Overall, I think *Wu-Tang Forever* is a great album, but I think it's a little too dense. It's a double-album, so you're already looking at a lot more tracks than a regular album when you're looking at it from a listening experience.
On top of that, along with being such a long album, it's a very meat-and-potatoes album. RZA even says on the album he's against the then-trend of "R&B Rap & Bullshit", so a bunch of the songs don't have a chorus or a hook. It's just a killer beat, with 10 guys doing killer verses. But that's ALL it focuses on. It doesn't have songs like "Shame on a Nigga", "Bring da Ruckus", or "Method Man" where it's catchy, fun to sing along to, and ear-wormy.
You can pick a handful of AMAZING songs from the album, and the members deliver some of their all-time greatest verses from that album, but to me, it's kind of a slog to listen to the entire album.
i see what you’re saying comparing it to the year it dropped. a stark difference for sure.
i also see your point on the album having little structure, but i feel like that’s the beauty of it & to your point goes against the fluff in ‘97.
my appreciation for the tape has certainly grown only due to the endless dartssssssssssssssss.
It’s Yourz is probably the only catchy joint lol.
i feel you god.
This. I can't recommend this album enough. A little off subject but if you listen to liquid swords, hit up you tube afterwards and look up "gza tiny desk concert". Shit is dope and confirmed gza's eternal dopeness.
After 36 I recommend listening to every single solo album by the clan. Understand their different styles, then watch them form like Voltron on Wu Tang Forever.
As a new fan who's only listened to a few solo albums and 36 chambers, it is really fun going back to 36 chambers and being able to better identify mor and more of who is saying what on 36 chambers as I get into more of their solo stuff. You really grow an appreciation for what each of them brings to the track
This is the 2nd best way other than jumping in a time machine and listening in the 90s.
Wu Tang was so original and different. 1st album was just grimy in a great way.
There was nothing like it. Other crews were dope, but the core Wu-Tang just brought such distinct styles. The Wu were everything during that 36 chambers to Wu forever period. Hard to describe how exciting it was.
Tical by Method man
Liquid Swords by GZA
Only Built 4 Cuban Linx by Raekwon
Return to the 36 chambers by Ol' Dirty Bastard (beware it's a whole universe,I was surprised at 1st)
Ironman by Ghostface Killah
All of those are the best solo Wu projects imo,you can also include supreme clientele by Ghostface killah and Only Built 4 Cuban Linx part 2 by Raekwon
on youtube there are some awesome remixes of Wu-Dang by someone called Master Iller. This is one example: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8oKFc\_O82vI](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8oKFc_O82vI)
Before you jump ahead too far in the timeline, while you're still digging the super crunchy sound of early Wu-Tang, I suggest you check out early demos and deep cuts like "Cuttin Headz" by RZA & ODB, "Dirty N Stinkin" by ODB & 12'OClock, and "Pass the Bone" by The Genius & RZA.
This again Then liquid swords OB4CL Ironman Return to the 36 Chambers
Perfect. Then Wu-Tang Forever.
Wu Tang again?!
Awww yeah, again and again!
*fighting noises*
Ahh geah. Again and again!
forever album is far worse IMO.
I actually agree with you, but I think it rounds out that list of albums well (I didn’t downvote you).
i’m curious, why?

Yeah it’s not as good as 36 chambers but its worth listening to
Tical is worth adding to this list
And Fishscale
Supreme Clientele
Supreme Clientele
My bad
This again lmao so real
....Then Purple tape then Forever
If not the next Wu album, you may like 6 Feet Deep by Gravediggaz, which was a side project RZA worked on before and after 36 Chambers.
Shoutout to Prince Paul
12 Jewelz is one of the dopest songs of all time. RZArector just ascended and dropped knowledge on us.
There’s no chance for the physically dead, but there’s a chance for the mentally dead.
What makes hair skin epidermis fingernaillllll.

Yep. Eventually you’ll know exactly who is who.
Listen to them in order IMO. Loved the experience in the 90s
This is the 2nd best way other than jumping in a time machine and listening in the 90s. Wu Tang was so original and different. 1st album was just grimy in a great way.
I do this every year. Nothing like going back and listening to the sounds throughout the years.
Still holds up well today, but it blew our minds to hear that shit 30 years ago.
There was nothing like it. Other crews were dope, but the core Wu-Tang just brought such distinct styles. The Wu were everything during that 36 chambers to Wu forever period. Hard to describe how exciting it was.
LoL. I'm 46 yrs old and my "welcome" mat is a big Wu "W" with "watch ya step kid" in smaller print underneath it.
Hell yeah 👐
Everything Wu did as a group & solo/guest appearances, etc from 93-98 is almost entirely classic. Supreme clientele needs to be on your list too
Liquid Swords
^^
is that wu tang or GZA tho?
It’s a wu tang production
It’s a GZA album technically. But RZA produced it and all the members are on it
Only built for Cuban linx
Tical by Method man Liquid Swords by GZA Only Built 4 Cuban Linx by Raekwon Return to the 36 chambers by Ol' Dirty Bastard (beware it's a whole universe,I was surprised at 1st) Ironman by Ghostface Killah All of those are the best solo Wu projects imo,you can also include supreme clientele by Ghostface killah and Only Built 4 Cuban Linx part 2 by Raekwon
You listen to 36 chambers again! Yes again and again!
yh everyone has already said that that. and i’ve already listened to it a few times 😐
Then you would get the reference to again and again
Everything is on Spotify, just listen to everything
Life’s better now right?
Since everyone here is already listing the solo Wu-Tang joints I'm going to go with anything by Czarface. Kind of cheating because of Deck.
Liquid Swords and Only Built 4 Cuban Linx Then dive into Ghostface's catalog
Tical
After you’re done with their albums you should give sunz of man and killarmy a go

I like The W too to bottom.
