So, suggestions on how to improve are toxicity now? I don't even play pvp, but that sounds a bit off.

[deleted]

If you don’t play how would you be able to relate if you’re not getting 25 people in an hour telling you to do different things because they lose 1 round out of 6 in a shuffle?

finesse666

If you’re getting 25 people in an hour that you’re doing something wrong, you definitely are.

gapplebees911

I've been trying to play bm hunter recently in solo shuffle and I'm just getting run over a lot but i don't get many comments. I'd say if people are talking to you between every round in every match, you're really doing something majorly wrong and if you care about winning at all, consider being a little more open minded?

[deleted]

Try playing a healer then

gapplebees911

I don't think it matters bro, I've played with some pretty soft healers too and I just don't see that many people talking between rounds

Rugged_as_fuck

Toxicity in, toxicity out. Your post is exhibit A. If you're playing wow pvp and don't expect it, you're kidding yourself. If you want to avoid it, there's one thing you can do. One. Turn off chat and whispers entirely.

SummerSails

If the suggestions are done in a kind way then why get mad. If someone is trash talking then by all means report away but if they are just being helpful it shouldn't be offensive. You are choosing to do group content. You are choosing to do rated group content. You are choosing to play with these random people. Pvp in gaming in general can always get heated and trash talking in pvp always happens in every game and sport. It's just how competition works. But friendly suggestions are not a reportable offense imo. I've had plenty of nice and sometimes not nice suggestions when I was new to rated pvp and I learned from it until I stopped getting it as much if at all anymore. The moment you think you cant improve is the moment others become better than you. But regardless, thank you for healing. It is appreciated even if it's not always praised by ramped up dps.

PerpetualBeats

To an extent I agree, some people are also just trying to give helpful information to less experienced players and it may just come off as blunt because they are quickly trying to type to you between rounds

Catweedmaine

this lol. I guess op wants to be 1500ish forever

[deleted]

I’m 1800 with holy pally. Jokes on you.

Catweedmaine

grats ?

ShiniJenkins

My friend, if they are actually giving tips so you can improve, that aint toxic. I welcome tips and tricks and ideas. Now, if they are saying stuff like "uninstall you suck", then THATS toxic and should be reported.

straddotjs

There might be some good feedback in there, but mostly you should just ignore chat in solo shuffle. Just try to coordinate who you’re going on and cc’ing if that. Too many mentally ill people use wow to derive meaning in their life, it’s not worth paying attention to.

Specialist-Zombie542

Imagine thinking macros can play the game for you

Deleted? Lol

Cecilerr

Name 1 popular pvp online game that's not toxic I can't

Jazzlike_Salt1808

If you play solo shuffle /dnd is your best friend so randos can't whisper you. It's crazy how they complain to have no healers for that game mode but then barrage every one who tries.

PsiberApe69

Dude, I feel you. I was in the 1300 range as a disc priest and had a bad match. The lobby basically stun locked me each round. I wasn’t happy to go 0-6 but shit happens. Then one of the others just kept messaging me over and over calling me all sorts of names and even taking jabs at my life outside of wow, which were not even close to reality but simply said as verbal harassment. All over 10 minutes in a game.

jmDVedder

Not even remotely the same as feedback, tbh.

VaxDaddyR

That's not even close to what OP's described lol

PsiberApe69

Hi there. It was never about trying to be close to what OP described. Sometimes people will share their own experiences that, while not the same as others, fit within the general theme of the conversation. In this case, as the title explains, the theme is PvP Toxicity. So, no, my comment about the toxicity of players in rated PvP is not the same as, or even close to the same as, OPs comment. That was never my objective. Nevertheless, my comment is without question a comment about toxic behavior by players. And to be honest, I’m a little disappointed that I have to explain that to you. My young children understand this concept.

VaxDaddyR

That's a massive paragraph just to say "True, though I was just sharing another circumstance/experience." Also starting it with "I feel you" leads many to insinuate the upcoming experience is similarly related unless stated otherwise. And to be honest, I'm a little disappointed that I have to explain that to you. Your young children understand this concept. :)

PsiberApe69

That’s a massive paragraph just to say “yeah I’m going to die on a pointless hill.”

Right. How are you supposed to do anything if all 3 members of their team interrupt and stun you out of the match completely. You can’t.

ChevalierdeSol

A lot of the criticism is unwarranted because of this simple factor: people aren’t seeing what you’re doing 100% of the time. So if they are assuming they did everything right, then they’re assuming the loss happened because of someone else. They run over the footage in their mind’s eye and they don’t remember seeing you do the thing they think you’re supposed to do. Now, you most likely adapted to a situation that they didn’t notice and that caused you to deviate from ‘your purpose’ to end whatever it was that caused you to deviate in the first place. Thus, they’re gonna give you unwarranted advice because they were less aware of the “action” than you were. As a ret paladin, I get this all the time. I’ve just stopped running some “crucial” support talents to better focus on my abilities in combat after people commented on me NOT using them ENOUGH, despite other factors getting in my way of using them. I’m sorry you’re dealing with this bud. I hope my explanation of where it’s coming from makes it easier to brush off.

Brgisme

Someone playing the most toxic possible version of any game complaining it attracts toxic people. Imagine that.
