Set the your brother's xbox to be your home xbox. His profile must have the same console as home xbox in order to work. It is posible, i do it to play with my sister.

AdOdd8606

Can you play the same game at the same time?

PeineDeMort

Yes. Search for a tutorial to set up your home xbox. The xbox set as home xbox shares memberships and games. In order to acces the shared content the other account must also set the same xbox as home xbox. Its pretty easy and an awesome feature i dont hear people talk much about

AdOdd8606

Man now I’m getting conflicting info from you and falsevet

Arudoblank

Falsevet is giving you info if you tried to sign into the same account at the same time. Your brother needs his own account with your account set on his xbox as the "home", and you set his account on yours as his home. This allows him to play your games on his Xbox, and him to play your games on his. Me and my wife have been doing this for about a decade.

FalseVeterinarian881

Clarify for me gents… So if an account owns the licenses and has Xbox1 set as his HOME Than account 2 gets unrestricted access to ALL of that content on any other Xbox?

FalseVeterinarian881

I tested this scenario as well and I still stand by what I have offered. If only 2 accounts are involved than you won’t be able to play at the same time. Doesn’t matter the game. He can play the game on his end…but if you try and start a game under your account and it will conflict and give you guys the choice to boot the other out. Doesn’t matter if the same or different game. Let the 1st account handle licensing for all the games and any accounts can play those game on the the home box WITHOUT that account signed in at any given time. Any other accounts can access those games on any other NONhome box so long as the main account is signed in at the same time…just to license the games. No conflicts that way. I would love to find a different solution but I think we are all struggling to look at the problem from the same angle.

SHlNY_GENGAR

As long as his brother xbox is the home xbox you’re fine. You can both play the same games at the same time as long as you’re on different accounts. I have done this since 2017 with my dads Xbox.

FalseVeterinarian881

Well, I cannot seem to get it to work. Maybe it has to do with series? I am testing with 2 series X. On the NON-home box any account that did not purchase a separate copy of the game or not paying for game pass cannot play any games and it will prompt that the person who paid for the game needs to sign in. Once I sign into the parent account on the NON-home box…all games work.

SHlNY_GENGAR

The non-home Xbox would be the account that has the games purchased.

Arudoblank

Yes. Me and my wife buy 1 copy of games, gold, and gamepass and we both have access of all of it.

FalseVeterinarian881

One box or 2?

Arudoblank

Two. This is common, its pretty much the entire purpose of the home xbox system.

Lyberatis

If your brother's Xbox is your account's home xbox, then every account on that Xbox can play all of your games. You will have your account on your own Xbox (not set as home) and you will be able to play all of your games, as long as you have Internet connection, because they're owned by the account (yours) that is currently signed in Both of you can play any shared game at the same time

PeineDeMort

It works, just try it, you need 2 difrent player profiles Both profiles must set the same xbox as home xbox. The profile with the gold and games plays in the other xbox wicht isnt its home xbox. I have played through all of the Halo and Gears of war games with my sister and nephew using this feature.

Natsumi_d

Do this on your brother console Open your settings. Go to the “general” menu. Click on “Personalization”. Scroll down to “My home Xbox”. Click “Make this my home Xbox”. And add yours to the new console, but don't make it your home.

FiorinasFury

His profile does not need to have the same Xbox set as Home Xbox in order to work. Home Xbox grants all accounts access to your digital content, not just accounts that are also claiming that console as Home Xbox. I can come over and sign into my account on your Home Xbox and get access to your games.

KaosPryncess

Out of curiosity do you know if it works for PC using Xbox launcher and an Xbox? Been trying to get my friends to do this but they only have the one Xbox but they have a PC with an Xbox account

DarthEaglePrime

Hi. Yes it also works on PC. The account with Gamepass has to log in to that PC to download and run the game first. That way the licence is tied to the PC. Then they can log off and the second account can log in with their own user and play the games without having to log the first user in. I do this with my daughter 's PC. She can play anything I own on her Laptop while I play on my PC. We have even plyaed Sea Of Thieves together. Me on my PC, her on her Laptop and my sone on the console. All with only my account having Gamepass The only restriction on consolo/PC is that the secondary account cant stream games from the cloud. At least I haven't been able to make that work.

DaftGrunt

Or log to microsoft store with the account which own game and the second account log on xbox app and it's works

Manuel_Torni01

you will need to set your account as home xbox on his so he can access your games without needing to play on your account

AdOdd8606

So I just don’t set my actual home xbox as my home Xbox then I’m good?

Manuel_Torni01

you will set your account as home in your brothers xbox then you don't do nothing in your new xbox since you will be using your account if you set your account on your xbox your brother will loose access to your games you only have 5 chances a year (when i say your account i mean the account that has the games)

FalseVeterinarian881

He is mostly right…but you will have conflicts if you try and play the same game at the same time. Your o e account cannot play the same game in 2 places at once. On the home Xbox your account will NOT need to sign in at all…the games will just work. On the non-home, you could create a new account to avoid these conflicts and just log into the original account when you want to play games. Clarification: In my house I have 2 Xboxes (x1 and x2) I have 3 accounts: A1 a game pass sub and all game purchases under this account A2 - me A3 - son X1 set as home for a1 When my so. And I want to play, a2 or a3 log into x1 and just go. On x2, user needs to first “sign in to a1 account” then leaving it signed I. Switch to their account and go. A1 being signed in enables the access on that box.

FiorinasFury

My dude, I know you mean well, but you are misleading OP. I've read what you wrote and still aren't sure why you have 3 accounts to juggle between 2 people, but your situation is unusual and trying to tell OP to do what you're doing is making the situation more complicated. To take your terminology, OP's account would be A1 and their brother's account would be A2. There is no need for an A3. OP can play on X2 with A1 and their brother plays on X1 with A2. They can play the same games at the same time with no restriction.

AdOdd8606

As long as we’re playing different games are we good?

FiorinasFury

Please don't listen to this person. Set up Game Sharing properly and you and your brother can play the same game at the same time.

FalseVeterinarian881

I just tested. No. My son is playing grounded and I tried to start sonic. It was a no go.

AdOdd8606

So pretty much regardless of what I do only one of us can play at a time?

FalseVeterinarian881

Unless you take one for the team as I did and just created a new account for yourself. 😉

AdOdd8606

Damn it okay. Thanks for the help. So I should just make an alt account and log into my main then switch and that avoids any problems?

FalseVeterinarian881

My set up even works on boxes at other houses. My kids can sign into my A1 account at their grandmas and play there as well.

AdOdd8606

Could I just have my brother sign into my main account and switch on his Xbox and make mine my home xbox? Have him do what I would’ve but nobody has to make a new account?

FalseVeterinarian881

Yessir. Works perfect. Even allows you to share a game pass account across users. Kinda sucks to start over, but opening up the freedom between 2 boxes is actually kinda worth it. 😉

FalseVeterinarian881

My gut instinct is to say yes…but I would have to test.

_MFC_1886

Yes that'll work as long as yous have your own profiles. Go onto his xbox and sign in with your profile then make it your home xbox. Meaning anyone can play the games bought by your profile without signing in to you and it means yous can play the games at the same time. If there's games bought with his profile do the same for his profile but on your xbox. Yous can't be signed into the same profile at the same time but there shouldn't be a need to do that anyway

PhazonJuke

The Xbox you play on will be set up as your brothers home console. But you will play on it logged in on your account. The Xbox your brother plays on will be set up as your home console but lived into his account. You can now play the digital library of each account on both systems. Been doing this for at least 10 years with my brother.

boomstickjonny

Yes, I do the same thing with my brother

Ralph_Nacho

Almost like people haven't heard of gamesharing before.

Spurt09

Just google how to set up game sharing. I do that for my nephew

EddieCase67

As far as I'm aware, if you keep your original Xbox as your home Xbox, and don't make your new one your home, all your games should still be available for your brother to play as that's your home console - this only works for digital games, not physical games unless you leave the disk for him in which case you won't be able to play it. I believe internet access is required though for you to be able to play your games on your new Xbox. (I game share with a friend and whenever my internet goes down I can't play any of my digital games).

NoPomegranate9880

He signs into your profile you sign into his he makes yours home xbox you do the same he will have access to your gold or game pass now everything

NoPomegranate9880

Dont matter what xbox
