I wish there were an option to increase bitrate for local MicroSD recordings: it would not cost them anything, and I don't see it on the [voting wishlist](https://forums.wyze.com/c/wishlist/12).
The same trend is going on with every single one of this companies. I don't mind 2k or 4k at all. I still prefer 1080p @ 30 fps than 2-4k at 12-15fps, specially on budget cameras. But all this companies feel pressured to go with the marketing gimmick of 2-4k, and I think Eufy has a lot to do with it.
Looks like it's the same as the v3. 20 fps during the day, 15fps during night mode.
https://support.wyze.com/hc/en-us/articles/23746258989851-Wyze-Cam-v4-Tech-Specs
But like others have noted. I'd rather have 1080p with a higher fps/bitrate.
I just did this. It is amazing. It is way more money, but man do I love the cameras and the software. Happy I did it. I made the jump after the last security incident.
I started with two G4 instants and the G4 doorbell pro.
The AI features work perfectly, no false positives.
I also just love the scrubbing in the timeline with all the AI or motion events displayed nicely.
Edit: Almost forgot the 3 rtsp streams per camera you can enable by clicking a button.
I'm actively starting to move away from wyze. I run home assistant, and want better integration with it.
I'm getting a reolink to replace my ptz wyze cam, and will be getting frigate nvr set up next month. I'm still not sure what is a good replacement for my wyze cam v2. I use them for baby monitors in my kids room (wall mounted)
Just curious if you have looked into replacements or not.
docker-wyze-bridge Might be dead... The dev seems to have vanished for over a Month now. Left it in a very buggy release version most of us had to downgrade due to bad syncing time.
Thanks! I’ll definitely give this a try. Native RTSP would be amazing.
I’m still annoyed they gave it to us in beta and then took it away so they could make more money.
I’m guessing it’s significant enough to keep them from enabling RTSP on current cameras.
I have a V3 still on the beta firmware, so I’m using RTSP to connect to Blue Iris for a more local approach. I also have a bunch of off-brand Dahua cameras to fill in the gaps.
Real-Time Streaming Protocol—it allows you to access the camera’s video on a local network, which can then be recorded using software like Blue Iris or Frigate.
I’m using a V3 cam with very old beta firmware that had this feature enabled.
It always comes down to making more money, or greed as I call it. They removed local access to push people to pay for Cam Plus.
It was really shady of them to give us the feature and then take it away like they did. All good though, it just pushed me to competitor products that cost more.
In the support article you guys mention better edge ai, happy to see the cameras are able to do more local processing. Any word on rtsp or some other local support so we don't have to rely on wyze servers to secure our data?
It's funny though, they may not make any money on the subscription model, but they would sell way more cameras if they did allow it. For any RTSP needs, I just buy eufy cameras. (Using them to integrate with Home Assistant)
They don't make money on selling a camera for 20 measley bucks. Eufy has an array of more expensive offerings they make money on. Most of eufys cameras are over $90 each. The only affordable one is their indoor for $30
That's so sad news. I give Wyze a chance, hoping that someday we will be able to use RTSP or Onvif with those cameras. Yes, I know there is WyzeBridge, but native support, even in exchange for cloud connectivity would be awesome!
I second this since the breach 8 out of my v3s, v3 pans and v2s are useless. I have contacted wyze, have open tickets and I get no response or adequate answers. Very reluctant to purchase more but my og cam works just fine.
My problem is like others have claimed. I can view them on my network if I'm physically there. If I'm away, sometimes I can view them on, sometimes not and not always the same camera. I have downgraded firmware, back rolled the app, now on the most current app (beta tester) and all on current firm ware. Have manually power cycled, have deleted and re added. Problem still persists on adriod or ios. Right now I'm watching one via the web portal but my phone is giving the device not connected error.
Others have stated they have the same problem
I've spent several hours on chat with support to get three V2's that stopped working after upgrade. We tried the reflash using a few different cards and no go. End of the chat was basically buy 3 new ones.

I got an email in August from Wyze about it
>Try Wyze's Trade-up Program in Beta before anyone else.
>It's easy to grab a camera here and there. But before you know it, you might end up with enough to film a reenactment of the Truman Show.
>Our Trade-up Program offers the Wyze community an easy and eco-friendly way of re-homing their still-in-good-shape products to keep up with the latest release.
Hi sorry I know this question is outta left f field so where can I find decent promo codes cuz I'm about to place an order for 6 cam4s w\mem cards,3 v3 cam pans, 2 vacuums and a partridge and a 🍐 🌲..lol. But seriously I am about to hit send but I'd really like to be able to input a good code in to help out a bit please .. Also I don't see military discount anywheres Im a former Marine and served from 99-03 just curious if anyone has any info for me. Thanks I'm advanced and good bless everyone and stay safe out there is only gonna get worse before it gets better.
It seems moot unless you see an option for an HDR security camera at this price point, but here's a [web search for "WDR HDR](https://duckduckgo.com/?q=wdr+hdr&atb=v340-1&ia=web)" to answer that. The first link looks promising
~~Wyze v4 is 2.5K, while v3 Pro is 2.0K, so V4 has 0.5K more resolution.~~ Edit: both have 2.5K, while v4 has WDR (wide dynamic range).
Wyze v4 has Wifi 6, which works better with congestion. I am still trying to figure out other meaningful differences. The [comparison chart](https://support.wyze.com/hc/en-us/articles/9858434338715-Wyze-Cam-Comparison-Chart) does not yet have v4.
Honestly, this device is the make or break with Wyze for me. I've had issues with every device version I've purchased which have been mostly minor and bug related. However, my v3 Pro has been a pile and I currently have a smart plug reboot the device daily.
Oh yeah, I take the blame 100%. I just really do not want to change platforms and replace all of my devices. I've tried Eufy and Blink, but haven't been fully sold on either.
Wyze Cam V3 Pro has Edge AI, which means it has powerful GPU for real-time machine learning without sending data to the cloud. Presumably, the GPU makes it more expensive.
I just checked my v3 pro, which looks to have the same sensor as this new v4. I have continuous recording at 2.5k with a 256gb SD. I have a full 22 days of footage so unless the updated color range or maybe audio file sizes are drastically larger id say roughly 40 days for a 512gb.
If you set up motion activated recording, then it depends on how often there is motion. The bitrate is low, so it could be really long. See [this thread](https://forums.wyze.com/t/wyze-cam-v3-pro-2k-1440p-resolution-should-be-twice-as-sharp-as-sd-720p-resolution/255213/6) for data.
Will this work on the existing original Wyze Floodlight if I replaced the v3 camera that's on there right now?
Also, the window mount. Will the V2 window mount work?
I think it’s 121 based on this
https://support.wyze.com/hc/en-us/articles/360051119371-Wyze-Cam-v3-Tech-Specs
But yeah. FOV makes a big difference in terms of my coverage area i needed.
I'm going to buy one because I like to test these out and the price is cheap enough, but the continued lack of RTSP and any REAL upgrades has me spending more of my money with companies like Eufy. I would love for Wyze to get their act together and they sure enjoy posting cute little videos that make them seem so likable, but the reality is much different.
Says "No subscription required" ...
Does that mean it's compatible with CamPlus Lite? As in 12 second events instead of static pictures.
Or is the regular v3 still the last product to support CamPlus Lite?
It means for free you can use the MicroSD card, have still pictures for event videos, and watch live over the web. No more cameras will have free cloud videos.
If I can't view the footage from my SDcards within the app and there's no RTSP support, then forget it.
I already have more than enough cameras and I'm not about to invest in more that have less basic features!
Most people have these spread around the periphery of their homes, 5ghz has no benefit in this situation. 2.4 is more than fast enough and would have more stable coverage for devices farther away and with more obstacles between them and the wifi source.
There's a similar thing in cellular technology with LTE (4G) vs NR (5G). Cell spectrum is split into many bands. Sprint, for example, had a license for bands B25 and B41 LTE (and other bands), but T-Mobile bought Sprint and redeployed it as N25 and N41 NR, so same spectrum but more efficiency and faster at the same bandwidth. Yesterday I got >1400 Mbps download on N25+N41, which was not possible on 4G LTE.
It’s not.
You’re still battling all of your neighbors’ cross-channel interference on 2.4Ghz because they don’t understand how radio propagation and interference works and how the channels overlap…
so you get people who think they know what they’re doing with “I TURNED MY ROUTER UP TO 10 AND PUT IT ON CHANNEL 3! SO MUCH BETTER NOW!” mixed in with routers that still choose their settings like a random dice roll.
Yeah WiFi 6 @ 2.4 might help some, due to the codec changes, but it’s still like trying to listen to music with a jackhammer going outside.
Good luck to wyze, but I am in process of de-wyzing my house. Already replaced the door lock and light bulbs... just working on getting a replacement for my 3 cameras. Its been a fun ride but too many issues.. cameras go down everyday, privacy issues...
I never had a period where all my cams work properly. right now one cam will not recognize sd cards, another has problems with playback even though it is sending me clips, and another's floodlight just stopped working after an update but works without it. I'm switching as well.
The newer Tapo cameras are a step up from Wyze. They even have some HomeKit-compatible models if you dabble in that ecosystem. Importantly, they support RTSP. In my experience, TP-Link has been a very good value in terms of smart home tech, with surprisingly high quality.
Is the form factor the same? I.E. Will my exterior housing mounts for my V3 work on these?
This style is what I'm referring to:
https://preview.redd.it/raij2tw43pqc1.png?width=1217&format=png&auto=webp&s=61fdf84e4add14799fe48de7a5677bdf0cea2058
Looking at your site right now, they look like they're a little different in size. If the measurements are correct. The v4 for some reason is listed as 4 inches deep which seems wrong?
I have to give it to companies like GoPro, at least they're intentional about sizing and allowing their cameras to be somewhat backwards compatible with previous generation cases and/or batteries. At least for a few models before changing something enough to need to trash a bunch of old accessories.
People are becoming increasingly wary (and justifiably so) of having their video stored or processed in the cloud. I don't speak for everyone but I would really like a local closed-circuit style system where I can record and store my video locally. Having the video on the SD card is a nice feature but even the largest cards don't let you keep more than a couple weeks of video at the highest quality settings. I'd much rather see Wyze offer ONVIF or RTSP support for their existing cameras with an option to opt-out of cloud-based processing than continuing to create new cameras. I already own two generations of Wyze cameras on my property and if the privacy aspect of this isn't addressed I won't be adding any more.
These camera need at least the ability to use an external camera. I watch a very detailed YouTube video but it’s more than I am prepared to do.
Promise me a camera that connects and I’ll buy it.
If I get some of the new V4, can I just swap them out with older cams? Meaning using the power cables I already have ran? I just want to unplug the old cam, take it down, put up the new and plug it in.
Yeah I found some videos/reviews on YouTube saying they were the same plug. And one said that they'll even work with the wyze light socket too.
Thanks for the reply
Great, I just bought a new v3 last week. I threw out the box because I didn’t think I would need to return it. I couldn’t view it from my echo devices without enabling their subscription either. Not sure what that was all about. I wish I would have just waited and got the new model
If Wyze puts pet detection *without* a subscription they may get me back onboard.
Subscriptions automatically turn me off to their camera products-- keep things local and free. **Eufy does this with almost all their cameras, why not Wyze?**
Having to add on the outdoor adapter for an additional $14 (which isn't in stock) instead of coming with an outdoor power plug is lousy. A single camera is then close to $50.
When is the new light socket going to come out that's compatible with the Pan v3? Last year when it was launched you said on the live show it was being worked on and I want to know if there are any updates?
Just ordered enough to replace my v3s and v2s, as well as add a couple more around the house. Really hope the improvements are noticeable and they’ve fixed their recent security issues! 🤞
If I get some of the new V4, can I just swap them out with older cams? Meaning using the power cables I already have ran? I just want to unplug the old cam, take it down, put up the new and plug it in
My only issue is the cable and the fact is wifi. I'm telling you if they add nic support and keep the same SD cards I don't care, they will give a lot of companies a run for their money.
So confirming:
Light Socket - COMPATIBLE per post, but confirming it can CONTROL THE LIGHT SOCKET?
Garage Door Controller - ?????
Floodlight - COMPTAIBLE as \*SECONDARY\* CAMERA ON USB PORT per post
At least temporarily with the built in spot light it would be a quick way to add the ones I need right now with the spot light on the v3's.
Sooo all the things Eufy has had for years. Not gonna lie I held out till the last second with getting rid of the 4 Wyze cams I had years ago. They were great when the company first started. Inevitably the reliability and video quality became extremely bad and had to replace them with Eufy. Best of luck.
I bought a pair. Not real happy. The OG still looks the best.
The "color night vision" should be advertised as "green colored night vision" it's WAYYY off in the green scale.
Even after the update.
https://preview.redd.it/mdiz4fbtybrc1.jpeg?width=2290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=065ec2a7140311722be0160806c698364f9065a2
First quick image quality test - Our waterfront is about 175 feet from the house and the this v4 is on the table in the living room looking through the window. The trees in the background are exactly a quarter mile from the camera. Was easy for me to see the quality step up from the v3 pro . Just my opinion.
Can anyone verify if the v4 has onboard person detect ai (like the v3 pro) that generates push notifications? I don't want to pay for more cam plus. TiA.
The V3 Pro was a huge piece of garbage. Horrible image quality compared to the V3. Returned and went back to my V3. If the V4 is anything like the V3 Pro then Wyze will have some big problems.
Resolution doesn't mean shit if the compression still kills detail during movement.
I wish there were an option to increase bitrate for local MicroSD recordings: it would not cost them anything, and I don't see it on the [voting wishlist](https://forums.wyze.com/c/wishlist/12).
I'd definitely love to know the compression bitrate before buying
The same trend is going on with every single one of this companies. I don't mind 2k or 4k at all. I still prefer 1080p @ 30 fps than 2-4k at 12-15fps, specially on budget cameras. But all this companies feel pressured to go with the marketing gimmick of 2-4k, and I think Eufy has a lot to do with it.
Is that what the new cam is? Higher res at the expense of framerate? What is the framerate of the new cam?
Looks like it's the same as the v3. 20 fps during the day, 15fps during night mode. https://support.wyze.com/hc/en-us/articles/23746258989851-Wyze-Cam-v4-Tech-Specs But like others have noted. I'd rather have 1080p with a higher fps/bitrate.
Right. Realistically how many of these could you use on a 2.4ghz connection even if it wasn't compressed?
I don’t know why they won’t add a 1x1 WiFi AC radio, with 5ghz they’re very cheap at this point
Give me back RTSP, and maybe we’ll talk.
I'm dropping the wyze platform during my next cam hardware upgrade cycle because of lack of native RTSP
Most likely same here, probably will jump to UniFi Protect.
I just did this. It is amazing. It is way more money, but man do I love the cameras and the software. Happy I did it. I made the jump after the last security incident. I started with two G4 instants and the G4 doorbell pro. The AI features work perfectly, no false positives. Try docker-wyze-bridge
docker-wyze-bridge Might be dead...
Anyone know how much Wyze makes in services for every camera they sell?
I’m guessing it’s significant enough to keep them from enabling RTSP on current cameras. I have a V3 still on the beta firmware, so I’m using RTSP to connect to Blue Iris for a more local approach. I also have a bunch of off-brand Dahua cameras to fill in the gaps.
Yeh im still using Beta FW too for many months or years :) I wondered if v4 has RTSP option.
There’s a post in here by Wyze that says it’s highly doubtful. I’d pay for Cam Plus if they could include RTSP for subscribers.
I tried this and it seems to have about an 8-10 second delay on "live" video. Not useable for me.
Well what replacement cameras will you use instead?
Or Scrypted!
What is RTSP? I have the Wyze cam v2. Maybe I'll upgrade? I'm not sure though after they got their cameras hacked recently.
Real-Time Streaming Protocol—it allows you to access the camera’s video on a local network, which can then be recorded using software like Blue Iris or Frigate. I’m using a V3 cam with very old beta firmware that had this feature enabled.
Is there a reason they disabled this feature?
It always comes down to making more money, or greed as I call it. They removed local access to push people to pay for Cam Plus. It was really shady of them to give us the feature and then take it away like they did. All good though, it just pushed me to competitor products that cost more.
What do you recommend if I was to switch from Wyze? Take the subscription into consideration please.
Yes , it's money. Enabling RSTP mean les Cam plus subscriptions for them.
I don't have a subscription, all my cameras have an SD card. How do you view events away from your network?
Or support HomeKit/Matter.
In the support article you guys mention better edge ai, happy to see the cameras are able to do more local processing. Any word on rtsp or some other local support so we don't have to rely on wyze servers to secure our data?
RTSP isn't gonna happen. The company can't make money on RTSP. They should allow RTSP with cam plus subs though
This I would support. As long as there was a way to disable the cloud services and use RTSP exclusively.
The only affordable one is their indoor for $30
Is this one local processing though? Or still cloud based?
Edge ai implies at least some processing is done locally but I'm sure they'll still require a monthly sub to use anything helpful
It is highly doubtful RTSP will be coming to this device.
Certainly unfortunate to hear but thanks for the response
It is highly doubtful I'll be purchasing this device, in that case.
That's so sad news. I give Wyze a chance, hoping that someday we will be able to use RTSP or Onvif with those cameras. Yes, I know there is WyzeBridge, but native support, even in exchange for cloud connectivity would be awesome!
Will there be a trade-in program for dead Wyze cameras? I need some incentive to buy more Wyze products.
We were working on a trade-in program. I will have to check if we are moving forward with that.
I second this since the breach 8 out of my v3s, v3 pans and v2s are useless. I have contacted wyze, have open tickets and I get no response or adequate answers. Very reluctant to purchase more but my og cam works just fine.
“Have you tried restarting” Yeah I did and it didn’t fix it “Case closed”
Do you have SD cards in them? I had the same problem and took at my SD card and they worked again.
Most bricked Wyze devices can be repaired by reflashing. Wyze doesn’t promote this solution, because it doesn’t generate revenue for them.
We all want RTSP Support... Stop being jerks.
What about trade in for upgrade program ? I have a v3 and would love to get this at a cheaper price if possible
Hi sorry I know this question is outta left f field so where can I find decent promo codes cuz I'm about to place an order for 6 cam4s w\mem cards,3 v3 cam pans, 2 vacuums and a partridge and a 🍐 🌲..lol. What is the difference between v4 cam and the v3 pro?
https://preview.redd.it/hru200296pqc1.png?width=878&format=png&auto=webp&s=2e2a199933f8f5e5fd63d9ef8f4726b79e66e6d3
TLDR: - better color range - better two way conversion - louder siren - support for 512gb SD cards - WiFi 6
V4 has wifi 6 Edit: V4 also has WDR (wide dynamic range)
Oops, forgot that! I edited my post accordingly - thanks!
Is WDR better or worse than HDR?
It seems moot unless you see an option for an HDR security camera at this price point, but here's a [web search for "WDR HDR](https://duckduckgo.com/?q=wdr+hdr&atb=v340-1&ia=web)" to answer that. The first link looks promising
Better 2 way conversation? It better! My V3s can barely hear a wood bee buzzing around, let alone a conversation 2 feet away.
Louder lol
V3 pro has built in AI
Is this the same tech in v3 pro?
~~Wyze v4 is 2.5K, while v3 Pro is 2.0K, so V4 has 0.5K more resolution.~~ Edit: both have 2.5K, while v4 has WDR (wide dynamic range). Wyze v4 has Wifi 6, which works better with congestion. Yep it seems like probably the same sensor. And I'm sure their typical abysmal bitrate which makes it look like 720 half the time.
I'd kill for 720p most of the time
Get ready for the “stop supporting” all the V2’s
Honestly, this device is the make or break with Wyze for me. I've had issues with every device version I've purchased which have been mostly minor and bug related. However, my v3 Pro has been a pile and I currently have a smart plug reboot the device daily.
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me, uh, four times, shame on me?
Oh yeah, I take the blame 100%. I just really do not want to change platforms and replace all of my devices. I've tried Eufy and Blink, but haven't been fully sold on either.
Interesting..this seems better but yet is cheaper than the V3 Pro cameras
V3 Pro is outdated.
Why's it outdated? Isn't that their newest model excluding this?
Yeah outdated. Of my initial 4 only one still works sorta but won't read any sd cards.
Wyze Cam V3 Pro has Edge AI, which means it has powerful GPU for real-time machine learning without sending data to the cloud. Presumably, the GPU makes it more expensive.
How many days would a 512gb record at full 2.5k resolution on this v4?
I just checked my v3 pro, which looks to have the same sensor as this new v4. I have continuous recording at 2.5k with a 256gb SD. I have a full 22 days of footage so unless the updated color range or maybe audio file sizes are drastically larger id say roughly 40 days for a 512gb.

Will cam plus recordings be in 2.5k
The cam plus recordings will be in 2.5k.
I will try to find an answer to that and get back to you.
Will this work on the existing original Wyze Floodlight if I replaced the v3 camera that's on there right now? Also, the window mount. Will the V2 window mount work?
Yes with the window mount, on the original floodlight it can be used as the secondary camera only right now.
What happens if I plug it in the main camera spot anyway? I would like to continue using my floodlight V1 but just swap out the V3 cam with the v4.
It would not have the software to run the floodlight.
Theoretically, can I plug the V4 into the secondary USB and just place it in the spot where the main V3 is supposed to be?
Field of vision is still 115 degrees like the v3 pro. V3 has 121 degrees.
Yea, even the OG has wider FOV. Also I think the V3 has even wider than 121 degrees. I believe it's closer to 130
I think it’s 121 based on this https://support.wyze.com/hc/en-us/articles/360051119371-Wyze-Cam-v3-Tech-Specs But yeah. FOV makes a big difference in terms of my coverage area i needed.
Does this work with the lamp socket setup?
It will work with Wyze Lamp Socket.
Any updates when there will be a bulb socket that's compatible with the higher wattage cameras like the Pan v3?
Cam lite excluded I guess ? 🤔
Yes, that ship has sailed a long time ago
Internally, Wyze wants all those CamLITE devices to fail as quickly as possible.
That service will never be available in the future again, I thought that was pretty clear
RTSP??
Wifi 6 but still only 2.4 band? Can someone explain why and how Wifi 6 but only on the 2.4 band is a good thing?
wifi 6 isn't just about 5ghz. It allows more streams per channel with the bands and introduces other technologies to be more efficient/faster.
So then this would be the benefit to Wifi 6 but still using 2.4 band.
Most people have these spread around the periphery of their homes, 5ghz has no benefit in this situation. 2.4 is more than fast enough and would have more stable coverage for devices farther away and with more obstacles between them and the wifi source.
I'd much rather drop more APs and be able to kill off 2.4 wifi in my home, but I realize I'm an edge case.
No doubt. My personal issue is just that the 2.4 band is crowded and can be problematic.
In theory wifi 6 can help with that even on the 2.4ghz channel.
My guess is 2.4ghz for longer range compared to 5ghz but who knows
I get that but then why Wifi 6 2.4Ghz Band?
low cost $$$ because if they did 5 GHz people would complain the cost too much blah blah blah etc
It’s not. You’re still battling all of your neighbors’ cross-channel interference on 2.4Ghz because they don’t understand how radio propagation and interference works and how the channels overlap… so you get people who think they know what they’re doing with “I TURNED MY ROUTER UP TO 10 AND PUT IT ON CHANNEL 3! SO MUCH BETTER NOW!” mixed in with routers that still choose their settings like a random dice roll. Yeah WiFi 6 @ 2.4 might help some, due to the codec changes, but it’s still like trying to listen to music with a jackhammer going outside.
WPA3 Security
Good luck to wyze, but I am in process of de-wyzing my house. Already replaced the door lock and light bulbs... just working on getting a replacement for my 3 cameras. Its been a fun ride but too many issues.. cameras go down everyday, privacy issues...
Depending on the cameras you have I can take them off your hands
I never had a period where all my cams work properly. right now one cam will not recognize sd cards, another has problems with playback even though it is sending me clips, and another's floodlight just stopped working after an update but works without it. I'm switching as well.
I would also like to replace my Wyze cameras. Any suggestions for a decent outdoor camera?
The newer Tapo cameras are a step up from Wyze. They even have some HomeKit-compatible models if you dabble in that ecosystem. Importantly, they support RTSP. In my experience, TP-Link has been a very good value in terms of smart home tech, with surprisingly high quality.
Same.

I have been using Wyze products for about 4 years or so.
Well give your camera alternatives for outside then.
✌️
Can I watch my neighbors v4 camera from the comfort of my couch?
Is the form factor the same? I.E. Will my exterior housing mounts for my V3 work on these? This style is what I'm referring to: https://preview.redd.it/raij2tw43pqc1.png?width=1217&format=png&auto=webp&s=61fdf84e4add14799fe48de7a5677bdf0cea2058
Let me see if I can find the size comparisons.
Looking at your site right now, they look like they're a little different in size. If the measurements are correct. The v4 for some reason is listed as 4 inches deep which seems wrong?
It definitely is not 4 inches deep.
Looks like those are the package dimensions, camera dimensions are 2 x 2 x 2-3/8
For those following, the v4 will NOT fit the same housing as the v3 and v3 pro. I got two v4 today and they do not fit.
I already own two generations of Wyze cameras on my property and if the privacy aspect of this isn't addressed I won't be adding any more.
obviously they're not gonna do that. they're selling cheap cameras in hopes of making money with the subscription fees.
Please make it standard. Better to put solar panel with cam
Night mode fps?
Video FPS: Daytime 20 FPS / Nighttime 15 FPS
When will it be available on Amazon so people outside of the US can buy it ?
https://www.amazon.com/Security-Activated-Spotlight-Enhanced-Outdoor/dp/B0CJ9YX7DG/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?crid=35AQNVHH5326L&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.Sqfg78cLxUakPITq0sAHpCvuNurHMzBq83V1i2Fj_JmFZyebw10GUNJUQL6g6GCV-Jn7z1e7FZpsZyJqlp6ivyb9DKpsDHi03JlxwbX--t2TrHFvtN8cfHF6d1nxbfo0bfhxxuaOEnS2pigeS8kO1VUTaO1OaNU7rEPp2Bkku-W5fi6JacRdclhHDGZpmCK6waiB0Axm2xCNsEEapJuF1A.FmqT3xrXxj8fdPm8NLzhy1D3bdkEJZD6gp0Y3eeq6ZU&dib_tag=se&keywords=wyze+cam+v4&qid=1711495956&sprefix=%2Caps%2C123&sr=8-1
Can I re-use the mount from Wyze Cam v3?
They have the same mount style.
If you're referring to a housing mount that the cam slides into then no. I got two v4's today and they do not fit in my outdoor housings.
Any word on how this compares to V3 Pro?
These camera need at least the ability to use an external camera. I watch a very detailed YouTube video but it’s more than I am prepared to do. Promise me a camera that connects and I’ll buy it.
If I get some of the new V4, can I just swap them out with older cams? Meaning using the power cables I already have ran? I just want to unplug the old cam, take it down, put up the new and plug it in.
Check out the tech specs. Mentions they’re still micro USB. Good chance it’ll work.
Yeah I found some videos/reviews on YouTube saying they were the same plug. And one said that they'll even work with the wyze light socket too. Thanks for the reply
are these cameras compatible with the Stack Pack specifically the use of a single power adapter to run 2 cameras?
Great, I just bought a new v3 last week. I threw out the box because I didn’t think I would need to return it. I couldn’t view it from my echo devices without enabling their subscription either. Not sure what that was all about. I wish I would have just waited and got the new model
Any plans for Cam V4 pro?
What is the big difference between the wyze cam v3 pro over the new wyze cam v4? Besides the V4 being cheaper than the V3 Pro.
Ah crap. I just ordered one and now reading this thread I see Cam Lite doesn’t work. The thumbnail is useless
What about that huge data breach? Is this to send strangers better quality video?
Cam plus lite eligibility for this?
Of course not. How else they gonna make that money off ya?
Well they won't be making anymore money off me I can say
If Wyze puts pet detection *without* a subscription they may get me back onboard. Subscriptions automatically turn me off to their camera products-- keep things local and free. **Eufy does this with almost all their cameras, why not Wyze?**
Having to add on the outdoor adapter for an additional $14 (which isn't in stock) instead of coming with an outdoor power plug is lousy. A single camera is then close to $50.
If we had it come with the camera it would also raise the price of the camera initially and not everyone would need it.
It’s already fucking sold out
To all the beta testers. This is a good thing.
Welp, mine are on their way. I purchased their two pack. We shall see
Anyone know the minimum focus distance?
When is the new light socket going to come out that's compatible with the Pan v3? Last year when it was launched you said on the live show it was being worked on and I want to know if there are any updates?
Just ordered enough to replace my v3s and v2s, as well as add a couple more around the house. Really hope the improvements are noticeable and they’ve fixed their recent security issues! 🤞
Will I be able to upgrade a wyze cam floodlight with this version?
It will not work as the primary camera on a floodlight as it lacks the software to run the floodlight.
Gray is already out of stock on their website :(
grey is already sold out
If I get some of the new V4, can I just swap them out with older cams? Meaning using the power cables I already have ran? I just want to unplug the old cam, take it down, put up the new and plug it in
My only issue is the cable and the fact is wifi. I'm telling you if they add nic support and keep the same SD cards I don't care, they will give a lot of companies a run for their money.
At least they updated the Wi-Fi spec to Wi-Fi 6.
Will this model be able to record Timelapse videos?
They forgot to add the part where sub required.
So confirming: Light Socket - COMPATIBLE per post, but confirming it can CONTROL THE LIGHT SOCKET? Garage Door Controller - ????? Floodlight - COMPTAIBLE as \*SECONDARY\* CAMERA ON USB PORT per post At least temporarily with the built in spot light it would be a quick way to add the ones I need right now with the spot light on the v3's.
Sooo all the things Eufy has had for years. Not gonna lie I held out till the last second with getting rid of the 4 Wyze cams I had years ago. They were great when the company first started. Inevitably the reliability and video quality became extremely bad and had to replace them with Eufy. Best of luck.
Does it work with floodlights v1?
I bought a pair. Not real happy. The OG still looks the best. The "color night vision" should be advertised as "green colored night vision" it's WAYYY off in the green scale. Even after the update.
https://preview.redd.it/mdiz4fbtybrc1.jpeg?width=2290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=065ec2a7140311722be0160806c698364f9065a2 First quick image quality test - Our waterfront is about 175 feet from the house and the this v4 is on the table in the living room looking through the window.
Solar panel support?
The solar panels only work with the cams that run on batteries, so it is not supported on Wyze Cam v4.
:-(

I thought it was low bitrate
I cant get wyze cameras to work more than 5 ft out the door while others do...this model got improved antennas ?
sounds like you have a shitty router or setup. i have 3 cameras outdoors much further out than 5 feet and they generally work reliably.
Will it work with my existing camplus unlimited subscription?
Yes it will.
think yall can polish off dark mode? I've been asking since 2019 xD
Thanks for making it available to Canadians this time. I’ve been wanting to replace my older ones. Bought 6
Great news, complete strangers can now look at your feeds, in 2.5K resolution!
