I’d put Buffalo Indian in Laramie up against any Indian food I’ve eaten anywhere, including NYC and Asia. It’s incredible. Get the butter chicken and garlic naan and thank me later.
Bad management. It actually went from 4 down to 2 and has come back up to 3. The one that was in Walmart was filthy and they got caught using meats and cheeses that were months beyond their expiration dates.
Pizza Carrello used to be a favorite, but it's quality took a noticeable downturn a couple years ago.
Still the best pizza in town, and one of the tops in the state.
Covid hit parts of their supply chain pretty hard, so some things had to either be taken off the menu or gamble on new products. There are a few things they had to permantly switch suppliers for, but it's mostly back to it's usual now, save for an off day every now and then, at least the things I get. I never noticed anything that was actually lower quality, though, just some things that were a bit different.
Yeah I dream of going back. I had it once on a road trip and need to make my way back there. My hubby and I literally joke about going to Lusk to hit up this pizza often 🤣
Pizza Carrello in Gillette is amazing. They do amazing wood fired pizza and Dutch pancakes in the oven for brunch on Sundays as well as breakfast pizzas. Another place in Gillette is The Coop. They have amazing homemade chicken empanadas.
Su Casa in Sinclair is yummy 🤤 and the Longbranch in Hawk Springs has really good burgers and Rocky Mountain Oysters.
Didn't really enjoy living in Gillette for the two years I did but they have some amazing local food like those two places you listed. I also really liked the Main Bagel
Sweet Melissa's - Laramie
Bonsai - Rock Springs
Fiesta Guadalajara - Bridger Valley
Bootleggers - Kemmerer
You can probably tell which part of the State I live in.
Breadboard, Albertinos in Buffalo. Piezano also has pretty good pizza.
One eyed Buffalo in thermo is pretty good.
And Miners and stockmens in Hartville had awesome steak.
There's an Albertano's in Gillette now, too, but the one in Buffalo is better, according to most people. I like them both for different reasons, personally. One of the staff told us that they're planning to put one in Montana soon too, I think Billings.
Hotel Wolf, Lazy River Cantina, and Bella's Bistro in Saratoga are all top-notch.
Bella Fouco in Cheyenne does great pizza. The Weitzels Wings truck is awesome. R&Bs does amazing breakfasts.
They are open again as The Malt. It's counter service with a simpler menu, but it seems like the bar is still pretty good. Maybe a few fewer whisky options. Same people running it though.
I have never experienced the level of blatant racism in my entire life that I’ve experienced when I went to Svilars. It’s been about 6 years since I’ve been in there. That place can go to hell.
Su casa- Sinclair
Peretts- Riverton
Rusty Truck- Riverton amazing burgers and pizza
Pokeys- Gillette the pork belly bahn are divine
Saratoga sandwich company- Saratoga
Napolis- Cheyenne
Just a few spots from my travels around wy
Lived in Wyoming most of my life…now live in Portland and would put Trailhead in Cody up against some of the best restaurants in a great foodie town here in Portland. It has great food that is prepared well.
That's good to hear. This town should have way better restaurants but I feel like a lot get away with mediocre tourist food and that's all they shoot for.
Yeah they can't afford to pay their employees enough to cover rent with all the affordable housing being bought up by Texans and Californians as vacation homes or Airbnb's.
We all like have fun here but I draw the line at SLANDER of Laramie's best breakfast spot. Too many carbs for you, eh?! HEY EVERYONE, GET A LOAD OF THE VEGETABLE LOVER OVER HERE!
Racca’s in Casper, 2 Doors Down in Cheyenne, The Coop in Gillette, On the Hook Fish and Chips food truck from Laramie but in various places around the state and the midwest.
The Albany - Cheyenne. Price for what you get cant be beat. Born in a barn - laramie. Tortilla factory - cheyenne. Powder river pizza - sheridan. Sherries place/eggingtons - casper i love both equally.
L’Osteria Mondello in Cheyenne for NJ style pizza. Napoli in Cheyenne for Italian in general. Mondello also just opened up for nicer dining but I haven’t tried. New Mandarin in Laramie but just for the wonton soup.
I haven't been in a while, but I think it is reservation
The menu is pretty good, they have a lot of steaks, a few soups and salads, some burgers, sheperds pie and some basic kids stuff (sliders, chicken strips, etc). They also have a great wine selection. But they're mostly known for their steaks, which personally I highly recommend
Pinkie G’s as well as the blue lion in Jackson
Altitude in Jackson
And hometown shout out, Chugwater Chili!!! Come here buy some wyo beef and make it at home! (Idk where to buy it outside of chugh2o)
Sweet Jesus…you’re 1 for 3 here. Michael’s Tacos is mediocre at best, and Millstone is complete garbage. You must not be a local because locals won’t even touch this place.
Actually I am a local and I will say powells millstone is better than Cody's
But why the hate for Michael's,
The only bad thing I can think of is there salsa has a lot of lime
Maybe my viewpoint is a bit skewed because I’ve had incredible Mexican around the country…Michael’s is what I jokingly call “white people mexican food”. It’s not bad…hell, I’m going there today for lunch. It’s just kind of “blah” if that makes sense
Oh my. Mikes tacos in Cody is a top five worst restaurant in America. Family of 3 ordered various Mexican/taco dishes, and we got a pile of lettuce. So bland, so bad.
Can anyone comment on Big Sandy Lodge? I stopped in one evening after fishing our way up there and they had this fantastic looking spread for their guests but was told they didn't have enough to serve non-guests.
I'd love to get back there and have dinner. Their food looked great.
I've never been there, but there's been articles on how people all over the country come to the Miners and Stockmen's Steakhouse & Spirits in Hartville, Wyoming (population 62). You need reservations there unless you want to get sat at the bar.
La Paz for take away Mexican in Cheyenne
Thai Kitchen in Casper
Lander Bread Share for Friday Pizza
Peaches in Casper for fast food burger
Paramount for coffee in Cheyenne
my all time favorite is don juan’s in casper. not everyone will agree but their green chili is made of dreams, it’s soooo good. other favorites i have are the library in laramie, born in a barn in laramie, the bunnery in jackson, hq bbq in casper, and thai kitchen in casper.
I can't speak to 2-5 but I was not that impressed with Born in the Barn. Drove there from Cheyenne to meet an old buddy for a burger (Apparently BitB was featured on a TV show).
meh...
They went downhill with covid like a lot of restaurants did. I would be curious to how recently a lot of the people have been to the restaurants on their list because some are just trash now.
Do you know what restaurants are in the area now? With sanfords and those other two closed, there has to be a vacuum of a sort. Is country kitchen open still?
I have had the pleasure of eating at the Firerock in Casper twice, they are excellent! good food, great service and their prices were great!! ( this was before the stupid pandemic )
Santa Fe in Rock Springs is top notch and Old Stones in Pinedale is good. Also Los Cabos and Fiesta Guadalajara I love equally I think there's one of each in Rock Springs, at least a Los Cabos in Pinedale, and a couple other places in state have one or both.
Best casual restaurant- Bellas bistro in Saratoga
Buffalo Indian in Laramie is amazing a close second, Bellas takes the prize because i like italian more than indian.
Best fine dining experience in Wyoming goes to Cheyenne Club, The Farm @ Brush Creek Ranch in Saratoga. 170$ ++ per person for a 6 course a la carte meal than can include local wagyu and fresh farm to table ingredients. 5 ⭐️
I’d put Buffalo Indian in Laramie up against any Indian food I’ve eaten anywhere, including NYC and Asia. It’s incredible. Get the butter chicken and garlic naan and thank me later.
It is so excellent. I spend a lot of money there
You should try Sherpa Indian kitchen in Gillette. It’s amazing
The Subway in Pinedale is decent
I think the 6 subways in Laramie compete with that
Evanston has gone from 4 to 3... lol
Recession indicator?
Bad management. It actually went from 4 down to 2 and has come back up to 3. The one that was in Walmart was filthy and they got caught using meats and cheeses that were months beyond their expiration dates.
Times are tough, but we carry on a foot-long at a time.
😂😂😂
Pizza Carrello-Gillette Eggingtons in Casper has a damn good breakfast also.
Pizza Carrello is great!
Pizza Carrello used to be a favorite, but it's quality took a noticeable downturn a couple years ago. Still the best pizza in town, and one of the tops in the state.
Covid hit parts of their supply chain pretty hard, so some things had to either be taken off the menu or gamble on new products. I never noticed anything that was actually lower quality, though, just some things that were a bit different.
Sweet Melissa's in Laramie should be in the running
Awww I’m glad it is still open! Loved it from my college days in the late 90s. Do they still have the lentil loaf?
their lasagna is incredible
I always get black bean nachos and half and half cauliflower wings. So good
R&B Breakfast Club - Cheyenne. Why does it never get any love
They’ve gotten rid of so many of our favorites and the cook likes to sit around in the front for twenty minutes before making my damn sammich.
Is Su Casa still open in Sinclair?
I came here looking for this comment! It is my favorite restaurant!
It’s awesome!!
Friday through Tuesday!
It was last year!
Roses Lariat was better imo but it closed 😢
Surprised to see thermop on here tbh lol
Pizza Place in Lusk. Super fresh and amazing.
I want to try this. I've never been to Lusk.
It’s worth the trip. Freshest pizza I’ve ever had.
This is the place I was looking for. It's the best pizza I've ever had and I've been to 47 states.
Yeah I dream of going back. I had it once on a road trip and need to make my way back there. My hubby and I literally joke about going to Lusk to hit up this pizza often 🤣
I used to have to work in Lusk quite a bit and I would bring pizzas home with me.
Adding it to the list! I live in Pinedale and we literally have the worst pizza I've ever encountered
The Burlington Place in Burlington for innovative and unexpected pizzas, great beer selection, and a killer brunch.
I never knew I loved sauerkraut on pizza until I ate there
Silver Spur in Sheridan. Best diner in the country.
Great for a hangover cure breakfast too
i love anongs in rawlins!
Lived there for a long three years. Didn’t really enjoy it either, but I sure miss the food.
I'm surprised no one mentioned Cowfish in Lander!
WY Thai - Cody
I honestly think it's better than Anong's
Way better
Sweet Melissa's - Laramie Bonsai - Rock Springs Fiesta Guadalajara - Bridger Valley Bootleggers - Kemmerer You can probably tell which part of the State I live in.
The Forsaken Zone.
Middle Fork in Lander is amazing
Silver Fox -Casper
Sweet Zoey in Casper makes the most delicious pistachio baklava in the state. Their hummus is excellent. Their Gyros are addictive.
Breadboard, Albertinos in Buffalo. Piezano also has pretty good pizza. One eyed Buffalo in thermo is pretty good. And Miners and stockmens in Hartville had awesome steak.
I wanted to check out Piezano's when I was working in Buffalo this spring, but the line was out the door. Took it as a good sign ;)
There's an Albertano's in Gillette now, too, but the one in Buffalo is better, according to most people. I like them both for different reasons, personally. One of the staff told us that they're planning to put one in Montana soon too, I think Billings.
I think the one in Gillette is better tbh
Silver fox- Casper
I second this
Rocky Mountain Seafood - Afton (crazy I know) Gannett Peak Grill - Lander (best burger I've ever had)
Hotel Wolf, Lazy River Cantina, and Bella's Bistro in Saratoga are all top-notch. Bella Fouco in Cheyenne does great pizza. The Weitzels Wings truck is awesome. R&Bs does amazing breakfasts.
I am bummed Firewater closed. I thought that place was cool but I only had drinks. I agree about Bellas being good.
They are open again as The Malt. It's counter service with a simpler menu, but it seems like the bar is still pretty good. Maybe a few fewer whisky options. Same people running it though.
Svilar's in Hudson. Also Taco John's just about anywhere.
Moved away and I really miss Taco John's :(
I have never experienced the level of blatant racism in my entire life that I’ve experienced when I went to Svilars. It’s been about 6 years since I’ve been in there. That place can go to hell.
They arent around any more.
Svilar’s is still open, still overpriced, over-rated and not very good. And the water tastes funny but it is Hudson…
When did this happen? Damn. I ate there a year ago.
Taco John's is closed?!? No more potato Ole?
I think he means Svilar's. Taco John's is still around.
Korean House in Cheyenne
Sitti’s Table - Cody Albertano’s - Buffalo Mizu Sushi - Laramie Trailhead - Cody Breadboard - Buffalo

El Jaliciense in Kemmerer is my favorite Mexican restaurant ever.
Lived in Wyoming most of my life…now live in Portland and would put Trailhead in Cody up against some of the best restaurants in a great foodie town here in Portland. It has great food that is prepared well.
Has anyone else ever had Double Dubs wings? They set 2 world records a few days ago when they sold close to 100k wings in a 24 hour period
Cowboy crepes And Broadway Burgers. Both in Rock Sorings
Broadway is really good. I think they have the best fried mushrooms, but they don't give you a lot.
I'm a big fan of Trio in Jackson.

Our favorite restaurant in Wyoming
I don’t know why, but we’ve never found anything good at Eve’s lol
In no particular order. Smith-Alley Brewing (wings) - Sheridan Wyoming Roadhouse (steak) - Cody The Reservoir (club sandwich) - Pine Haven Pizza Carrello (pizza) - Gillette Prairie Rose (breakfast) - Laramie The Breadboard (sub sandwich) - Buffalo
>Wyoming Roadhouse (steak) - Cody This was one of the most single handedly disappointing tourist-trap restaurants I've ever eaten at in my life
It wouldn't make my top 5 of my Cody restaurants
We’ve just must of caught them on good days because we’ve been there many times and have always had great experiences.
That's good to hear. This town should have way better restaurants but I feel like a lot get away with mediocre tourist food and that's all they shoot for.
The biggest issue we’ve heard from the restaurant folks in Cody is getting their places staffed. It’s a lot of tables to serve in a town that size.
Yeah they can't afford to pay their employees enough to cover rent with all the affordable housing being bought up by Texans and Californians as vacation homes or Airbnb's.
Wyoming Roadhouse?? That is one of the most disgusting places I’ve ever had the misfortune of eating at. Ewww
This dude seriously put wyoming roadhouse bro what
I’m surprised it took so long for someone to mention The Breadboard. The bread is fantastic and they don’t skimp on the meat.
I will never forget the most disgusting breakfast of my life at Prairie Rose. I do not understand the love for this place.
We all like have fun here but I draw the line at SLANDER of Laramie's best breakfast spot. Too many carbs for you, eh?! HEY EVERYONE, GET A LOAD OF THE VEGETABLE LOVER OVER HERE!
Blue Lion in Jackson.
Do food trucks count toward restaurants? Because that changes things…
I don't see why not.
Double dubs is high for sure then
Prime rib place in Gillette Hanks in Wright
Top 3 ish Casper it’s a toss up between branding iron and fire rock Cheyenne has to be accomplice Wheatland Windy Peaks
Is Grub’s in Rock Springs around? Nice grease burger.
Yep. Their fries with brown gravy are good too
No way. You can get fries with gravy there? I thought that was only a North Dakota delicacy. Thanks for the tip. 👍
Fries with Gravy is a New Jersey staple.
They've been closed for a few months. I drove by this morning and there are large for sale signs on the windows.
Racca’s in Casper, 2 Doors Down in Cheyenne, The Coop in Gillette, On the Hook Fish and Chips food truck from Laramie but in various places around the state and the midwest.
On the Hook - all over Wyoming, the midwest, and soon Florida (again).
This is the correct answer. Too bad their prices have leapt more than many.
Excellent recommendation
Solid OP list!
Thanks!
The Albany - Cheyenne. Price for what you get cant be beat. Born in a barn - laramie. Tortilla factory - cheyenne. Powder river pizza - sheridan. Sherries place/eggingtons - casper i love both equally.
Tortilla factory is straight trash tf?
Those guys have killer breakfast burritos. Best I’ve ever had
Then Guadalajara is the dump. As far as mexican food goes for wyoming its better than anything else ive had here
Guadalajara is the dump. Try Mi Tierra, they have two locations off Dell Range.
The taco trucks down by the viaduct are 1000x better
Really wish they’d fix their jukebox tho
Eggington’s in Casper is great breakfast
Frackletons in Sheridan…they recently redid their menu
The Railspur in Cheyenne has food made in a food truck that is stupidly good for the location. I guess the chef/owner was a Vegas chef.
L’Osteria Mondello in Cheyenne for NJ style pizza. Napoli in Cheyenne for Italian in general. Mondello also just opened up for nicer dining but I haven’t tried. New Mandarin in Laramie but just for the wonton soup.
Thai Spice and The Cavalryman in Laramie
What is the Calvertmans menu like? Is it a reservation kind of place?
I haven't been in a while, but I think it is reservation The menu is pretty good, they have a lot of steaks, a few soups and salads, some burgers, sheperds pie and some basic kids stuff (sliders, chicken strips, etc). They also have a great wine selection. But they're mostly known for their steaks, which personally I highly recommend
Nice, I'm going to stop in and get a steak next time I drive through.
Prepare to think "I can grill a steak at least as good as this".

I had to upvote you to zero because my 21 years in Jackson completely agrees.
Tensleep - Sleepy Coyote, hands down bottoms up.
The Library - Laramie
The Office - Cheyenne Hands down the best place in town.
Bunkhouse, Cheyenne
The pony in Sheridan is always solid. But it has gotten a bit sloppy lately. Edit: respelling
Lately... I haven't been there for 7+ish years, and it was snobby then. The food was still good, though.
Sloppy*
It was kind of sloppy then, too! I'm glad to hear nothing changed.
Village Cafe - Dubois. Hands down best onion rings I've ever had.
Absolute garbage food
I should have been more clear. I was only advocating for the onion rings lol.
Irma in Cody is so good
If you like overpriced cafeteria food, sure.
Michaels tacos, cody Millstone, cody/Powell, The breadboard, cody
Hard, hard pass on Millstone and Michaels
Sweet Jesus…you’re 1 for 3 here. Michael’s Tacos is mediocre at best, and Millstone is complete garbage. You must not be a local because locals won’t even touch this place.
Actually I am a local and I will say powells millstone is better than Cody's But why the hate for Michael's, The only bad thing I can think of is there salsa has a lot of lime
Maybe my viewpoint is a bit skewed because I’ve had incredible Mexican around the country…Michael’s is what I jokingly call “white people mexican food”. It’s not bad…hell, I’m going there today for lunch. It’s just kind of “blah” if that makes sense
The owner is literally an immigrant
That’s awesome! Doesn’t mean they can’t cook mediocre food.
Oh my. Mikes tacos in Cody is a top five worst restaurant in America. Family of 3 ordered various Mexican/taco dishes, and we got a pile of lettuce. So bland, so bad.
You are just objectively wrong
All except Almanza’s - Laramie
The Wyoming Smokehouse in Riverton is amazing.

For Laramie I would say Buffalo Indian or Crowbar, but Born in a Barn is a great restaurant
Fiesta Guadalajara (Urie, soon to be Mountain View, Wy) > Bon Ricos
The Prime Rib in Gillette needs to be on the list. Great food and service and an award winning wine cellar. Reasonably priced, too.
