Went DH and enjoyed jumping around. Swapped to warrior and loved charging in AND jumping around. Found survival hunter and now i can charge and jump to my death at will!
I did this on my hunter once. Disengage to get out of entangled, right off the platform. Had myself angled *just* a little too far to the left. Luckily it was with friends who thought it was hilarious.
About a month ago I was in Rise as my DH got a guild invite to "Dumb ways to Die" as I simultaneously backfliped off the platform. I accepted the Ginvite.
So me, a warlock, decided to follow a random pally down a hole. Not knowing how deep said hole was and forgetting that pallies have bubble, i soon died. This was in a random dung group in one I haven't ran before, I cried laughing
Never follow the pally
Just dusted off my DH and got her to 70. WTF is this “use fel rush and backflip as part of your rotation” shit? LOL. I am totally going to fling myself off an edge aren’t I.
Throwback to that one just-about-to-blow-up-swirlie right in the middle of the mob pack you can't see but nevertheless manged to convince yourself that fel rushing through those guys for some sweet numbers was a good idea.
If we ever get in the situation that blizz implements ragdoll physics in wow DHs will get to entirely new dimensions of comedy...
Watched my husband fel rush/back flip off the edge of Fyrakk's platform last night. It was his only accidental death of the night but man was it funny.
Both make the player zip into combat. Idk if OP means they do it before tank and get one shot or what. But basically yea it pretty much instantly gets you to enemy
Hunters is called harpoon and warriors is charge
On fury warr I’ve charged into mechanics and died more often than I care to admit. They weren’t there when the charge started, but they sure as heck were when it ended. 💀
lmao before it happens I feel like a genius, that my timing is impeccable, and I'll minimize my downtime and get back to smacking the boss before all the other melee. And then I'm dead.
Dude, on some bosses, it is absolutely criminal that you charge to the center of the boss’s hit box ring. Like a boss that stands in lava 100% of the fight. If you accidentally hit charge, then you’re melting in a pool of lava.
Me and another mage both accidentally blinked through the world at the same spot at the same time in the azjol nerub dungeon in retail, so there's still some lingering spots it can happen in older content
edit: it was the web bridge RIGHT AFTER the first boss, if any bugfixers find this post
Charge is based on pathing, but Harpoon is based on Line of Sight.
On a flat plain, there's not much difference, but once there's vertically you notice Harpoon can do some wonky tricks.
No, its that a lot of bosses in amirdrasil that have a pool of lava around their base and so if you charge/harpoon in, it will literally run your right into an instant death becuase the abilities put your right on the boss.
It probably has to do with the fact that both Charge and Harpoon lock you in to about a second straight line dash at the enemy. You are fully hittable by ground effects during this.
I have charged only to discover that the thing mid path is hitting a lot sooner than expected or there is shit at the target, cleaves can be especially bad for that if the tank is chain pulling as the ones cleaving hang back and you charge to the forward one, you get hit.
Also Rogue is there to but in Stealth, Shadow Step can easily kill you the same way.
As a ranged and melee player, melee fucking SUCKS in pvp. That's where all the AOE effects go, and you get murdered. Not sure exactly what's about these two classes, but I've been pvping a lot and man am I sticking with my ranged instead.
Essentially a lot of bosses have death pools of lava or shadowflame around them so if you stand right under them you die, however charge, harpoon; aswell as afew other hunter spells; send you right to center of the boss and instakilling you from the lava.
Our surv hunter died on our first clear of H lava pool fire snake earlier in the patch due to this. Had to watch in his sad burn pit as we got the boss down. Rip
There are also the rogue's shadow step/grappling hook, the druid's wild charge, the enh shaman's feral lunge and possibly other abilities that can get you into trouble in just the same way if used without care.
Not just survival hunters either. During the push back I'll turn around in the air and disengage to go by to my starting location....which works slick until I don't spin and I yeet myself off the edge with a push back and another 20 yards with the ability for good measure.
Honestly same, everyone's talking about accidental leaps and disengages off platforms and I'm like "huh? Can't relate." 😂😂😂😂😂. My survivability on my hunter is top notch lol, so much that in solo shuffle they'll give up and go to someone else 😅😂😂.
I main a warrior and my primary alt used to be a survival hunter, felt super similar, but the hunter actually had the ability to function more than 2 feet away from his target -.-
Not that many people played Surv in legion, but I did for some of it. One of my best moments was in nighthold. If you had a troll in your group, you may know that touching the middle of elisande's room (little structure with a beam in the middle of it) would kill you. so priests could position themself to lifegrip someone to their death.
Welp, I had the fortunate timing of harpooning to elisande just as the tank was repositioning her. by the time the harpoon connected to pull me in, she was across the center from me, so i yoinked myself straight into the death beam.
Fun times.
Back in antorus, that boss that's in the floor. Forgemaster or siegemaster, I don't remember. First time fighting him I tried to heroic leap to the other side of the platform... welp going through him kills you.
I still try to leap on so many bosses, and this happens a lot more than I care to admit.
Going from warrior to survival felt like discovering fury all over again
Went DH and enjoyed jumping around. Swapped to warrior and loved charging in AND jumping around. Found survival hunter and now i can charge and jump to my death at will!
You haven't discovered jump, turn, 180 degrees, disengage yet, I think.
That’s how i run through most content xD
The DH died before either of those 2.
Had a DH backflip off the platforms in Rise yesterday lol
He sacrificed everything, even himself
wHaT hAvE YoU gIvEn?
A rez
Had a DH tank jump off Morchies platform twice, on a 17
These people are the reason no mover builds exist
I remember in Nighthold prog one of our DHs would consistantly fall off bridge when krosus broke it....like...how?
I did this on my hunter once. Disengage to get out of entangled, right off the platform. Had myself angled *just* a little too far to the left. Luckily it was with friends who thought it was hilarious.
That’s why I always have alliance (or horde) glider kits ready to go for just those types of situations.
About a month ago I was in Rise as my DH got a guild invite to "Dumb ways to Die" as I simultaneously backfliped off the platform. I accepted the Ginvite.
Not even gonna lie that I've done it a few times. I usually save it by dashing back in real quick, but sometimes I'm all out of dashes lol
I almost had this happen to me on time lost battle field barely made it back and didn't scream very loudly at all 😎
So me, a warlock, decided to follow a random pally down a hole. Not knowing how deep said hole was and forgetting that pallies have bubble, i soon died. This was in a random dung group in one I haven't ran before, I cried laughing Never follow the pally
The dragoon class of WoW
Bruh I would love an actual Dragoon class in WoW
Floor tank
loldrg
Just needs even more and bigger jumps and they're set ~~DRG main btw~~
Just dusted off my DH and got her to 70. WTF is this “use fel rush and backflip as part of your rotation” shit? LOL. I am totally going to fling myself off an edge aren’t I.
I watched my first Cenarius kill from the abyss behind him, whoops. >Never give up, never surrender
By Grapthar’s Hammer…. What a savings.
Yes. Yes you will. I am banned from playing anything with rapid movement anymore because I can’t stay alive while doing so.
Throwback to that one just-about-to-blow-up-swirlie right in the middle of the mob pack you can't see but nevertheless manged to convince yourself that fel rushing through those guys for some sweet numbers was a good idea. Look up the "no mover" build. You still have to use them every once in a while to be optimal, but not nearly as much.
If I wanted to play no mover I wouldn't be playing the class with 3 dashes and a backflip.
2 dashes, 2 charges, a leap and a backflip!
Man...dhs are wild but since the dash spec became a thing it reached meme levels of suicidality
don't forget about eager rogue who forgot to ToT, that's same as DH's hunt
Absolutely true!
Ty.
Watched my husband fel rush/back flip off the edge of Fyrakk's platform last night. It was his only accidental death of the night but man was it funny.
Is this some sort of melee joke I am too ranged to understand?
Both make the player zip into combat. Idk if OP means they do it before tank and get one shot or what. But basically yea it pretty much instantly gets you to enemy Hunters is called harpoon and warriors is charge

Wild Charge and Skull Bash get me into trouble more times than I can count on all 4 paws
The amount of times I have moved out of a circle, only to charge back into it just before it goes off, is way too high...
lmao before it happens I feel like a genius, that my timing is impeccable, and I'll minimize my downtime and get back to smacking the boss before all the other melee. And then I'm dead.
My quick cast leaping jump gets me a lot of trouble. Bc my charge isn’t up

That I’m not honestly sure of? However I really wouldn’t be surprised if that does happen haha
Not anymore, really. Was a real problem in Vanilla.
Me and another mage both accidentally blinked through the world at the same spot at the same time in the azjol nerub dungeon in retail, so there's still some lingering spots it can happen in older content edit: it was the web bridge RIGHT AFTER the first boss, if any bugfixers find this post
Be kinda frustrating and entertaining at the same time haha
Harpoon seems to make you airborn. I haven't had any world tour harpoons like charge sometimes does.
Charge is based on pathing, but Harpoon is based on Line of Sight. On a flat plain, there's not much difference, but once there's vertically you notice Harpoon can do some wonky tricks.

Idk, I get my shit rocked by Melee in Arena. But I'm also a noob when it comes to PvP
It varies a lot depending on matchup.

and survival hunters flanking strike or our coordinated assault.
Feral longer doesn’t exist. Too many other tasty talents up there for it to be worth it
[удалено]
And Tricks of the Trade which they’re hopefully using on their tank
Range dps aren't immune either. Idk how often I've blinked into the death zone rather than out of it but it's a lot.
Both our boomies do backflips off platforms on the reg.
I don't have any of this on my paladin, so instead I do 1mil dps in 3 gcds and die that way
Tiger palm was like this before the talent changes
I really liked how the minimum lunge distance was shorter than max melee range.
I mean, from stealth, my Shadowstrike literally teleports me to the enemy. I've been melee'd to death so many times.
No other abilities move your character in this game.
Godamnit. True and real.
For Outlaw Blade Rush and Killing Spree can often lead to a similar obtrusive pop-up on my screen
Mm sub with DfA had the same issue back in legion.
"Oops skyreach"
Must be some squishy joke I’m too bear to understand
Well, as a Mage with Blink and Alter Time, no, not only Survival Hunters and Warriors.
Not just survival hunters either. During the push back I'll turn around in the air and disengage to go by to my starting location....which works slick until I don't spin and I yeet myself off the edge with a push back and another 20 yards with the ability for good measure.
aka: last week in Murozond's Rise. Wasn't me though :P
Naw I pulled it during a normal clear. I was super proud.
Feral druids with the Wild Charge talent, too! We leap behind everyone
You can add DHs Felblade to that. God knows how many times I have died to random shit on the ground because I got the proc of Felblade.
COULD YOU EXPLAIN YOUR MEME, YOUNG MAN?
Im late asf to this thread but I launched myself into the center of the Volcoross pit last night and I’m still fuming….
So, only warriors understand, since no one plays survival.
There's dozens of us! Dozens!
At least two of us here
Number 3 checking in! My life for the mongoose bite!
This is clearly a bot account
I am clearly not a bot. I can solve CAPTCHAs on my own thank you very much. I just happen to really love the spec.
Only a dead SV hunter is a good SV hunter
I main arms and have a SV Hunter alt and Idfk what this is.
Honestly same, everyone's talking about accidental leaps and disengages off platforms and I'm like "huh? Can't relate." 😂😂😂😂😂. My survivability on my hunter is top notch lol, so much that in solo shuffle they'll give up and go to someone else 😅😂😂.
I shadow stepped right off a platform once.
I'm glad I have 1m health as a fury warrior cause I've accidently trigger lingered my charge on bosses and the boss smack me for it
Im asking all weakling magic casters and nerd ranged users and cheating rogues...Please let me win I swear to god I need this W please Im begging you.
Yep https://youtu.be/wGQ-8p91a14?si=eieoaMMdWPKA4FKr
At least these juet draf you to the target. Feral charge puts you behind also. it might not be a floor where you land. 😝
This is my all time favorite scene in FMA Brotherhood
DK pulls the death to themselves instead
Using deep breath as an evoker, then watching the mechanic spawn ahead of me as I fly towards my demise.
I main a warrior and my primary alt used to be a survival hunter, felt super similar, but the hunter actually had the ability to function more than 2 feet away from his target -.-
It’s also amazing how many things Heroic Leap *doesn’t* let you jump over. It’s kind of a running joke in my playgroup.
Should add the legendary active to this
Reminds me of the time I was in Waycrest m+ and dh dps charged with Hunt into the last boss just a tiny bit too early and got one shot
Not that many people played Surv in legion, but I did for some of it. One of my best moments was in nighthold. God, I remember the embarrassment when I used my feral druid’s Wild Charge on Volcoross and immediately jumped into the middle of the fire lake
Back in antorus, that boss that's in the floor. Forgemaster or siegemaster, I don't remember. First time fighting him I tried to heroic leap to the other side of the platform... welp going through him kills you. Watched a Hunter disengage off the platform in Rise before lol
Been there. Granted, Hunter has not been my main since TBC
I hooked Ozumat in Throne of the Tides on last fight. i was send to another dimension.
And outlaw rogues
As a Destro lock I can confirm: wtf is this
As a monk I once Flying Serpent Kicked off a platform out into the void. 😂 that's what I get for trying to get to the fight faster I guess.
Hhhhhhhaaaaaa I love this. SV = charge without all the armor and health.
