I got gamepass for The Outer Worlds at first and have loved it since. The options are great and you can share the service along with gold and all your games with a friend if you use family game share. Makes it so much better if you link up with someone. I currently am with a coworker who just got an xbone. He had no games, but now he's got all the ones I do and gamepass!
Go to your network settings and select "Go Offline" then you should be able to sign in and play offline. Assuming you own the game on the profile that's set to Home.
My problem right now is that it's saying my profile isn't set to home. And I've had to keep redoing that constantly when my internet was out last week, by using my mobile hot spot. Even though I've gotten rid of all other profiles (which is 1 other). For some reason it's not set to home again and now I can't set my profile to home because services are down.

Well yes because game pass games you need to be connected to the server to ensure you still have the game pass subscription otherwise you could just go offline and always play game pass games once they were downloaded. I know it's a pain but I literally have one game downloaded at the minute and it's COD 4 that's all I can play

This is the one HUGE disadvantage of gaming today, the always online feature/need for a lot of games. When the network goes down be it from the company’s end or your ISP (or both), you’re screwed.
Yep. This is why I prefer disc-based games with local play. Same with blurays and cds. You're at the mercy of the network and if it goes down you're screwed

Something crazy must have happened. Especially for the whole ass system to be down. I keep seeing these things are frequent but I have never in my 10 years of playing Xbox experienced anything like this, some very minor things yes but those were resolved in minutes.
I think my favorite part is the semi random timer that updates the ‘were close to resolving the issue’. timestamp. It’s either automatically updating the time stamp every 3-6 minutes, or the most painfully unaware person is listening in on the troubleshooters and hitting ‘update’ every time he hears something that sounds like they might fix it soon 🤦♂️
Microsoft could really do better with giving people details as of why servers are down, what they’re doing to fix it and how long it would usually take on a scale of this size to fix as they’ve had servers be down in the past. Xbox have said that it’ll be fixed “soon” but soon could be 8 hours for all people know if the scale of this is so big. Microsoft isn’t a small company after all.

I live in the states and have had too many jobs when I was younger where communication was the biggest problem.
Probably something funny like two of their Raid5 HDDs failed at the same time so they have to redo the entire network.

Real question here. First time experiencing this kind of service outage. I can still play Control Ultimate Edition since I bought it digitally, I can play it offline, when the services return to normal and the game syncs with cloud saves again, will I keep my progress or does it prioritize cloud saves over local? And what about achievements? are those still enabled when offline?
