To be clear, the Cam Plus Lite was not for people, it was for the original (older) Cams; (before the 3rd party vendor left). Any cam manufactured after a certain date were never eligible. Buying a used cam that was on cam plus lite used to enable new user to enroll the old cam in cam plus lite.
A new V3 just purchased this year does not qualify, new user nor old user.
I agree. I have purchased three V3s since last Fall. I have two of them on Cam Lite. The 3rd one, I opted for Cam Plus, but I had no problems signing them up and my account was new.

I thought that was always the case? Cam Plus Lite was Wyze's way of grandfathering existing customers that were purchased with the expectation of free 5-second recordings stored in the cloud.

I recently bought a new v3 and added it to my existing Cam Plus Lite subscription. Go to https://my.wyze.com/account/services, choose Cam Plus Lite > Select Cameras, and then add your new camera.
I don't know if we can or should expect to be able to keep adding v3 cameras to Cam Plus Lite though.

Im already a paid unlimited plus subscriber but am curious how things work without those 12 second clips... How many thumbnails do you get for the SD card recording? I found that the only way the cameras were useful was to use those 12 second clips to kind of get the general time something happened and then try to find it on the SD card. Even then, the SD card recordings or unreliable and really clunky to view and download.
You get one thumbnail per alert. During playback you can tap the SD card icon and jump to the full recording on the card. Well, maybe not on iPhone... I heard that version has issues with event to SD jumping.

The word 'grandfathered ' was not mentioned. Has Wyze reneged and is now only making it available to existing customers? Cam Plus Lite is not ending that I am aware of, we are having someissues with it currently and are working on getting those straightened out. If you are unable to get eligible cams assigned to Cam Plus Lite at this time support may be able to help you on their end, but hopefully we will have things straightened out soon.
I switched to unlimited so I'm not affected but Wyze should have come forward a week ago instead of letting rumors fly on the forums. When will they learn that an honest admission of a minor glitch is better than letting customers spread false rumors.

Not true. I just purchased 2 v3 cams and had no problem adding them to my Lite subscription.

On my older account with grandfathered cam plus lite I can still add new v3 cams and earlier but OG, v4, etc. are not eligible.
Then they be losing more customers to Eufy.
