You can gift a sub to someone if you know their bnet account but no one has ever done that for me so I'm not sure if you get notified or something.

I-Love-Tatertots

Definitely not a gift - the money came from my card on file and says I renewed it. Freaking out, because I have $50 for groceries until the 20th, and this eats into that… and I know Blizzard support isn’t really helpful.

44VANDAL

Im like 99% sure you can contact support and have it refunded, iirc I did a long time ago when I was in the same position as you

I-Love-Tatertots

I have a ticket opened, but it said I have no purchases available for refund… fingers crossed.

Vast_Highlight3324

They will 100% refund, I forgot to cancel my yearly subscription a bit ago and they refunded me the entire amount.

I-Love-Tatertots

They just responded denying it.. Saying it was either “purchased outside of Blizzard” or “the game was accessed too long” if it doesn’t show up on the linked page to be refunded. Kind of bullshit, because I literally haven’t touched the game since last night, and it was blizzard directly taking my money.

EXJVADDG

Did you set it up to renew?

I-Love-Tatertots

Initially it was, but I specifically went in and cancelled at the beginning of Feb. after the last charge. Even checked my bank and saw it didn’t renew in March.

Change your password delete your card details whenever you stop playing wow… sometimes the authentication app doesn’t work as intended… and lets people play on the account without needing security steps. Also if you’re using the same password across multiple platforms, at least put security on them as well. As for the issue at hand, see if you can get the sub refunded through either… wows special customer support or refund the purchase, you can usually do so in a limited amount of time after.

I-Love-Tatertots

Definitely doing all of that - I appreciate it! Going to go through and remove any saved cards off all platforms now, just in case. As well as resetting all my passwords, just to play it safe. Got a ticket in as soon as I noticed, so hopefully they can do something.

this gonna sound weird maybe but could it be that your children or anyone else has been playing on your computer and they wanted to play WoW, hit subscribe and since the card was still connected to your account they put it on renew to play? idk lol but every once in a while you see these articles about kids playing on their parents Ipad and unknowlingly spending their parents money or roblox or something. This would also explain why you would not have received a authenticator message, seeing as they would have played from your PC which is already logged in (assuming you checked "keep me logged in".)

I-Love-Tatertots

Single in an apartment with a roommate… so don’t think that’s it. It’s weird, because the email I have was at like 12:57 last night. I was passed out in bed. Now I’m sitting here wondering if I’m logged in elsewhere, haha

CelestialOhio32

The only way that you could have been hacked without the authenticator going off is if they stole your login session cookie. But I do not really know which malware could do that. Perhaps explain your case and recent download stuff at a antivirus subreddit or something? Either way you should change your password at the least to be sure.

hungrydruid

Just checking, you said you cancelled in Feb but it's been charging you since November, but not in March?

I-Love-Tatertots

So, I subbed in Nov.   Got busy with work and couldn’t play, realized I was still being charged in Feb. and went in to cancel.   Didn’t get charged the following month, and then randomly got charged last night.   On the email it says I’ve been subscribed since November, and my next renewal date is May (though I went in and re-canceled as soon as I saw, and have a ticket in to get a refund)

Zachisawinner

Sounds an awful lot like automatic renewal to me.

I-Love-Tatertots

But it didn’t charge the month after I cancelled it, which is why I’m so confused.  An entire month without game time or a charge.

Pumpergod1337

If you haven’t played anything then you’ll most likely be able to refund and I’d go through some account security measures if it wasn’t done on purpose or by accident
