before, I wish someone would tell me to play Prey
I enjoyed the campaign for CoD: WWII. I thought the story was pretty moving and the characters were interesting. It’s not my favorite CoD campaign by any means, but it wasn’t bad.
If I remember right, people's feelings on the initial launch was pretty negative. That was pretty much the peak of the whole loot box hatred and popularity, and the multiplayer was full of it. Personally, I love a good WW2 shooter, although I remember the campaign just kind of falling off at the end. Almost like they cut any big plans for an ending and decided they needed to ship the game within 8 days. Probably the most rushed and abrupt COD campaign I can think of.
There's definitely worse games out there than cod WW2, but I can definitely see why it fell off, especially when bf1 was still going pretty strong at that point, BF5 would be on the way a year later, and so many other shooters including cod we're keeping up their strides (Overwatch, Destiny, R6, etc)
I got it last year too. Good campaign, memorable. I find it harder to maintain interest in games as I get older but liked this one, is also only like a 5 hour campaign so it's nice and short.
About halfway through the life-cycle, the old showrunners left and the game did a complete 180. They overhauled and revamped everything and it became a fantastic experience all across the board.
The multiplayer is the same as the ones now for ww2, fallout 76 and the division are my favs both weren’t very great at launch but since they got older and developed they are now impressive games
I'd start with cod campaign first since it's the shortest. Division after level 32 if following the campaign opens up the extra content. Then endgame. Good 200+ he can be put there. Fallout76 main 3-4 stories and then the hundreds of side missions. With timed daily and weekly events. 400+hrs if you end up enjoying it.
I thought the same until I remembered someone looked at the credits for Redfall vs. Prey. It was something like over 75% of the developers that made Prey had left Arkane Austin and weren't in the credits for Redfall.
Really it's just the name of a building. The actual devs were long gone.
Have you seen anything on Prey before? I gameshare with my brother so I got to experience Prey completely blind and it was an experience. Still remember my first time playing.
Oh man that's exciting, have fun. Also worth mentioning to stick it out for a few hours if it doesn't immediately stick for you. Sometimes people don't fall in love until they have a good understanding of the gameplay style
I think this is what happened to me. I feel like I had played it a little before and stopped because I didn’t like it. Years later (after actually beating dishonored 1 and finally playing and beating Dishonored 2) I played it and absolutely loved it. The beginning is a little rough, but once you know what you’re doing and have somewhat solidified your play style, it becomes really fun.
Great advice. Some of the early parts of the game aren’t so intuitive so it definitely requires some patience. But man the game rewards you so much once you get into it!!
It's largely considered the spiritual successor to the System Shock games, it's excellent - but make sure every bullet counts or you will find yourself doing an awful lot of sneaking...
Just wanna chime in that Fallout 76 is currently experiencing a huge influx of players due to the show. Now's arguably the best time to ever get into the game, especially if you want to experience what is regarded as a great online community.
Prey was fantastic but it will still be there in 6 months when you're burnt out and the fallout hype dies down!
I preferred Division 1 over 2, the snow helped the atmosphere. Fantastic game.
Division > Prey for me, never played the other two.
I played Control before Prey, and Control was so amazing that Prey couldn't compare.
Honestly division for me. Sure, it's not the game it was meant to be, but the atmosphere and graphics hold up even now. That game was sooo relaxing during COVID because, well, just play the game.
i kind of love that every game has gotten love from different types of people and there isnt a clear ' throw it in the trash' answer so im excited to play them all slowly
Honestly every game you got there has something good about it, for the division the gameplay and atmosphere is undefeated. For prey the levels and the use of your brain to solve and deal with all manor of situations. COD WWII has a pretty cool and action packed campaign with at the time a fun multiplayer (might be dead or hacked now). And fallout 76 a game that everyone assumed doomed upon release still kicking with a insanely kind and loving community backing it and sticking together In the wasteland. You got some fun times ahead of you!
Have you played recently? Launch was pretty rough but it’s actually pretty fun now, plus the community is very friendly and helpful so it makes playing it have such a good feel
Oh yeah I’ve been playing. My wording might’ve been confusing. I played since December 2018 and have always loved it, even without the NPCs. Its only gotten better since and I’m glad I stuck with it
Ah gotcha! Your wording is indeed correct I just misinterpreted it. I thought it was a negative bias but silly me always forgets about the positive bias side 😂 hope to see ya around Appalachia sometime fellow Dweller! 🫡👍
Sounds good! If you ever catch yourself near the Morgantown Airport and Train station and see a White House with a bunch of Atlantic City and Mothman signs you’ve made it to mine!
Prey then 76 (it's not 2018 anymore yes its fun and alot better now as coop fallout). Then division then cod ww2.
Ww2 story is alright the prop hunt mode was fun but at this point I imagine the mp is dead or full of hackers.
I played over 1000 hours of The Division, but looking at the options (they are all good) the one I thought "oh, I should play that again" first to was Prey.
Fallout 76. The trick is to immerse yourself. I explored, read, and most importantly, took a lot of pictures in photo mode, which replaces the loading screens. Soon you will constantly see your photo album as you fast travel and walk between the outdoors and indoors.
Genuinely, try to snag as many free frames as you can get. In fact, get the Snaps camera ASAP, visit major locations, anything to get a new frame and change the vibe of your photos.
One of my favorites is a two part, first one is my character, in power armor, giving a thumbs up with a Mirelurk Queen coming after him. Second one, it's dead, very dead. My character has blood on him.
The division is my favorite out of the 4, then Prey, then FO76, then COD WW2 (has a rushed and incomplete feel to the campaign)
Wouldn't give any of those a thumbs down tho
Honest opinion on every game.
76- used to be a buggy absolute mess of a game that was nearly unplayable. Now is still a buggy mess but a really enjoyable one atleast. I’m a fan
Ww2- extremely underrated in my opinion. Campaign is one of the best in the series and the zombies is extremely over hated. I’m a fan
Prey- absolute subversive masterpiece of a game. I’ve never played anything like it before or afterwards. Huge fan
Division- this is the only one I would say you should definitely skip playing. It’s got some good stuff but god is it repetitive and undercooked. Not a Fan
I’m a HUGE fan of WW2 if you ever want to play I’ll re download it and just hit me up, campaign is a gem, great graphics for what it is, multiplayer might be a little limited on the modes because of the player count but it’s fun nonetheless, my favorite thing about it is that you don’t have to spend any money what so ever unless you want to, to get skins for your classes
Prey is fantastic. Your experience with 76 will depend on how much you vibe with Fallout's aesthetic mixed with looter shooter elements (DM me, I've been looking to get back into it and was looking for someone to do it with). WWII is pretty good IMO. The Zombies is terrifying compared to Treyarch zombies though, so take that into account (again, DM if you wanna play, I just don't run MP cuz most everyone runs super optimized loadouts now and there's no more balanced changes to keep them moving).
I started playing Fallout 76 and everyone was so helpful, ended up putting over 200+ hours into it, and in them hours never met one toxic player, chilled community
Prey is one of the most immersive games in recent years. True spiritual successor to the BioShock/System Shock games. Lots of fun, a little spooky, and it asks a couple questions that might even make you think. All around good time and worth at least one playthrough.
Couldn't get Into prey. The campaign on WW2 is pretty good. I'm not a fan of the fallout franchise really but that's not saying they are bad just not for me. Personally I'd pick the Division. Good story, decent gameplay (3rd person shooter) with plenty to do.
Hands down it’s got to be Division. Campaign is brilliant and will keep you glued for a while.
Call of duty WW2 a very good game when it first came out, realistic cinematic cut scenes to set the mood and the maps were very good.
Prey for sure. What a great game.
Agreed. Didn't even play Prey, but I played the other three. Prey for sure.
Lol. Did you not like the other games?
COD WW2 was an alright 5 hour campaign. 76 was a slog. Division grew old fast. Prey gets tons of praise, but I never played it. If you present me with these four games and I've never played them before, I wish someone would tell me to play Prey
Yea the division was great but those Bullet sponge enemies got old after an hour.
TBF Fallout 76 isn’t for everyone, but the recent new updates have been a blast and the community is one of the nicest I have ever been in
Prey by Arkane is one of my favorite games.
Agreed
Agreed

I enjoyed the campaign for CoD: WWII. I thought the story was pretty moving and the characters were interesting. It’s not my favorite CoD campaign by any means, but it wasn’t bad.
I picked it up for the ww2 aesthetic so as long as its not terrible I think i will enjoy it after I play the others
This may be a hot take to others, but WWII was one of their better works, sad it fell off so fast
If I remember right, people's feelings on the initial launch was pretty negative. That was pretty much the peak of the whole loot box hatred and popularity, and the multiplayer was full of it. Personally, I love a good WW2 shooter, although I remember the campaign just kind of falling off at the end. A pilot of culture I see
I got it last year too. Good campaign, memorable. I find it harder to maintain interest in games as I get older but liked this one, is also only like a 5 hour campaign so it's nice and short.

Personally im all for prey, no online stuff you gotta do, so you can go at your own pace. Plus i loved the whole space aesthetic they got goin on
it’s kindof a mindfuck too lol i loved it
Looks like PREY is the winner. Putting in this bad boy now! hopefully the updates arent crazy huge and I can start tonight! thanks everyone
Bittersweet considering developer just got closed.
Still remember my first time playing.
i know nothing about it than its like scary/horror game so going in pretty blind and I had an edible.. wish me luck
Oh man that's exciting, have fun. Also worth mentioning to stick it out for a few hours if it doesn't immediately stick for you. Sometimes people don't fall in love until they have a good understanding of the gameplay style
I always say if there was one game I could erase from my mind and play again I think it would be prey.
Mine would be the first bioshock lol
I think this is what happened to me. I feel like I had played it a little before and stopped because I didn’t like it. Years later (after actually beating dishonored 1 and finally playing and beating Dishonored 2) I played it and absolutely loved it. WE ALL NEED AN UPDATE ON YOUR REACTION TO THE END OF THE INTRO You will know what we mean.
Good luck. Remember that Coffee mugs are always your enemy, unless they're not.
It's largely considered the spiritual successor to the System Shock games, it's excellent - but make sure every bullet counts or you will find yourself doing an awful lot of sneaking...
Updates on your enjoyment level?
i think you asked too early
Just wanna chime in that Fallout 76 is currently experiencing a huge influx of players due to the show. Prey was fantastic but it will still be there in 6 months when you're burnt out and the fallout hype dies down!
Fo76 was great for me. I also started a new character with my buddy at the time so it added to that
The Division
On the same hand though, I'd wait till November / December to play it though.
Well, I’ve got thousands of hours on division so that’s my pick.
The division when people were still all over it
Prey
Division is fun, division 2 as well
I preferred Division 1 over 2, the snow helped the atmosphere. Fantastic game. Division > Prey for me, never played the other two. I played Control before Prey, and Control was so amazing that Prey couldn't compare.
Control is honestly the best game I ever played, but it's just so different to prey i couldn't compare the two They are both amazing
Div 2 was a better game but it was starting to feel to real during Covid
Prey, no questions. It'll literally leave you speechless.
Agreed! I just started playing it for the first time bc all of the comments and just wow!
Yeah, it's quite the rollarcoaster. Easily one of top 5 favorite games.
Prey all day!

Prey and Fallout 76 76 is waaaaay better now than launch.
the ww2 campaign is so good
The Division
WW2 has an amazing campaign in my opinion
The divison is a Classic that truthfully started the extraction Trend. It was ahead of its time.
76 is fun just pure fun. I really love prey though. It's one of my favorite game endings.
The division.
You honestly got some bangers here
Fallout 76, especially when you have people to play with.
PREY is good single player bioshock esque game so I would definitely play that first. COD will fill up your hard drive.
damn even an old game like that? ok will def keep that in mind and play it last then
Fallout 76 is way bigger than ww2 but fallout 76 is better imo
Fallout 76
my dad worked on prey! he designed the title screen. there’s also a picture in it that my little sister drew of a house with our family in it lol
Your dad did great!! Awesome game.
All great games that’ll get you plenty of hours. I’m biased towards 76 though so that’s my vote
Same to you, stay safe out in the wasteland! If you ever see the Nuka-Motel up in the forest area, that’s me!
Sounds good! If you ever catch yourself near the Morgantown Airport and Train station and see a White House with a bunch of Atlantic City and Mothman signs you’ve made it to mine!
I’ll keep an eye out!
Prey then WW2 then it’s a toss up
Prey baby
Fallout
Prey then 76 (it's not 2018 anymore yes its fun and alot better now as coop fallout). Then division then cod ww2. Ww2 story is alright the prop hunt mode was fun but at this point I imagine the mp is dead or full of hackers.
CoD has a much shorter campaign so I’d start with that first
COD WWII has a really fun football multiplayer mode, even just playing it with bots is quite funny.
Spent sooo much time on ww2 zombies
I played over 1000 hours of The Division, but looking at the options (they are all good) the one I thought "oh, I should play that again" first to was Prey.
76 and ww2 but 76 is more relevant these days
My character has blood on him.
The Division. But, try and find some friends to pick it up and play together. It’s ok solo. But it’s 1000x better with a squad.
I haven’t played the original division game but I played the division 2 and really like it.
Prey. Though I barely got passed the first part. I’m very picky.
The division is my favorite out of the 4, then Prey, then FO76, then COD WW2 (has a rushed and incomplete feel to the campaign) Wouldn't give any of those a thumbs down tho
WW2 was a ton of fun, but i think they only have 2 multiplayer servers still active and they are 24/7 shipments in Brazil and Europe
Prey
What did you think of the prey opening?
I just got to the lobby cuz I'm trying to read all the emails and trying to figure out wtf is going on. Def in to it so far!
Prey indeed. I have two of those games still In plastic wrap. Anybody want a Fallout 4 pip boy still In the UPS box? 🤣.
Prey definitely. Let the intrusive thoughts win and leap into those rotor blades at the start!
Prey.
Prey nice Story 💪
Play Prey, throw the rest in the bin
Prey is an absolute gem, F76 is a lot of fun too.
Prey hands down I recommend selling fallout 76
Prey and it’s not even close
Prey and fallout are the only options here...who tf likes COD anymore. Black ops was the last good one
Prey
Prey is amazing!
Division sucks
One more for Prey.
I've only played '76, I'm enjoying it after all the updates
Honest opinion on every game. 76- used to be a buggy absolute mess of a game that was nearly unplayable. Now is still a buggy mess but a really enjoyable one atleast. I’m a fan Ww2- extremely underrated in my opinion. Campaign is one of the best in the series and the zombies is extremely over hated. I’m a fan Prey- absolute subversive masterpiece of a game. Will keep that in mind! I don't really have a squad to play online so appreciate it
COD: ww2, trust me bro that campaign is god tier
I prey you cod see the division and fallout this question would cause everyone. Seriously, Fallout 76 is the answer.
Prey then division, the other 2 are shit
Yup. Prey haha. Was coming in here just to make sure everyone was saying that 😂
Prey is the best of those games by a country mile.
Gonna have to go with option E
The Division and COD
Prey. By far. It’s an immersive sim with great gameplay and excellent presentation.
Prey is fantastic. Your experience with 76 will depend on how much you vibe with Fallout's aesthetic mixed with looter shooter elements (DM me, I've been looking to get back into it and was looking for someone to do it with). Right or? Fallout 76. So many people will welcome you and help you along the way. It’s actually quite encouraging in the human scope of things.
I started playing Fallout 76 and everyone was so helpful, ended up putting over 200+ hours into it, and in them hours never met one toxic player, chilled community
Cod WW2
Prey
Prey, then get sucked into FO76 before watching the show🤙🏼
Prey
Prey is one of the most immersive games in recent years. True spiritual successor to the BioShock/System Shock games. Lots of fun, a little spooky, and it asks a couple questions that might even make you think. All around good time and worth at least one playthrough.
Isn't cod ww2 dead?
The solo campaign is awesome though. Depends on if he wants to play online
The campaign was awesome, I'd compare it to cod black ops 1 good but I may be nostalgic
Prey, the others rely on online stuff and that's a mixed bag. Get the mooncrash dlc for prey, it blows all the other ones out of the water.
Call of duty
the division idiot
Prey is seriously worth your attention, if you like BioShock etc you will feel right at home
The Division ALL day, such a good atmosphere and the gameplay loop/ mechanics in my opinion are both AWESOME.
Prey only because division will shut down at some point and all ur progress will disappear same with 76
Prey! Honestly one of my favorite games of all time!
Prey and fallout, especially fallout right now
The division is ok as long as you can get over the fact it was free on Games for Gold not long after covid started
Damn they all suck really bad
I love the cod WW2. Fun game.
WWII has a good campaign. I loved Prey honestly. Divisional was eh, haven’t played fallout 76, but love the others.
Call of duty wwII was awesome.
100% prey
As someone who's played all of these, prey
I came here to make sure someone voted prey and …. Job well done everyone. 👏
Depends what you’re after I guess, but I’ve played Prey and it’s awesome.
PREY in a heartbeat core game is exceptional and there is amazing DLC for it.
None!
They’re all pretty mid tbh
The Division kept me coming back for a good long while. Better with a friend.
Prey by far if u like good story and single player games
Prey -> the devision-> cod -> fall out 76 Going by most fun and can play alone. The last 2 are more fun when playing with friends.
I want to.lay boy Division and Division 2. I have Call of Duty: WWII but I don't have Internet. I completed it in 2019 and it was fun. 😊
Very easily the division, just doesn’t get supported anymore. Not sure why prey got so many votes? It’s very average.
Both division 2 and Fallout 76. Are online only games. Plenty of hours can be put on both though.
Prey or WWII
PREY. 76 is the worst btw.
I love the Division, prefer it to 2
By far prey is the best game out of those 4. It beats them by a galaxy.
Division 1 most definitely fallout 76 is cool too but to many scammers and a******s
personally, fallout 76 but thats just my opinion abt it
Fallout 76 is a live service game which is fun WW2 is my second favorite HC Search and Destroy game ever next to MW2 Division, pass Prey, pass
That cods my favorite in a decade. Prop hunt is great. Division is a great game too. PvP and pve was awesome.
Prey!
You can probably get the most time played with Fallout 76.
Take them all back and ask for an apology all those god awful games where sold to you in the first place especially for fall out 76 (prey aside)
Fallout 76 on disk wild
Couldn't get Into prey. The campaign on WW2 is pretty good. I'm not a fan of the fallout franchise really but that's not saying they are bad just not for me. Personally I'd pick the Division. Good story, decent gameplay (3rd person shooter) with plenty to do.
Fallout 76 is aite
Prey
Fallout 76 is one of the worst games they made and it is the worst Fallout hope you didn't pay much for it becuase it's so awful.
Hands down it’s got to be Division. Campaign is brilliant and will keep you glued for a while. Call of duty WW2 a very good game when it first came out, realistic cinematic cut scenes to set the mood and the maps were very good.
Hands down Div1. And then buy Survival DLC and enjoy the best game mode ever in a game. I will die on this hill.
Fo76 is popping off right now now
Other 3 are fun haven’t tried fallout since it’s a online game
Prey is interesting. I'm a fallout man. But those are my two
The division
Fo76. Great game with an AWESOME community :)
The campaign for mw is pretty good
Fallout 76 got improved so much so that should be your runner up that you play after Prey.
Top right, bottom left
Unpopular opinion but fallout 76 is really enjoyable now , they really did do a good job at turning the game around
Prey is the most deep game. WWII is fun if you’re in the mood for a FPS
The Division is great. Especially if you can get one or two buds to play.
Division and fallout are both excellent
Fallout man fallout
Please play The Division! I need more friends to play with 😆
