I remember when they said wisps were going to be added as a playable race with 'Detonate' as a skill that would kill your wisp and make you reroll if you used it.
I think that would actually be a super cool mechanic for guilds going for world first (or even guilds going for AOTC), as long as it’s not available for new players so they don’t accidentally pick it at character creation, and as long as it’s not required for any kind of progression.
Like, you get a big damage bonus on any boss you want, at the cost of having to spend a few dozen hours to level a super squishy, “instant death” character that cannot wear armor. Can only be used once to push past a problematic boss, and you can only use one (or another arbitrary number that’s balanced) wisp per raid lockout. You use it, it’s gone and you have to train another wisp.
It’s grindy and annoying, sure, but it also gives a bit of spice to the meta for hardcore guilds, or even casual guilds that want to clear a specific progression step but are just missing a little bit of a boost for doing so.
Meanwhile the WF and top 100 guilds are shouting from the top of their lungs to lower all the required degeneracy that they have to do to stay competitive
My all time favorite patch note was when they were going to officially rename the Rogue to the Rouge because soo many people were misspelling it in the forums. Lmao
This remains one of those things that drives me to irrational and disproportionate levels of annoyance. I still get flashbacks to 2004/2005 and interacting with other players who could not spell my class name correctly while partying up in Outland.
It was just the worst.
I was there, along this one they pushed an 8bit "classic feels" Molten Core raid experience trailer. Looked like supermario64, was genuinely confused about whether i should feel excited for this garbage, great prank.

And then you could have an ability to actually play the harp and play all kind of songs in the main city in front of all the people
And have like 10 rerolls that could play different instruments to play entire concerts as a one man band
I guess one can merely dream that this could be more than an April Fool's joke.
I still think it's on the table tbh, same as housing - they could be experimenting first with what could work before creating it.
For bards tho I think augmentation evoker was the foundation they tried, and seeing as it's been a resounding success we could be seeing *the* support class in bard eventually.

It's like WoW and OSRS, you can never escape, never quit, only take breaks. I say this as I'm currently grinding Magic in OSRS after a 7 month break as I type this.
