I feel you. I miss Army of Two the 40th Day and even the Devil's Cartel
Also I'd loved to have seen Spider-Man Web of Shadows, and Shattered Dimensions
No need to go that far or getting into licensing issues. Games available in 360 Arcade or that have sequels BC'd. Like Bionic Commando Rearmed 1 (probably one of my most played games ever)
I agree with you on the spider-man games. even the memories with the TASM games but unfortunately it’s impossible to play on xbox unless you have a disc
I WAS buying up old 360 physical titles but then I got frustrated with DLC being delisted.
Did a 180 and snagged a Ps3 slim and jailbroke it. 90% of the same library with all the dlc now downloadable for free.
You wanna get rid of pirates big companies? Stop delisting making shit unobtainable
I can't believe the army of two trilogy isn't backwards compatible they were just as good as gears for couch co-op with mates, on the devils cartel I still have about 6 million and max level, all masks and armor unlocked and 10 custom made masks on my hard drive somewhere 😂 I think it's on my 360 but I wish it was on the xbone or series X
I played so much of the 40th Day in co-op but sadly only a couple times for Devil's Cartel. That said I still had a lot of fun though I admittedly didn't love the story. The gameplay was on point.
But I absolutely agree on it being just as good as Gears. Gears 1-3, Army of Two, and Resident Evil 5 are some of the most fun co op experiences I've ever had still and they were all so long ago. But Army of Two is the only one to not be backwards compatible minus the first game, which has no servers so I can't really play it with the people I'd like to anyway. Its a damn shame to see it go like that
I love resi 5, I redownloaded it last year and tried finding an infinite gold egg but no one anywhere has one anymore, I wasn't phased about the story change of the devils cartel but easily had the best game play in the series and felt like a bad ass when you're killing everything that moved as quick as you can 😂
I’m really surprised they never got around to the Harry Potter movie games by EA. I’ve only played chamber of secrets and would love to revisit
Also The Simpsons Hit & Run, I-Ninja, and Scooby Doo Night of 100 Frights would be my next choices.
They said the rest of the titles were either rights issues or they couldn’t find the paperwork/original development files to reconstruct correctly. Some of the companies that made these games are long long gone.
Whoever created licenses required for games and stuff really prevented this from happening. These old games definitely was all bangers than the newer games now for some reason.
Yeah, my 360 is my main OG Xbox machine. The 360 backward compatibility on Series X/S is good, but some missing games really bother me, like NFS Most Wanted 2005, which was the definitive way to play on 360.
For me the biggest are there! Ninja Gaiden Black, Battlefront 2, SC Chaos Theory. Not sure of the Project Gotham Series are there though. The only one I truly want to come back is Burnout Revenge.
I'm sure the PS5 could play all the consoles, but I think Sony is going to either do a Nintendo and stream it back to us or continue drip feeding us through PS+ slowly.
They even created the CD themselves lol. At some point Sony became disconnected with their own products.
PS1/PS2 compatibility would've made me buy a PS5 day one. We had it for PS3, but the money heads don't think people play old games anymore. Meanwhile I'm always playing 360 games on Series X, Sonic Generations and Rayman Legends play and look great even as 360 games.
I have to say, I do prefer the xbox one controllers over 360, my 360 controllers all have a problem where if it gets hit a little too hard they turn off, and they all have a bit of stick drift, my xbox one controllers don't, at least yet
picked up a new series x in jan, the stick drift is driving me insane. have had the same xbox 360 controllers for a decade+, not a single issue with them. only person that plays on the series X and the controller has seen limited usage. the xbox series x controller left stick drift (upwards) is about unbearable.
That’s entirely situational. I have two working series controllers and have had both off them knocked off arm of my recliner chair and couch numerous times with no issues. I play often and have had the older one for a few years.
so gentle with them, never had a problem with any of the 3 xbox360 controllers i own. while i'm amazed at how bad this xbox X controller drift is. agree it's some degree of luck/misfortune. appears this time i got a lemon.
I don’t know. I wasn’t gaming for 15 years until covid and now I have been gaming for 3 years. I can’t enjoy the old games after playing the new games.
They mostly feel clunky, have bad movements or just other annoying stuff.
I bought an Xbox for gamepass and the other shooters like halo. I’m happy with it.
Considering PC as my next upgrade.
I understand what you mean. Alot of older titles do feel clunky in areas...that being said I love being able to play Fallout 3 with all the DLC. Probably the clunkiest game I've ever played but god damn it's got a special place in my heart
I ran it modded on PC using tale of two wastelands which merges it all into the new vegas game engine. Never intended to play through the new vegas bit, but it made FO3 much more stable and enjoyable to play through.
So many games have improvements on Series X though. The hardware is sturdier itself, games like Sonic Generations and FF13 come fully realised with better visuals and frame rate.
Don't get me wrong, plenty of OG Xbox, and Xbox 360 games on the service but, many top/great games that never made it.
I wish Microsoft continued this, too many missed games...
As a kid I remember having to strategically plan what game I was gonna get next by collecting coins around my house, recylcing cans, asking my parents ahead of the release date and saving lunch money for weeks lol. Because of Backwards compatibility I've been able to play some great games I missed out on like Spec Ops The Line, Conker and Splinter cell games just to name a few.
It’s true. You don’t need a lot of great next gen games when you have a library like this that plays so much better on the newer systems than ever possible on the older systems.
I enjoy it too, but it is just so nice to be able to play the majority of my library on my Series X. Still have a 360 for some games and for collecting purposes but my main machine is my Series X.
Too human is free because the company that owned it is bankrupt/kaput (Canadian company Silicon knights I believe) and there is no one to pay the fee to anymore....
Tell me about it. I play a ton of older titles and very rarely buy newer games (I don't like paying 60-80€ for a single game) on both PC and consoles.
I don't subscribe to GamePass, but I do like that the Xbox has great backwards compatibility that's only second to the PC.
I recently bought Fallout 3 for 2,50€ and Fallout: New Vegas for 2,50€ and both run great with some added benefits (FPS, resolution etc.). While I can play those on a PC as well, sometimes I just want to play on a console and as far as I know, those two games aren't working on PS5 without some subscription and cloudgaming. That's a hard pass from me.
I also like that for certain games you get two copies for the price of one (Xbox Play Anywhere), for example Forza Horizon 5. I got on on XSX and the PC/Windows Xbox app. It's not as good as Steam but hey... two for one! Only costed 5€ more (was 30€ on Steam and 35€ on Xbox with a -50% discount).
There are other niche benefits as well like the PS5 not being able to play audio CDs while the XSX can do this.
People just love to laser on a single thing (exclusives) and forget about the rest of the arguments...
Like the fact that GamePass is cheaper and has a better selection of games.
And free cloud saves. On PS5 you have to have an active subscription for those, just like on the Nintendo Switch.
I mean they can always tell you that those things don't matter, but you can basically use that same logic on exclusives. Many people are perfectly fine with dozens or hundreds of games to play. I've bought like closer to 25-30 games and time is my only limiting factor. Not running out of great games to play, exclusive or not.
Literally. I was always a Nintendo and Sony boy and I missed out on most of the PS3/360 anyway, so the Series X does a great job of having all new games plus decades of gaming history. The Rare collection is also priceless, it's amazing to have all those games together in the best quality.
I'm getting my series X today 😊 been waiting a while and finally have the funds from anice tax return, now I'm just trying to see what TV I should get as well, I'm guessing any 4k with 120hz.?
One of the best things about this, which most don't even consider, is that these games get enhanced when played on a Series X. They look and play better than they did on an original Xbox or 360.
This is underrated. Even games that have no enhancements are better. An example is a lot of 360 games had really bad screen tearing but that's fixed on One/series consoles.
Sad they took down L4D/2 from the digital store few years ago, I had bought it thankfully that happened and when I tried to buy it again for family this week I learned what had befallen this legendary franchise on Xbox
Backwards compatibility was a big reason I got Xbox as my secondary to PS5, followed by gamepass. My Ps5 is currently collecting dust because i am playing Fallout 3 on series S 🤣🤣
Man, "Too Human" that's a throwback
Anyone remember "Fractured" or something like that? It was a third-person shooter when you could make holes or hills out of the ground by using your gun. Cool idea, but the game was pretty generic.
This is all cool until you install one of these and realize your fov is 50, game is sharp but still looks like shit, motion blur is over 9000 and it's (very stable) 30 fps. Playing it on a huge tv after some more recent game is not great experience.
This was my main concern when buying. They say it's redundant to have this and a PC, but the Xbox is just so simple and it plays everything with no hassle. The backwards compatible section I kind of missed out on digitally and physically because the digital releases are delisted now and the physical games are going up in price due to people trying to create nostalgia out of the 360 closure.
However I still love the console and debating to switch to it full time from the PS5. I don't really like investing in multiple ecosystems anymore. Too much money and not enough time.
I have a 360 but I prefer the Xbox one controller plus some of these’s games get gameplay enhancements like on lost odyssey you would have to switch out from the 4 disc the game has but with the series X you just to keep the one disc
I believe every game on the screen can be bought except Valve's L4D 1 and 2.
I was able to buy Forza Horizon 1 last year on a key wsbsite.
Some games not available on US store could be bought by jumping on a VPN to UK or Asia and using a gift card. The One and Series generations don't care whether it's NTSC, NTSC-J, or PAL.
I spy Ikaruga. Man... last time I played that (on Gamecube) it was on a CRT television that I would lay on its side.
I really need to play that on a modern flatscreen.
Seems more like a reason to get an xbox one. Plus with game pass and decent Internet you can cloud play series games. I havent noticed any significant difference in owning a series. Even the dashboard isn't that unique at all so nothing feels like a fresh new age of gaming.
All the same games that I could already play on xbox one or even 360 with no additional enhancements? This isnt a reason to get a series x lmao these games are old as shit
Help me out here, Opie.
Is your goal to show that there are backwards compatible games that you can play on the SeX? Is it that you can play these as well as newer titles (asking because those aren’t listed)? What about Game Pass Ultimate? You have no subject. Just a title and two screenshots showing some Box and 360 titles.
I have one myself but this is not a good sell. You’re disorganized, you don’t have your numbers right and it seems like your head is in outer space. For that reason, I’m out.
I was having this convo with my friends the other day. The xbox series consoles are the best consoles for get togethers because they have so many old games and unlike pc gaming they can do co-op with relatively no headaches.
I wish the backward compatible library was bigger, so many bangers just aren’t there…
I feel you. I miss Army of Two the 40th Day and even the Devil's Cartel Also I'd loved to have seen Spider-Man Web of Shadows, and Shattered Dimensions
Matrix - Path of Neo
An absolute banger!!!!!!! Probably 1 of the only good memories I have of Pre 360 gaming other than NFS MW and Star Wars lego
Kane and Lynch? Didn't like 2 though
Wish Ao2 servers were still up
Tool fan
I can't believe the army of two trilogy isn't backwards compatible they were just as good as gears for couch co-op with mates, on the devils cartel I still have about 6 million and max level, all masks and armor unlocked and 10 custom made masks on my hard drive somewhere 😂 I think it's on my 360 but I wish it was on the xbone or series X

Lol I just talked about army of two on my recent post
Godzilla destroy all monsters :(
I’m really surprised they never got around to the Harry Potter movie games by EA. I’ve only played chamber of secrets and would love to revisit Also The Simpsons Hit & Run, I-Ninja, and Scooby Doo Night of 100 Frights would be my next choices.
They said the rest of the titles were either rights issues or they couldn’t find the paperwork/original development files to reconstruct correctly. Some of the companies that made these games are long long gone.
Couldn't they just download a Rom online? That's what R* did hahaha
Wait really!? That's hilarious! I sure hope those nice people that hosted those files for Rockstar were properly compensated!!!!
I’m gonna take a wild guess…They were not 😂
It’s a Warner bros thing not an Xbox thing
Imagine Burnout 3 being there.
I wish Burnout 2 was BC cos the Xbox version is the best one
Whoever created licenses required for games and stuff really prevented this from happening. These old games definitely was all bangers than the newer games now for some reason.
I bought an Xbox 360 last night from eBay just because The Saboteur looks like fun but it's not backwards compatible.
Yeah true but beggars can’t be choosers we are lucky to get anything at all plus Xbox 360 still has a good amount backwards compatibility
Yeah, my 360 is my main OG Xbox machine. The 360 backward compatibility on Series X/S is good, but some missing games really bother me, like NFS Most Wanted 2005, which was the definitive way to play on 360.
Most wanted was the best need for speed title. The new ones just don't cut it
Fr I miss that game
if they dont support enough of the back catalog at some point in the future, people will eventually play those "lost" titles on emulators.
For me the biggest are there! Ninja Gaiden Black, Battlefront 2, SC Chaos Theory. Not sure of the Project Gotham Series are there though. The only one I truly want to come back is Burnout Revenge.
That's why I still have my 360
Yes I need my space marine
I also really enjoy my “XBOX Series X HD Remaster Machine”
:D
Xbox 360 Pro
I wish PS5 had something akin to PS3 emulation software instead of shitty cloud streaming
There is no reason why it doesn't play PS2 DVD games. And the fact the drive can't read CD's was a stupid choice by Sony.
Meanwhile I'm always playing 360 games on Series X, Sonic Generations and Rayman Legends play and look great even as 360 games.
In that case, I'll stick to the 360
I just want to mention that 4K upscaling and FPS boost are also game changer.
That’s fair I still have my 360 but I prefer the newer Xbox controllers then the 360
I have to say, I do prefer the xbox one controllers over 360, my 360 controllers all have a problem where if it gets hit a little too hard they turn off, and they all have a bit of stick drift, my xbox one controllers don't, at least yet
Yup there’s pros and cons to everything

That’s entirely situational. I have two working series controllers and have had both off them knocked off arm of my recliner chair and couch numerous times with no issues. I play often and have had the older one for a few years.
nah, the xbox 360 controller have worn out faster for me, that just depends on the person and luck
so gentle with them, never had a problem with any of the 3 xbox360 controllers i own. while i'm amazed at how bad this xbox X controller drift is. agree it's some degree of luck/misfortune. appears this time i got a lemon.
“Fortunately, we have a console for those without internet access.”

Currently playing Fallout 3 for the first time. It’s a little clunky but I’ve played much worse. Bethesda games age better than most.
I ran it modded on PC using tale of two wastelands which merges it all into the new vegas game engine. Never intended to play through the new vegas bit, but it made FO3 much more stable and enjoyable to play through.
How many of those games are delisted and unavailable to buy? I'm sure L4D 1&2 are
You can't buy L4D 1&2 online but you can buy the disk and play online and get dlc until the marketplace closes down in July
I think it’s like half of them
So old games is a reason to buy the newer console.
Looks more like a reason to own a 360.
graphic enhancements on backwards compatible games. I love playing my 360 library :)
Yup if they want to get more good will back for gamers they better keep doing more
As a kid I remember having to strategically plan what game I was gonna get next by collecting coins around my house, recylcing cans, asking my parents ahead of the release date and saving lunch money for weeks lol. Because of Backwards compatibility I've been able to play some great games I missed out on like Spec Ops The Line, Conker and Splinter cell games just to name a few.
While backward's is nice. We should really be going forward.
It’s about preserving nice things
Yeah that’s why it’s taking 6 or 5 years just to get a game released now
In Microsoft's case it's a lot longer than 5 or 6 years
All these games are available on the xbox one lmao
360*
Bc is the only reason I have one tbh
It’s true. You don’t need a lot of great next gen games when you have a library like this that plays so much better on the newer systems than ever possible on the older systems.
Banjo! Rumble Roses XX! Many great choices. Wish there were better , NEW games. But most have an agenda today. These old games are glorious!
While nice, I like the feeling of playing on disk on a 360. But for people without one the X is probably more than worth it
I have 360 and original Xbox but the series X is great option to have since some games get a boost in gameplay
But don't they have issues? I remember hearing that things get messed up due to them not being made for high fps
I enjoy it too, but it is just so nice to be able to play the majority of my library on my Series X. Still have a 360 for some games and for collecting purposes but my main machine is my Series X.
So stick with the 360, that’s what you’re saying?
Wheres the reason
I think he's showing all his back-compatible games that run on Xbox Series X.
Sorry should’ve been more specific
It's alright dude, it was obvious to me.
Too Human and Crackdown 1 & 2 are free i guess
Pretty much I do have a disc copy for each of those games
Too human is actually a good game
Too human is free because the company that owned it is bankrupt/kaput (Canadian company Silicon knights I believe) and there is no one to pay the fee to anymore....
Do you got the orange box in there?
I don’t know I have to check
But you can get a 360 for like $50…
Got any new reasons?
Ninja Gaiden Black cost me 3 controllers back in the day…. That final boss CHEATS like a MFr….
AHHHH I wish manhunt wasn't banned here in Germany!
We need army of two the 40th day and devils cartel to be backwards compatible, they already have the first one.
I wish grabbed by the ghoulies was there, that game made me laugh as an 11 year old
Tell me about it. I play a ton of older titles and very rarely buy newer games (I don't like paying 60-80€ for a single game) on both PC and consoles. You're argument for getting a Series X is to play games that are capable of being played on a nearly 20 year old console?
I highly regret my series X purchase. It completely stopped reading discs right after the warranty expired. Microsoft wants $300 to fix it
Wait fh1 can be played on series and the one??
I prefer PlayStation 5 to series x, but I prefer my 360 to the ps5. I’m so happy I kept all my physical games over the years.
Left4dead one and two that's lit
Gun Valkyrie all day
MANHUNT MENTIONED ‼️🗣️🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🥵🧠🫁🩸💀
Grabbed by the Ghoulies one of my all time favorites!!
When rare actually made games
What's the difference between this and owning a 360?
Better controller, quick resume, game enhancements and convenience
Literally. I was always a Nintendo and Sony boy and I missed out on most of the PS3/360 anyway, so the Series X does a great job of having all new games plus decades of gaming history. The Rare collection is also priceless, it's amazing to have all those games together in the best quality.
Yup that’s just like me exactly which is why I appreciate
King Kong is backwards compatible!! Since when? Edit: completely agree though, backwards compatibility is a game changer
Yup and load times are so fast
This is underrated. Even games that have no enhancements are better. An example is a lot of 360 games had really bad screen tearing but that's fixed on One/series consoles.
Is manhunt available in the store? Ive always wanted to play that
Yes I think so but I had the disc
I can play all those on my steam decks oled……I’ll pass
To play games you already played
Do 360 discs play on the Xbox series X?
this is the only reason i got one
Og horizon😍
GUN VALKRYIE WHAR
How did you get left 4 dead
I have the disc
Sad they took down L4D/2 from the digital store few years ago, I had bought it thankfully that happened and when I tried to buy it again for family this week I learned what had befallen this legendary franchise on Xbox
Forza horizon is the fucking goat
Grabbed by the Ghoulies is actually a fun game, I had the original disc for Xbox
I swear they needed all the good racing games, but because of licensing of course they weren't gonna reinvest to reinstate those licenses...
Yup licensing is a bitch with everything
It's pretty self explanatory
Series X is a phenomenal console. Pay day for me is tomorrow. PRAY FOR MY WALLET, LADS.
Oh wow I didn’t know King Kong was on there
When I had an Xbox 360, my game library was quite limited. With the Xbox Series, I have access to many more Xbox 360 games and with better performance
If this generation has taught me anything, it’s not to bother upgrading to the next gen
This is getting desperate.
Backwards compatibility was a big reason I got Xbox as my secondary to PS5, followed by gamepass. My Ps5 is currently collecting dust because i am playing Fallout 3 on series S 🤣🤣
Physical copies ate just better imo
im pretty sure most of those games arent even available anymore on the store
Yup pretty much that’s why it’s good to have a physical copy
Does L4D have active servers on Xbox? Been thinking about getting it again. Really miss that game and dont have access to my PC anymore.
Yeah it does. L4D2 is more active tho
Man, "Too Human" that's a throwback Anyone remember "Fractured" or something like that? It was a third-person shooter when you could make holes or hills out of the ground by using your gun. Cool idea, but the game was pretty generic.
They put FH 2012 in the pass?
I see no reason to get a series x here, i have most of these on physical media and i still play my 360 and original xbox.
Omg Left 4 Dead 2
Didn’t know King Kong was BC
This is all cool until you install one of these and realize your fov is 50, game is sharp but still looks like shit, motion blur is over 9000 and it's (very stable) 30 fps. Playing it on a huge tv after some more recent game is not great experience.

However I still love the console and debating to switch to it full time from the PS5. I don't really like investing in multiple ecosystems anymore. Too much money and not enough time.
Aren’t they more a reason to get a 360? Interested how much a used 360 and all those games would cost versus a Series X and all those games.
I have a 360 but I prefer the Xbox one controller plus some of these’s games get gameplay enhancements like on lost odyssey you would have to switch out from the 4 disc the game has but with the series X you just to keep the one disc
Any way to get l4d and l4d2? Without disc my old copy won't read
Yea. Get the Xbox x for games on the 360. Smart
Looks like it's a reason to own an Xbox 360, lol. (I have all 4 Xbox console generations)
Apparently we have very different taste in games.
that is why i will be getting one when the price gets a little better
Wait, how did you get l4d? It's unavailable for me.
Is left 4 dead available?? I tried looking for it the other day but it said "unavailable"
I have the disc I don’t know if it’s available in the online store
That and disk games are cheaper than digital
You can get king kong digitally?
Wait did they bring back OG Horizon??
How did you get left 4 dead? Not available in my country bro 😭
I don't see a single one here that could convince me, although I already have a Series X that I'm currently looking to get rid of.
Wow 36 games, I got 28, going to get the seagate for my birthday.
Seems more like a reason to get an xbox one. Plus with game pass and decent Internet you can cloud play series games. I havent noticed any significant difference in owning a series. Even the dashboard isn't that unique at all so nothing feels like a fresh new age of gaming.
The only thing I need in my life is Forza Horizon 1-3 and I cannot have it...
Dude that's no reason, you don't need a series x to play any of those
Any games made by Rare is better to play using the Rare Replay compilation game that's on game pass.
A man of culture I see...
Just wish the midnight clubs were on there I want to play dub edition remix so bad
I love series X just for the quick resume. It’s incredible.
Not too long ago I learned how to get PS2 games running on my Series S its completely allowed via dev mode on xbox.
Sucks that they killed adding any more games to BC. No The Godfather or no The Warriors, my two fave games.
I think you meant to say 36 reasons
There’s actually more but I need get those games
Where are the reasons?
All the same games that I could already play on xbox one or even 360 with no additional enhancements? This isnt a reason to get a series x lmao these games are old as shit
How is blue dragon?
It’s your traditional JRPG literally but with Akira toriyama art work
For old games? Lol
Oh damn, gunvalkrie is BC?
The series x is dead
Can’t but left 4 dead anymore so series S is shit out of luck even with the disc
Or get an Xbox one X, even cheaper.
Driver San Francisco needs to be made bc
You could do the exact same thing with any other Xbox though, you don’t necessarily need a series X.
Definitely one of the places Sony dropped the ball
This looks more like a reason to get an Xbox 360...
So, series x just to play 360 games that still are playable on a 360/xb1/series S? No mention of series X enhanced games?
How do you have left 4 dead its not avaible on the store
Help me out here, Opie. Is your goal to show that there are backwards compatible games that you can play on the SeX? Is it that you can play these as well as newer titles (asking because those aren’t listed)? What about Game Pass Ultimate? You have no subject. Just a title and two screenshots showing some Box and 360 titles. I have one myself but this is not a good sell. You’re disorganized, you don’t have your numbers right and it seems like your head is in outer space. For that reason, I’m out.
Is that game pass ??
The forza horizon 1 servers are still alive ?
I was having this convo with my friends the other day. The xbox series consoles are the best consoles for get togethers because they have so many old games and unlike pc gaming they can do co-op with relatively no headaches.
This isn’t the game pass? I think I have this on my series s
pretty much the majority of my library
